EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Erinnere sie daran, sich den Herrschern und Machthabern unterzuordnen und ihnen zu gehorchen. Sie sollen immer bereit sein, Gutes zu tun,	1 Remind them to be obedient to the officials in authority; to be ready to do good at every opportunity;
2 sollen niemand schmähen, nicht streitsüchtig sein, sondern freundlich und gütig zu allen Menschen.	2 not to go slandering other people but to be peaceable and gentle, and always polite to people of al kinds.
3 Denn auch wir waren früher unverständig und ungehorsam; wir gingen in die Irre, waren Sklaven aller möglichen Begierden und Leidenschaften, lebten in Bosheit und Neid, waren verhasst und hassten einander.	3 There was a time when we too were ignorant, disobedient and misled and enslaved by different passionsand dissipations; we lived then in wickedness and malice, hating each other and hateful ourselves.
4 Als aber die Güte und Menschenliebe Gottes, unseres Retters, erschien,	4 But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour for humanity were revealed,
5 hat er uns gerettet - nicht weil wir Werke vollbracht hätten, die uns gerecht machen können, sondern aufgrund seines Erbarmens - durch das Bad der Wiedergeburt und der Erneuerung im Heiligen Geist.	5 it was not because of any upright actions we had done ourselves; it was for no reason except his ownfaithful love that he saved us, by means of the cleansing water of rebirth and renewal in the Holy Spirit
6 Ihn hat er in reichem Maß über uns ausgegossen durch Jesus Christus, unseren Retter,	6 which he has so generously poured over us through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 damit wir durch seine Gnade gerecht gemacht werden und das ewige Leben erben, das wir erhoffen.	7 so that, justified by his grace, we should become heirs in hope of eternal life.
8 Dieses Wort ist glaubwürdig, und ich will, dass du dafür eintrittst, damit alle, die zum Glauben an Gott gekommen sind, sich nach Kräften bemühen, das Gute zu tun. So ist es gut und für alle Menschen nützlich.	8 This is doctrine that you can rely on. I want you to be quite uncompromising in teaching all this, so thatthose who now believe in God may keep their minds constantly occupied in doing good works. Al this is good,and useful for everybody.
9 Lass dich nicht ein auf törichte Auseinandersetzungen und Erörterungen über Geschlechterreihen, auf Streit und Gezänk über das Gesetz; sie sind nutzlos und vergeblich.	9 But avoid foolish speculations, and those genealogies, and the quibbles and disputes about the Law --they are useless and futile.
10 Wenn du einen Sektierer einmal und ein zweites Mal ermahnt hast, so meide ihn.	10 If someone disputes what you teach, then after a first and a second warning, have no more to do withhim:
11 Du weißt, ein solcher Mensch ist auf dem verkehrten Weg; er sündigt und spricht sich selbst das Urteil.	11 you wil know that anyone of that sort is warped and is self-condemned as a sinner.
12 Sobald ich Artemas oder Tychikus zu dir schicke, komm rasch zu mir nach Nikopolis; denn ich habe mich entschlossen, dort den Winter zu verbringen.	12 As soon as I have sent Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to join me at Nicopolis, where I havedecided to spend the winter.
13 Den gesetzeskundigen Zenas und den Apollos statte für die Weiterreise gut aus, damit ihnen nichts fehlt.	13 Help eagerly on their way Zenas the lawyer and Apollos, and make sure they have everything theyneed.
14 Auch unsere Leute sollen lernen, nach Kräften Gutes zu tun, wo es nötig ist, damit ihr Leben nicht ohne Frucht bleibt.	14 Al our people must also learn to occupy themselves in doing good works for their practical needs, andnot to be unproductive.
