Genesis 6

NEW JERUSALEM	Le Sainte Bible Fillion
1 When people began being numerous on earth, and daughters had been born to them,	1 Après que les hommes eurent commencé à se multiplier sur la terre et qu'ils eurent engendré des filles,
2 the sons of God, looking at the women, saw how beautiful they were and married as many of them asthey chose.	2 Les enfants de Dieu, voyant que les filles des hommes étaient belles, prirent pour leurs femmes celles d'entre elles qui leur avaient plu.
3 Yahweh said, 'My spirit cannot be indefinitely responsible for human beings, who are only flesh; let thetime al owed each be a hundred and twenty years.'	3 Et Dieu dit: Mon esprit ne demeurera pas pour toujours avec l'homme, parce qu'il est chair; et le temps de l'homme ne sera plus que de cent vingt ans.
4 The Nephilim were on earth in those days (and even afterwards) when the sons of God resorted to thewomen, and had children by them. These were the heroes of days gone by, men of renown.	4 Or il y avait des géants sur la terre en ce temps-là. Car depuis que les enfants de Dieu eurent épousé les filles des hommes, il en sortit des enfants qui furent des hommes puissants et dès longtemps fameux.
5 Yahweh saw that human wickedness was great on earth and that human hearts contrived nothing butwicked schemes al day long.	5 Mais Dieu, voyant que la malice des hommes qui vivaient sur la terre était extrême, et que toutes les pensées de leur coeur étaient en tout temps appliquées au mal,
6 Yahweh regretted having made human beings on earth and was grieved at heart.	6 Il Se repentit d'avoir fait l'homme sur la terre. Et étant touché de douleur jusqu'au fond du coeur,
7 And Yahweh said, 'I shal rid the surface of the earth of the human beings whom I created -- humanand animal, the creeping things and the birds of heaven -- for I regret having made them.'	7 Il dit: J'exterminerai de dessus la terre l'homme que J'ai créé; J'exterminerai tout, depuis l'homme jusqu'aux animaux, depuis ce qui rampe sur la terre jusqu'aux oiseaux du ciel: car Je Me repens de les avoir faits.
8 But Noah won Yahweh's favour.	8 Mais Noé trouva grâce devant le Seigneur.
9 This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, an upright man among his contemporaries, and hewalked with God.	9 Voici les générations d Noé. Noé fut un homme juste et parfait au milieu des hommes de son temps: il marcha avec Dieu.
10 Noah fathered three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth.	10 Et il engendra trois fils, Sem, Cham et Japheth.
11 God saw that the earth was corrupt and ful of lawlessness.	11 Or la terre était corrompue devant Dieu, et remplie d'iniquité.
12 God looked at the earth: it was corrupt, for corrupt were the ways of al living things on earth.	12 Dieu voyant donc cette corruption de la terre (car la vie que tous les hommes y menaient était toute corrompue),
13 God said to Noah, 'I have decided that the end has come for al living things, for the earth is full oflawlessness because of human beings. So I am now about to destroy them and the earth.	13 Il dit a Noé: J'ai résolu de faire périr tous les hommes. Ils ont rempli toute la terre d'iniquité, et Je les exterminerai avec la terre.
14 Make yourself an ark out of resinous wood. Make it of reeds and caulk it with pitch inside and out.	14 Faites-vous une arche de pièces de bois aplanies. Vous y ferez de petites chambres, et vous l'enduirez de bitume au dedans et au dehors.
15 This is how to make it: the length of the ark is to be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, andits height thirty cubits.	15 Voici la forme que vous lui donnerez. Sa longueur sera de trois cents coudées, sa largeur de cinquante, et sa hauteur de trente.
16 Make a roof to the ark, building it up to a cubit higher. Put the entrance in the side of the ark, which isto be made with lower, second and third decks.	16 Vous ferez à l'arche une fenêtre. Le comble qui la couvrira sera haut d'une coudée; et vous mettrez la porte de l'arche au côté; vous ferez un étage tout en bas, un au milieu, et un troisième.
17 'For my part I am going to send the flood, the waters, on earth, to destroy al living things having thebreath of life under heaven; everything on earth is to perish.	17 Je M'en vais répandre les eaux du déluge sur la terre, pour faire mourir toute chair qui respire, et qui est vivante sous le ciel. Tout ce qui est sur la terre sera consumé.
18 But with you I shal establish my covenant and you wil go aboard the ark, yourself, your sons, yourwife, and your sons' wives along with you.	18 J'établirai Mon alliance avec vous; et vous entrerez dans l'arche, vous et vos fils, votre femme, et les femmes de vos fils avec vous.
19 From al living creatures, from al living things, you must take two of each kind aboard the ark, to savetheir lives with yours; they must be a male and a female.	19 Vous ferez aussi entrer dans l'arche deux de chaque espèce de tous les animaux, un mâle et une femelle, afin qu'ils vivent avec vous.
20 Of every species of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that creeps along theground, two must go with you so that their lives may be saved.	20 De chaque espèce des oiseaux vous en prendrez deux; de chaque espèce des animaux terrestres, deux; de chaque espèce de ce qui rampe sur la terre, deux. Deux de toute espèce entreront avec vous dans l'arche, afin qu'ils puissent vivre.
21 For your part, provide yourself with eatables of al kinds, and lay in a store of them, to serve as foodfor yourself and them.'	21 Vous prendrez aussi avec vous de tout ce qui se peut manger, et vous le porterez dans l'arche, pour servir à votre nourriture et à celle de tous les animaux.
22 Noah did this; exactly as God commanded him, he did.	22 Noé accomplit donc tout ce que Dieu lui avait commandé.
