2 En Juda Dieu est connu, en Israël grand est son nom;	2 Renowned in Judah is God, whose name is great in Israel.
3 sa tente s'est fixée en Salem et sa demeure en Sion;	3 On Salem is God's tent, a shelter on Zion.
4 là, il a brisé les éclairs de l'arc, le bouclier, l'épée et la guerre.	4 There the flashing arrows were shattered, shield, sword, and weapons of war. Selah
5 Lumineux que tu es, et célèbre pour les monceaux de butin	5 Terrible and awesome are you, stronger than the ancient mountains.
6 qu'on leur a pris; les braves ont dormi leur sommeil, tous ces guerriers, les bras leur ont manqué;	6 Despoiled are the bold warriors; they sleep their final sleep; the hands of all the mighty have failed.
7 sous ta menace, Dieu de Jacob, char et cheval se sont figés.	7 At your roar, O God of Jacob, chariots and steeds lay still.
8 Toi, toi le terrible! Qui tiendra devant ta face, sous le coup de ta fureur?	8 So terrible and awesome are you; who can stand before you and your great anger?
9 Des cieux tu fais entendre la sentence, la terre a peur et se tait	9 From the heavens you pronounced sentence; the earth was terrified and reduced to silence,
10 quand Dieu se lève pour le jugement, pour sauver tous les humbles de la terre.	10 When you arose, O God, for judgment to deliver the afflicted of the land. Selah
11 La colère de l'homme te rend gloire, des réchappés de la Colère, tu te ceindras;	11 Even wrathful Edom praises you; the remnant of Hamath keeps your feast.
12 faites des voeux, acquittez-les à Yahvé votre Dieu, ceux qui l'entourent, faites offrande auTerrible;	12 Make and keep vows to the LORD your God. May all present bring gifts to this awesome God,
13 il coupe le souffle des princes, terrible aux rois de la terre.	13 Who checks the pride of princes, inspires awe among the kings of earth.
