Deuteronomy 14

NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 'You are children of Yahweh your God. You must not gash yourselves or shave your foreheads for thedead.	1 «Ви діти Господа, Бога вашого; з-за мерця не робитимете нарізок і не виголюватимете лисини між очима:
2 For you are a people consecrated to Yahweh your God, and Yahweh has chosen you to be his ownpeople from al the peoples on the earth.	2 бо ти народ святий у Господа, Бога твого; тебе він вибрав, щоб ти був народом вибраним з усіх народів, що на землі.
3 'You must not eat anything disgusting.	3 Не їстимеш ніякої гидоти.
4 These are the animals you may eat: ox, sheep, goat,	4 Ось яких тварин можна вам їсти: вола, вівцю й козу;
5 deer, gazel e, roebuck, ibex, antelope, oryx, mountain sheep.	5 оленя, сарну, лань, дику козу, козулю, антилопу й гірську козу;
6 You may eat any animal that has a divided and cloven hoof and that is a ruminant.	6 всяку скотину, яка має розколене копито й розщеплену ратицю і яка ремиґає, можна вам їсти.
7 Of those, however, that are ruminants and of those that have a divided and cloven hoof you may noteat the fol owing: the camel, the hare and the coney, which are ruminants but have no cloven hoof; you mustclass them as unclean.	7 Однак, ось із яких, Що хоч і ремиґають і мають розколене копито й розщеплену ратицю, не можна буде вам їсти: верблюда, зайця і борсука, бо вони, дарма що ремиґають, проте не мають розколених копит; вони будуть для вас нечисті;
8 So also the pig, which though it has a cloven hoof is not a ruminant; you must class it as unclean. Youmust neither eat the meat of such animals nor touch their dead bodies.	8 свиню теж, бо хоч вона й має розщеплені ратиці, але не ремиґає; вона буде для вас нечиста. М’яса їхнього не їстимете і до їхньої падлини не доторкатиметесь.
9 'Of whatever lives in water you may eat the fol owing: you may eat anything that has fins and scales.	9 Ось що можна вам їсти з усього, що в воді: все, що має плавці й луску, можна вам їсти.
10 But you must not eat anything without fins and scales: you must class it as unclean.	10 Нічого ж із того, що не має плавців і луски, не їстимете, воно буде для вас нечисте.
11 'You may eat al clean birds,	11 Всяку чисту птицю можна вам їсти.
12 but the fol owing birds you must not eat: the tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	12 Та ось яких з-поміж них не будете їсти: орла, перебийнога, шуліку,
13 the kite and the several kinds of buzzard,	13 сокола, коршуна й кобця всякої породи;
14 al kinds of raven,	14 вороння всякої породи;
15 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the several kinds of hawk,	15 струся, сову, морську чайку і яструба з його породою;
16 owl, barn owl, ibis,	16 пугача, ібіса, лебедя;
17 pelican, white vulture, cormorant,	17 пелікана, стерв’ятника й рибалку;
18 stork, the several kinds of heron, hoopoe and bat.	18 чорногуза й чаплю всякої породи, одуда й кажана.
19 You are to class al winged insects as unclean and must not eat them.	19 Всяка крилата комашня теж буде для вас нечиста, не їстимете її.
20 You may eat any clean fowl.	20 Всяку птицю чисту можна вам їсти.
21 'You must not eat any animal that has died a natural death. You may give it to a resident foreigner toeat, or sel it to a foreigner. For you are a people consecrated to Yahweh your God. 'You must not boil a kid in itsmother's milk.	21 Не їстимете ніякого стерва; приходневі, що живе в тебе по містах, його даси, він може це їсти; або продай чужинцеві; ти бо народ святий у Господа, Бога твого. Не варитимеш і козенятка в молоці матері його.
22 'Every year, you must take a tithe of what your fields produce from what you have sown	22 Даватимеш точно десятину з усього врожаю твого посіву, з того, що виросте в полі щороку.
23 and, in the presence of Yahweh your God, in the place where he chooses to give his name a home,you must eat the tithe of your wheat, of your new wine and of your oil, and the first-born of your herd and flock;and by so doing, you wil learn always to fear Yahweh your God.	23 І їстимеш перед Господом, Богом твоїм, на місці, яке вибере він, щоб там поставити своє ім’я, десятину твого зерна, твого молодого вина й твоєї олії й перваків твоєї високорослої та дрібної скотини, щоб ти навчавсь, поки життя, боятися Господа, Бога твого.
24 'If the road is too long for you, if you cannot bring your tithe because the place in which Yahwehchooses to make a home for his name is too far away, when Yahweh your God has blessed you,	24 А коли дорога буде для тебе занадто далека й буде тобі неможливо туди нести, бо далеко до того місця, що його Господь, Бог твій, вибере, щоб там поставити своє ім’я, коли Господь, Бог твій, поблагословить тебе,
25 you must convert it into money and, with the money clasped in your hand, you must go to the placechosen by Yahweh your God;	25 то ти виміняєш десятину за гроші, і, затиснувши гроші в руку, підеш до того місця, що його вибере Господь, Бог твій.
26 there you may spend the money on whatever you like, oxen, sheep, wine, fermented liquor, anythingyou please. There you must eat in the presence of Yahweh your God and rejoice, you and your household.	26 І купиш там за гроші, чого тільки забажає душа твоя, чи волів, чи овець, чи вина, чи п’янкого напою, одне слово — усього, чого тобі захочеться, і їстимеш там перед Господом, Богом твоїм, і веселитимешся сам і сім’я твоя;
27 Do not neglect the Levite living in your community, since he has no share or heritage of his ownamong you.	27 та не покинеш і левіта, що живе в твоїх містах, бо нема в нього, як у тебе, ні частки, ні посілости.
28 'At the end of every three years, you must take al the tithes of your harvests for that year and col ectthem in your community.	28 Наприкінці кожного третього року відкладеш набік десятину з усього твого врожаю за той рік і складеш її у своїх оселях.
29 Then the Levite -- since he has no share or heritage of his own among you -- the foreigner, theorphan and the widow living in your community, wil come and eat all they want. And so Yahweh your God wilbless you in al the labours that you undertake.'	29 І прийде левіт, бо нема в нього, як у тебе, ні частки ні посілости, і приходень, і сирота, і вдова, які живуть у тебе по містах, та й їстимуть досита, щоб Господь, Бог твій, благословив тебе в усякім ділі рук твоїх, за яке б ти тільки взявся.»
