Der erste Brief an die Thessaloniker 1

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Paulus, Silvanus und Timotheus an die Gemeinde von Thessalonich, die in Gott, dem Vater, und in Jesus Christus, dem Herrn, ist: Gnade sei mit euch und Friede.	1 Paul, Silvanus and Timothy, to the Church in Thessalonica which is in God the Father and the LordJesus Christ. Grace to you and peace.
2 Wir danken Gott für euch alle, sooft wir in unseren Gebeten an euch denken;	2 We always thank God for you al , mentioning you in our prayers continually.
3 unablässig erinnern wir uns vor Gott, unserem Vater, an das Werk eures Glaubens, an die Opferbereitschaft eurer Liebe und an die Standhaftigkeit eurer Hoffnung auf Jesus Christus, unseren Herrn.	3 We remember before our God and Father how active is the faith, how unsparing the love, howpersevering the hope which you have from our Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Wir wissen, von Gott geliebte Brüder, dass ihr erwählt seid.	4 We know, brothers loved by God, that you have been chosen,
5 Denn wir haben euch das Evangelium nicht nur mit Worten verkündet, sondern auch mit Macht und mit dem Heiligen Geist und mit voller Gewissheit; ihr wisst selbst, wie wir bei euch aufgetreten sind, um euch zu gewinnen.	5 because our gospel came to you not only in words, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and withgreat effect. And you observed the sort of life we lived when we were with you, which was for your sake.
6 Und ihr seid unserem Beispiel gefolgt und dem des Herrn; ihr habt das Wort trotz großer Bedrängnis mit der Freude aufgenommen, die der Heilige Geist gibt.	6 You took us and the Lord as your model, welcoming the word with the joy of the Holy Spirit in spite ofgreat hardship.
7 So wurdet ihr ein Vorbild für alle Gläubigen in Mazedonien und in Achaia.	7 And so you became an example to al believers in Macedonia and Achaia
8 Von euch aus ist das Wort des Herrn aber nicht nur nach Mazedonien und Achaia gedrungen, sondern überall ist euer Glaube an Gott bekannt geworden, sodass wir darüber nichts mehr zu sagen brauchen.	8 since it was from you that the word of the Lord rang out -- and not only throughout Macedonia andAchaia, for your faith in God has spread everywhere. We do not need to tel other people about it:
9 Denn man erzählt sich überall, welche Aufnahme wir bei euch gefunden haben und wie ihr euch von den Götzen zu Gott bekehrt habt, um dem lebendigen und wahren Gott zu dienen	9 other people tel us how we started the work among you, how you broke with the worship of false godswhen you were converted to God and became servants of the living and true God;
10 und seinen Sohn vom Himmel her zu erwarten, Jesus, den er von den Toten auferweckt hat und der uns dem kommenden Gericht Gottes entreißt.	10 and how you are now waiting for Jesus, his Son, whom he raised from the dead, to come fromheaven. It is he who saves us from the Retribution which is coming.
