Livre des Psaumes 94

JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Dieu des vengeances, Yahvé, Dieu des vengeances, parais!	1 God of vengeance, Yahweh, God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Lève-toi, juge de la terre, retourne aux orgueilleux leur salaire!	2 Arise, judge of the world, give back the proud what they deserve!
3 Jusques à quand les impies, Yahvé, jusques à quand les impies triomphant?	3 How long are the wicked, Yahweh, how long are the wicked to triumph?
4 Ils déblatèrent, ils ont le verbe haut, ils se rengorgent, tous les malfaisants.	4 They bluster and boast, they flaunt themselves, all the evil-doers.
5 Et ton peuple, Yahvé, qu'ils écrasent, et ton héritage qu'ils oppriment,	5 They crush your people, Yahweh, they oppress your heritage,
6 la veuve et l'étranger, ils les égorgent, et l'orphelin, ils l'assassinent!	6 they murder the widow and the stranger, bring the orphan to a violent death.
7 Et ils disent: "Yahvé ne voit pas, le Dieu de Jacob ne prend pas garde."	7 They say, 'Yahweh is not looking, the God of Jacob is taking no notice.'
8 Prenez garde, stupides entre tous! insensés, quand aurez-vous l'intelligence?	8 Take notice yourselves, you coarsest of people! Fools, when wil you learn some sense?
9 Lui qui planta l'oreille n'entendrait pas? S'il a façonné l'oeil, il ne verrait pas?	9 Shal he who implanted the ear not hear, he who fashioned the eye not see?
10 Lui qui reprend les peuples ne punirait pas? Lui qui enseigne à l'homme le savoir,	10 Shal he who instructs nations not punish? Yahweh, the teacher of al people,
11 Yahvé sait les pensées de l'homme et qu'elles sont du vent.	11 knows human plans and how insipid they are.
12 Heureux l'homme que tu reprends, Yahvé, et que tu enseignes par ta loi,	12 How blessed are those you instruct, Yahweh, whom you teach by means of your law,
13 pour lui donner le repos aux mauvais jours, tant que se creuse une fosse pour l'impie.	13 to give them respite in evil times, til a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 Car Yahvé ne délaisse point son peuple, son héritage, point ne l'abandonne;	14 Yahweh will not abandon his people, he wil not desert his heritage;
15 le jugement revient vers la justice, tous les coeurs droits lui font cortège.	15 for judgement will again become saving justice, and in its wake al upright hearts will fol ow.
16 Qui se lève pour moi contre les méchants, qui siège pour moi contre les malfaisants?	16 Who rises up on my side against the wicked? Who stands firm on my side against al evil-doers?
17 Si Yahvé ne me venait en aide, bientôt mon âme habiterait le silence.	17 If Yahweh did not come to my help, I should soon find myself dwel ing in the silence.
18 Quand je dis: "Mon pied chancelle", ton amour, Yahvé, me soutient;	18 I need only say, 'I am slipping,' for your faithful love, Yahweh, to support me;
19 dans l'excès des soucis qui m'envahissent, tes consolations délectent mon âme.	19 however great the anxiety of my heart, your consolations soothe me.
20 Es-tu l'allié d'un tribunal de perdition, érigeant en loi le désordre?	20 Are you partner to a destructive court, that gives disorder the status of law?
21 On s'attaque à la vie du juste, et le sang innocent, on le condamne.	21 They make an attack on the life of the upright, and condemn innocent blood.
22 Mais Yahvé est pour moi une citadelle, et mon Dieu, le rocher de mon refuge;	22 No! Yahweh is a stronghold to me, my God is my rock of refuge.
23 il retourne contre eux leur méfait et pour leur malice il les fait taire, il les fait taire, Yahvé notreDieu!	23 He turns back their guilt on themselves, annihilates them for their wickedness, he annihilates them,Yahweh our God.
