1 Salmo di David quando stava nel deserto dell'Idumea. DIO, Dio mio, a te io aspiro al primo apparir della luce. Di te ha sete l'anima mia: in quante maniere ha sete di te la mia carne!	1 For the leader; al Jeduthun. A psalm of David.
2 In una terra deserta, che vie non ha, ed è mancante di acque, mi presentai a te come nel santuario, per contemplare la tua potenza, e la tua gloria.	2 My soul rests in God alone, from whom comes my salvation.
3 Perocché miglior delle vite ell'è la tua misericordia: a te le labbra mie daran laude.	3 God alone is my rock and salvation, my secure height; I shall never fall.
4 Quindi io ti benedirò nella mia vita, e nel nome tuo alzerò le mie mani.	4 How long will you set upon people, all of you beating them down, As though they were a sagging fence or a battered wall?
5 Sia come ingrassata, e impinguata l'anima mia: e con voci di giubilo te loderà la mia bocca.	5 Even from my place on high they plot to dislodge me. They delight in lies; they bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah
6 Se io mi son ricordato di te nel mio letto al bel mattino, mediterò sopra dite:	6 My soul, be at rest in God alone, from whom comes my hope.
7 Perocché mio aiuto se' tu.	7 God alone is my rock and my salvation, my secure height; I shall not fall.
8 E all'ombra dell'ali tue io esulterò: dietro a te va anelando l'anima mia: la tua destra mi ha sostenuto.	8 My safety and glory are with God, my strong rock and refuge.
9 Eglino però indarno cercano la mia vita: entreranno nelle cupe viscere della terra,	9 Trust God at all times, my people! Pour out your hearts to God our refuge! Selah
10 Saranno dati in poter della spada, saran preda delle volpi.	10 Mortals are a mere breath, the powerful but an illusion; On a balance they rise; together they are lighter than air.
11 Ma il re in Dio si allegrerà: avranno laude tutti coloro, che per lui giurano; perché è stata chiusa la bocca di coloro, che parlavano iniquamente.	11 Do not trust in extortion; in plunder put no empty hope. Though wealth increase, do not set your heart upon it.
	12 One thing God has said; two things I have heard: Power belongs to God;
	13 3) so too, Lord, does kindness, And you render to each of us according to our deeds.
