Der Brief an die Philipper 1

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Paulus und Timotheus, Knechte Christi Jesu, an alle Heiligen in Christus Jesus, die in Philippi sind, mit ihren Bischöfen und Diakonen.	1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to all God's holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, togetherwith their presiding elders and the deacons.
2 Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unserem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.	2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Ich danke meinem Gott jedes Mal, wenn ich an euch denke;	3 I thank my God whenever I think of you,
4 immer, wenn ich für euch alle bete, tue ich es mit Freude	4 and every time I pray for you al , I always pray with joy
5 und danke Gott dafür, dass ihr euch gemeinsam für das Evangelium eingesetzt habt vom ersten Tag an bis jetzt.	5 for your partnership in the gospel from the very first day up to the present.
6 Ich vertraue darauf, dass er, der bei euch das gute Werk begonnen hat, es auch vollenden wird bis zum Tag Christi Jesu.	6 I am quite confident that the One who began a good work in you wil go on completing it until the Day ofJesus Christ comes.
7 Es ist nur recht, dass ich so über euch alle denke, weil ich euch ins Herz geschlossen habe. Denn ihr alle habt Anteil an der Gnade, die mir durch meine Gefangenschaft und die Verteidigung und Bekräftigung des Evangeliums gewährt ist.	7 It is only right that I should feel like this towards you all, because you have a place in my heart, sinceyou have all shared together in the grace that has been mine, both my chains and my work defending andestablishing the gospel.
8 Gott ist mein Zeuge, wie ich mich nach euch allen sehne mit der herzlichen Liebe, die Christus Jesus zu euch hat.	8 For God wil testify for me how much I long for you al with the warm longing of Christ Jesus;
9 Und ich bete darum, dass eure Liebe immer noch reicher an Einsicht und Verständnis wird,	9 it is my prayer that your love for one another may grow more and more with the knowledge andcomplete understanding
10 damit ihr beurteilen könnt, worauf es ankommt. Dann werdet ihr rein und ohne Tadel sein für den Tag Christi,	10 that will help you to come to true discernment, so that you wil be innocent and free of any trace of guiltwhen the Day of Christ comes,
11 reich an der Frucht der Gerechtigkeit, die Jesus Christus gibt, zur Ehre und zum Lob Gottes.	11 entirely fil ed with the fruits of uprightness through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.
12 Ihr sollt wissen, Brüder, dass alles, was mir zugestoßen ist, die Verbreitung des Evangeliums gefördert hat.	12 Now I want you to realise, brothers, that the circumstances of my present life are helping rather thanhindering the advance of the gospel.
13 Denn im ganzen Prätorium und bei allen Übrigen ist offenbar geworden, dass ich um Christi willen im Gefängnis bin.	13 My chains in Christ have become wel known not only to al the Praetorium, but to everybody else,
14 Und die meisten der Brüder sind durch meine Gefangenschaft zuversichtlich geworden im Glauben an den Herrn und wagen umso kühner, das Wort Gottes furchtlos zu sagen.	14 and so most of the brothers in the Lord have gained confidence from my chains and are getting moreand more daring in announcing the Message without any fear.
15 Einige verkündigen Christus zwar aus Neid und Streitsucht, andere aber in guter Absicht.	15 It is true that some of them are preaching Christ out of malice and rivalry; but there are many as welwhose intentions are good;
16 Die einen predigen Christus aus Liebe, weil sie wissen, dass ich zur Verteidigung des Evangeliums bestimmt bin,	16 some are doing it out of love, knowing that I remain firm in my defence of the gospel.
17 die andern aus Ehrgeiz, nicht in redlicher Gesinnung; sie möchten die Last meiner Ketten noch schwerer machen.	17 There are others who are proclaiming Christ out of jealousy, not in sincerity but meaning to add to theweight of my chains.
18 Aber was liegt daran? Auf jede Weise, ob in unlauterer oder lauterer Absicht, wird Christus verkündigt und darüber freue ich mich. Aber ich werde mich auch in Zukunft freuen.	18 But what does it matter? Only that in both ways, whether with false motives or true, Christ isproclaimed, and for that I am happy;
19 Denn ich weiß: Das wird zu meiner Rettung führen durch euer Gebet und durch die Hilfe des Geistes Jesu Christi.	19 and I shal go on being happy, too, because I know that this is what wil save me, with your prayers andwith the support of the Spirit of Jesus Christ;
20 Darauf warte und hoffe ich, dass ich in keiner Hinsicht beschämt werde, dass vielmehr Christus in aller Öffentlichkeit - wie immer, so auch jetzt - durch meinen Leib verherrlicht wird, ob ich lebe oder sterbe.	20 al in accordance with my most confident hope and trust that I shal never have to admit defeat, but withcomplete fearlessness I shall go on, so that now, as always, Christ wil be glorified in my body, whether by mylife or my death.
21 Denn für mich ist Christus das Leben und Sterben Gewinn.	21 Life to me, of course, is Christ, but then death would be a positive gain.
22 Wenn ich aber weiterleben soll, bedeutet das für mich fruchtbare Arbeit. Was soll ich wählen? Ich weiß es nicht.	22 On the other hand again, if to be alive in the body gives me an opportunity for fruitful work, I do notknow which I should choose.
23 Es zieht mich nach beiden Seiten: Ich sehne mich danach, aufzubrechen und bei Christus zu sein - um wie viel besser wäre das!	23 I am caught in this dilemma: I want to be gone and to be with Christ, and this is by far the strongerdesire-
24 Aber euretwegen ist es notwendiger, dass ich am Leben bleibe.	24 and yet for your sake to stay alive in this body is a more urgent need.
25 Im Vertrauen darauf weiß ich, dass ich bleiben und bei euch allen ausharren werde, um euch im Glauben zu fördern und zu erfreuen,	25 This much I know for certain, that I shal stay and stand by you al , to encourage your advance andyour joy in the faith,
26 damit ihr euch in Christus Jesus umso mehr meiner rühmen könnt, wenn ich wieder zu euch komme.	26 so that my return to be among you may increase to overflowing your pride in Jesus Christ on myaccount.
27 Vor allem: Lebt als Gemeinde so, wie es dem Evangelium Christi entspricht. Ob ich komme und euch sehe oder ob ich fern bin, ich möchte hören, dass ihr in dem einen Geist feststeht, einmütig für den Glauben an das Evangelium kämpft	27 But you must always behave in a way that is worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come toyou and see for myself or whether I only hear al about you from a distance, I shall find that you are standing firmand united in spirit, battling, as a team with a single aim, for the faith of the gospel,
28 und euch in keinem Fall von euren Gegnern einschüchtern lasst. Das wird für sie ein Zeichen dafür sein, dass sie verloren sind und ihr gerettet werdet, ein Zeichen, das von Gott kommt.	28 undismayed by any of your opponents. This will be a clear sign, for them that they are to be lost, andfor you that you are to be saved.
29 Denn euch wurde die Gnade zuteil, für Christus da zu sein, also nicht nur an ihn zu glauben, sondern auch seinetwegen zu leiden.	29 This comes from God, for you have been granted the privilege for Christ's sake not only of believing inhim but of suffering for him as wel ;
30 Denn ihr habt den gleichen Kampf zu bestehen, den ihr früher an mir gesehen habt und von dem ihr auch jetzt hört.	30 you are fighting the same battle which you saw me fighting for him and which you hear I am fightingstill.
