EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Damals sagte der Herr zu Josua:	1 Yahweh said to Joshua,
2 Sag den Israeliten: Bestimmt die Asylstädte bei euch, von denen ich zu euch durch Mose gesprochen habe.	2 'Speak to the Israelites and say to them, "Choose yourselves the cities of refuge of which I spoke toyou through Moses,
3 Dorthin kann jeder fliehen, der getötet hat, das heißt, der versehentlich, ohne Vorsatz, einen Menschen erschlagen hat. Die Städte sollen euch als Asyl vor dem Bluträcher dienen.	3 to which anyone who has accidental y (unintentional y) kil ed someone else may flee, and which wilserve you as refuge from the avenger of blood.
4 Wenn jemand in eine von diesen Städten flieht, soll er am Eingang des Stadttors stehen bleiben und den Ältesten der Stadt seine Sache vortragen. Sie sollen ihn zu sich in die Stadt aufnehmen und ihm eine Unterkunft geben, damit er bei ihnen bleiben kann.	4 (The kil er must flee to one of these towns. He will stop at the entrance to the town gate and explain hiscase to the town elders. These wil admit him to their town and assign him a place to live among them.

6 Er soll in dieser Stadt bleiben, bis er vor die Gemeinde zur Gerichtsverhandlung treten kann, bis zum Tod des Hohenpriesters, der in jenen Tagen im Amt ist. 7 Man wählte also Kedesch in Galiläa, im Gebirge Naftali, aus, ferner Sichem im Gebirge Efraim und Kirjat- Arba, das ist Hebron, im Gebirge Juda.	7 For this purpose they designated Kedesh in Galilee, in the highlands of Naphtali, Shechem in thehighlands of Ephraim, and Kiriath-Arba -- now Hebron -- in the highlands of Judah.
8 Jenseits des Jordan [östlich von Jericho] bestimmte man Bezer in der Steppe, in der Ebene, vom Stamm Ruben, Ramot in Gilead vom Stamm Gad und Golan im Baschan vom Stamm Manasse.	8 On the other, eastern, side of the Jordan opposite Jericho, in the desert of the tableland, they choseBezer of the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan of the tribe ofManasseh.
9 Das waren die Asylstädte für alle Israeliten und für die Fremden, die sich bei ihnen aufhielten.
