Der Brief an die Philipper 3

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Vor allem, meine Brüder, freut euch im Herrn! Euch immer das Gleiche zu schreiben wird mir nicht lästig, euch aber macht es sicher.	1 Finally, brothers, I wish you joy in the Lord. To write to you what I have already written before is notrouble to me and to you will be a protection.
2 Gebt Acht auf diese Hunde, gebt Acht auf die falschen Lehrer, gebt Acht auf die Verschnittenen!	2 Beware of dogs! Beware of evil workmen! Beware of self-mutilators!
3 Denn die Beschnittenen sind wir, die wir im Geist Gottes dienen und uns in Christus Jesus rühmen und nicht auf irdische Vorzüge vertrauen,	3 We are the true people of the circumcision since we worship by the Spirit of God and make Christ Jesusour only boast, not relying on physical qualifications,
4 obwohl ich mein Vertrauen auch auf irdische Vorzüge setzen könnte. Wenn ein anderer meint, er könne auf irdische Vorzüge vertrauen, so könnte ich es noch mehr.	4 although, I myself could rely on these too. If anyone does claim to rely on them, my claim is better.
5 Ich wurde am achten Tag beschnitten, bin aus dem Volk Israel, vom Stamm Benjamin, ein Hebräer von Hebräern, lebte als Pharisäer nach dem Gesetz,	5 Circumcised on the eighth day of my life, I was born of the race of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, aHebrew born of Hebrew parents. In the matter of the Law, I was a Pharisee;
6 verfolgte voll Eifer die Kirche und war untadelig in der Gerechtigkeit, wie sie das Gesetz vorschreibt.	6 as for religious fervour, I was a persecutor of the Church; as for the uprightness embodied in the Law, Iwas faultless.
7 Doch was mir damals ein Gewinn war, das habe ich um Christi Willen als Verlust erkannt.	7 But what were once my assets I now through Christ Jesus count as losses.
8 Ja noch mehr: ich sehe alles als Verlust an, weil die Erkenntnis Christi Jesu, meines Herrn, alles übertrifft. Seinetwegen habe ich alles aufgegeben und halte es für Unrat, um Christus zu gewinnen	8 Yes, I wil go further: because of the supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, I counteverything else as loss. For him I have accepted the loss of al other things, and look on them all as filth if only Ican gain Christ
9 und in ihm zu sein. Nicht meine eigene Gerechtigkeit suche ich, die aus dem Gesetz hervorgeht, sondern jene, die durch den Glauben an Christus kommt, die Gerechtigkeit, die Gott aufgrund des Glaubens schenkt.	9 and be given a place in him, with the uprightness I have gained not from the Law, but through faith inChrist, an uprightness from God, based on faith,
10 Christus will ich erkennen und die Macht seiner Auferstehung und die Gemeinschaft mit seinen Leiden; sein Tod soll mich prägen.	10 that I may come to know him and the power of his resurrection, and partake of his sufferings by beingmoulded to the pattern of his death,
11 So hoffe ich, auch zur Auferstehung von den Toten zu gelangen.	11 striving towards the goal of resurrection from the dead.
12 Nicht dass ich es schon erreicht hätte oder dass ich schon vollendet wäre. Aber ich strebe danach, es zu ergreifen, weil auch ich von Christus Jesus ergriffen worden bin.	12 Not that I have secured it already, nor yet reached my goal, but I am stil pursuing it in the attempt totake hold of the prize for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
13 Brüder, ich bilde mir nicht ein, dass ich es schon ergriffen hätte. Eines aber tue ich: Ich vergesse, was hinter mir liegt, und strecke mich nach dem aus, was vor mir ist.	13 Brothers, I do not reckon myself as having taken hold of it; I can only say that forgetting al that liesbehind me, and straining forward to what lies in front,
14 Das Ziel vor Augen, jage ich nach dem Siegespreis: der himmlischen Berufung, die Gott uns in Christus Jesus schenkt.	14 I am racing towards the finishing-point to win the prize of God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus.
15 Das wollen wir bedenken, wir Vollkommenen. Und wenn ihr anders über etwas denkt, wird Gott euch auch das offenbaren.	15 So this is the way in which al of us who are mature should be thinking, and if you are still thinkingdifferently in any way, then God has yet to make this matter clear to you.
16 Nur müssen wir festhalten, was wir erreicht haben.	16 Meanwhile, let us go forward from the point we have each attained.
17 Ahmt auch ihr mich nach, Brüder, und achtet auf jene, die nach dem Vorbild leben, das ihr an uns habt.	17 Brothers, be united in imitating me. Keep your eyes fixed on those who act according to the exampleyou have from me.
18 Denn viele - von denen ich oft zu euch gesprochen habe, doch jetzt unter Tränen spreche - leben als Feinde des Kreuzes Christi.	18 For there are so many people of whom I have often warned you, and now I warn you again with tearsin my eyes, who behave like the enemies of Christ's cross.
19 Ihr Ende ist das Verderben, ihr Gott der Bauch; ihr Ruhm besteht in ihrer Schande; Irdisches haben sie im Sinn.	19 They are destined to be lost; their god is the stomach; they glory in what they should think shameful,since their minds are set on earthly things.
20 Unsere Heimat aber ist im Himmel. Von dorther erwarten wir auch Jesus Christus, den Herrn, als Retter,	20 But our homeland is in heaven and it is from there that we are expecting a Saviour, the Lord JesusChrist,
21 der unseren armseligen Leib verwandeln wird in die Gestalt seines verherrlichten Leibes, in der Kraft, mit der er sich alles unterwerfen kann.	21 who wil transfigure the wretched body of ours into the mould of his glorious body, through the workingof the power which he has, even to bring all things under his mastery.
