1 Dem Musikmeister, von David ein Psalm, ein Lied.	1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let those who hate him flee before him!
2 Gott steht auf: da zerstieben seine Feinde,und die ihn hassen, fliehen vor seinem Angesicht (4.Mose 10,35).	2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before fire, let the wicked perish before God!
3 Wie Rauch verweht, so verwehst (= zerstreust) du sie;wie Wachs zerschmilzt vor dem Feuer,so kommen die Gottlosen um vor Gottes Angesicht;	3 But let the righteous be joyful; let them exult before God; let them be jubilant with joy!
4 die Gerechten aber freuen sich, jubeln vor Gottes Angesichtund frohlocken voller Freude.	4 Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds; his name is the LORD, exult before him!
5 Singet Gott, lobsingt seinem Namen,machet Bahn ihm, der durch Wüsten einherfährt - ›HERR‹ ist sein Name –, und jauchzet vor seinem Angesicht!	5 Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.
6 Ein Vater der Waisen, ein Richter der Witwenist Gott in seiner heiligen Wohnstatt.	6 God gives the desolate a home to dwell in; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.
7 Gott verhilft den Vereinsamten zum Hausstand,führt Gefangne heraus zum Wohlergehn;doch Widerstrebende müssen wohnen in dürrem Land.	7 O God, when thou didst go forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness, [Selah]
8 Als du auszogst, Gott, an der Spitze deines Volkes,einherschrittest durch die Wüste: (SELA)	8 the earth quaked, the heavens poured down rain, at the presence of God; yon Sinai quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 da bebte die Erde, da troffen die Himmel vor Gottes Angesicht,der Sinai dort vor dem Angesicht Gottes, des Gottes Israels.	9 Rain in abundance, O God, thou didst shed abroad; thou didst restore thy heritage as it languished;
10 Regen in Fülle ließest du strömen, o Gott;dein Eigentumsvolk, sooft ermattet es war:du machtest es wieder stark.	10 thy flock found a dwelling in it; in thy goodness, O God, thou didst provide for the needy.
11 Deine Herde (oder: Schar) fand Wohnung darin (= im Lande),durch deine Güte stelltest du, Gott, die Schwachen wieder her.	11 The Lord gives the command; great is the host of those who bore the tidings:
12 Der Allherr ließ Siegesruf erschallen - der Siegesbotinnen war eine große Schar –:	12 "The kings of the armies, they flee, they flee!" The women at home divide the spoil,
13 »Die Könige der Heere fliehen, sie fliehn,und die Hausfrau teilt die Beute aus.«	13 though they stay among the sheepfolds-- the wings of a dove covered with silver, its pinions with green gold.
14 »Wollt ihr zwischen den Hürden liegen bleiben?« – »Die Flügel der Tauben, mit Silber überzogen,und ihr Gefieder gelblich schimmernd von Gold.« –	14 When the Almighty scattered kings there, snow fell on Zalmon.
15 »Als Könige dort der Allmächtge zerstreute,da fand ein Schneegestöber statt auf dem Zalmon.«	15 O mighty mountain, mountain of Bashan; O many-peaked mountain, mountain of Bashan!
16 Du Gottesberg, Basansberg,du gipfelreicher Berg, Basansberg:	16 Why look you with envy, O many-peaked mountain, at the mount which God desired for his abode, yea, where the LORD will dwell for ever?
17 warum blickt ihr neidisch, ihr gipfelreichen Berge,auf den Berg, den Gott zum Wohnsitz erkoren?Ja, ewig wird der HERR dort wohnen (oder: thronen).	17 With mighty chariotry, twice ten thousand, thousands upon thousands, the Lord came from Sinai into the holy place.
18 Der Kriegswagen Gottes sind vieltausendmal tausend;der Allherr ist unter ihnen, ein Sinai an Heiligkeit.	18 Thou didst ascend the high mount, leading captives in thy train, and receiving gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the LORD God may dwell there.
19 Du bist zur Höhe aufgefahren, hast Gefangene weggeführt,hast Gaben unter den Menschen angenommen (oder: empfangen);ja auch die Widerstrebenden müssen wohnen bei Gott dem HERRN.	19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. [Selah]
20 Gepriesen sei der Allherr! Tag für Tag!Uns trägt der Gott, der unsre Hilfe ist. SELA.	20 Our God is a God of salvation; and to GOD, the Lord, belongs escape from death.
21 Dieser Gott ist uns ein rettender Gott,und Gott der HERR weiß Rat auch gegen den Tod.	21 But God will shatter the heads of his enemies, the hairy crown of him who walks in his guilty ways.
22 Ja, Gott zerschmettert das Haupt seiner Feinde,den Haarscheitel dessen, der in seinen Sünden einhergeht.	22 The Lord said, "I will bring them back from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,
23 Der Allherr hat verheißen: »Aus Basan bring’ ich (sie) heim,ja bringe (sie) heim aus den Tiefen des Meeres,	23 that you may bathe your feet in blood, that the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from the foe."
24 auf daß du in Blut deine Füße badestund die Zunge deiner Hunde an den Feinden sich letze.« –	24 Thy solemn processions are seen, O God, the processions of my God, my King, into the sanctuary--
25 Man hat, o Gott, deinen Festzug gesehn,den Festzug meines Gottes, meines Königs, im Heiligtum:	25 the singers in front, the minstrels last, between them maidens playing timbrels:
26 An der Spitze zogen Sänger, dahinter Saitenspielerinmitten paukenschlagender Jungfrauen:	26 "Bless God in the great congregation, the LORD, O you who are of Israel's fountain!"
27 »In Versammlungen (oder: vollen Chören) preiset Gott,den Allherrn, ihr aus Israels Born (oder: Lebensquell)!«	27 There is Benjamin, the least of them, in the lead, the princes of Judah in their throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.
28 Dort schritt Benjamin hin, der Jüngste, der sie doch beherrscht hat,die Fürsten Judas nach ihrer großen Menge,Sebulons Fürsten, die Fürsten von Naphthali.	28 Summon thy might, O God; show thy strength, O God, thou who hast wrought for us.
29 Entbiete, o Gott, deine Macht,erhalte in Kraft, o Gott, was du uns erwirkt hast!	29 Because of thy temple at Jerusalem kings bear gifts to thee.
30 Um deines Tempels willen müssen Könige dirGeschenke hinauf nach Jerusalem bringen.	30 Rebuke the beasts that dwell among the reeds, the herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples. Trample under foot those who lust after tribute; scatter the peoples who delight in war.
31 Bedrohe das Tier des Schilfrohrs,die Rotte der Stiere (d.h. der Großmächte) samt den Völkerkälbern,die mit Silberbarren sich unterwerfen;zerstreue die Völker, die Freude an Kriegen haben!	31 Let bronze be brought from Egypt; let Ethiopia hasten to stretch out her hands to God.
32 Kommen werden die Edlen aus Ägypten, Äthiopien eilt mit vollen Händen Gott entgegen.	32 Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth; sing praises to the Lord, [Selah]
33 Ihr Königreiche der Erde, singet Gott,lobsinget dem Allherrn, SELA,	33 to him who rides in the heavens, the ancient heavens; lo, he sends forth his voice, his mighty voice.
34 ihm, der einherfährt im höchsten (oder: innersten) Himmel der Urzeit!Horch! Er läßt seine Stimme erschallen, den rollenden Donner!	34 Ascribe power to God, whose majesty is over Israel, and his power is in the skies.
35 Gebt Gott die Macht (= die Ehre)! Über Israel waltet seine Hoheitund seine Macht in den Wolken.	35 Terrible is God in his sanctuary, the God of Israel, he gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!
36 Furchtbar bist du, Gott, von deinem Heiligtum aus!Israels Gott, er ist’s, der Macht verleiht und Stärke seinem Volk:gepriesen sei Gott!
