1 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, "This is what the LORD has commanded to be done.1 Igitur, congregato omni coetu filiorum Israel, dixit ad eos: “ Haec sunt, quae iussit Dominus fieri:
2 On six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be sacred to you as the sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Anyone who does work on that day shall be put to death.2 sex diebus facietis opus, septimus dies erit vobis sanctus, sabbatum et requies Domino; qui fecerit opus in eo, occidetur.
3 You shall not even light a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath day."3 Non succendetis ignem in omnibus habitaculis vestris per diem sabbati ”.
4 Moses told the whole Israelite community, "This is what the LORD has commanded:4 Et ait Moyses ad omnem coetum filiorum Israel: “ Iste est sermo, quem praecepit Dominus dicens:
5 Take up among you a collection for the LORD. Everyone, as his heart prompts him, shall bring, as a contribution to the LORD, gold, silver and bronze;5 "Separate apud vos donaria Domino". Omnis voluntarius et proni animi offerat ea Domino: aurum et argentum et aes,
6 violet, purple and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair;6 hyacinthum et purpuram coccumque et byssum, pilos caprarum
7 rams' skins dyed red, and tahash skins; acacia wood;7 et pelles arietum rubricatas et pelles delphini, ligna acaciae
8 oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;8 et oleum ad luminaria concinnanda et aromata, ut conficiatur unguentum et thymiama suavissimum,
9 onyx stones and other gems for mounting on the ephod and on the breastpiece.9 lapides onychinos et gemmas ad ornatum ephod et pectoralis.
10 "Let every expert among you come and make all that the LORD has commanded: the Dwelling,10 Quisquis vestrum sapiens est, veniat et faciat, quod Dominus imperavit,
11 with its tent, its covering, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its columns and its pedestals;11 habitaculum scilicet et tentorium eius atque operimentum, fibulas et tabulata cum vectibus, columnas et bases;
12 the ark, with its poles, the propitiatory, and the curtain veil;12 arcam et vectes, propitiatorium et velum, quod ante illud oppanditur;
13 the table, with its poles and all its appurtenances, and the showbread;13 mensam cum vectibus et vasis et propositionis panibus;
14 the lampstand, with its appurtenances, the lamps, and the oil for the light;14 candelabrum ad luminaria sustentanda, vasa illius et lucernas et oleum ad nutrimenta luminarium;
15 the altar of incense, with its poles; the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense; the entrance curtain for the entrance of the Dwelling;15 altare thymiamatis et vectes et oleum unctionis et thymiama ex aromatibus; velum ad ostium habitaculi;
16 the altar of holocausts, with its bronze grating, its poles, and all its appurtenances; the laver, with its base;16 altare holocausti et craticulam eius aeneam cum vectibus et vasis suis, labrum et basim eius;
17 the hangings of the court, with their columns and pedestals; the curtain for the entrance of the court;17 cortinas atrii cum columnis et basibus, velum in foribus atrii;
18 the tent pegs for the Dwelling and for the court, with their ropes;18 paxillos habitaculi et atrii cum funiculis suis;
19 the service cloths for use in the sanctuary; the sacred vestments for Aaron, the priest, and the vestments worn by his sons in their ministry."19 vestimenta texta, quorum usus est in ministerio sanctuarii, vestes sanctas Aaron pontificis ac vestes filiorum eius, ut sacerdotio fungantur mihi ”.
20 When the whole Israelite community left Moses' presence,20 Egressus est omnis coetus filiorum Israel de conspectu Moysi,
21 everyone, as his heart suggested and his spirit prompted, brought a contribution to the LORD for the construction of the meeting tent, for all its services, and for the sacred vestments.21 et venit, quisquis erat mentis promptissimae, et attulit sponte sua donaria Domino ad faciendum opus tabernaculi conventus et quidquid ad cultum et ad vestes sanctas necessarium erat.
22 Both the men and the women, all as their heart prompted them, brought brooches, earrings, rings, necklaces and various other gold articles. Everyone who could presented an offering of gold to the LORD.22 Viri cum mulieribus, omnes voluntarii praebuerunt fibulas et inaures, anulos et dextralia; omne vas aureum in donaria Domini separatum est.
23 Everyone who happened to have violet, purple or scarlet yarn, fine linen or goat hair, rams' skins dyed red or tahash skins, brought them.23 Si quis habebat hyacinthum et purpuram coccumque, byssum et pilos caprarum, pelles arietum rubricatas et pelles delphini,
24 Whoever could make a contribution of silver or bronze offered it to the LORD; and everyone who happened to have acacia wood for any part of the work, brought it.24 argenti aerisque metalla, obtulerunt Domino lignaque acaciae in varios usus.
25 All the women who were expert spinners brought hand-spun violet, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen thread.25 Sed et mulieres eruditae dederunt, quae neverant, hyacinthum, purpuram et coccum ac byssum
26 All the women who possessed the skill, spun goat hair.26 et pilos caprarum, sponte propria cuncta tribuentes.
27 The princes brought onyx stones and other gems for mounting on the ephod and on the breastpiece;27 Principes vero obtulerunt lapides onychinos et gemmas ad ephod et pectorale
28 as well as spices, and oil for the light, anointing oil, and fragrant incense.28 aromataque et oleum ad luminaria concinnanda et ad praeparandum unguentum ac thymiama odoris suavissimi componendum.
29 Every Israelite man and woman brought to the LORD such voluntary offerings as they thought best, for the various kinds of work which the LORD had commanded Moses to have done.29 Omnes viri et mulieres mente prompta obtulerunt donaria, ut fierent opera, quae iusserat Dominus per manum Moysi. Cuncti filii Israel voluntaria Domino dedicaverunt.
30 Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel, son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,30 Dixitque Moyses ad filios Israel: “ Ecce vocavit Dominus ex nomine Beseleel filium Uri filii Hur de tribu Iudae;
31 and has filled him with a divine spirit of skill and understanding and knowledge in every craft:31 implevitque eum spiritu Dei, sapientia et intellegentia et scientia ad omne opus,
32 in the production of embroidery, in making things of gold, silver or bronze,32 ad excogitandum et faciendum opus in auro et argento et aere,
33 in cutting and mounting precious stones, in carving wood, and in every other craft.33 ad scindendum et includendum gemmas et ad sculpendum ligna, quidquid fabre adinveniri potest.
34 He has also given both him and Oholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.34 Dedit quoque in corde eius, ut alios doceret, ipsi et Ooliab filio Achisamech de tribu Dan.
35 He has endowed them with skill to execute all types of work: engraving, embroidering, the making of variegated cloth of violet, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen thread, weaving, and all other arts and crafts.35 Ambos implevit sapientia, ut faciant opera fabri polymitarii ac plumarii de hyacintho ac purpura coccoque et bysso et textoris, facientes omne opus ac nova quaeque reperientes ”.
