1 Eigentlich ist es unnötig, euch über das Hilfswerk für die Heiligen zu schreiben.	1 Now, concerning the ministry that is done toward the saints, it is not necessary for me to write to you.
2 Denn ich kenne euren guten Willen und rühme euch vor den Mazedoniern, indem ich ihnen sage: Achaia ist seit einem Jahr gerüstet. Und euer Eifer hat viele andere angespornt.	2 For I know your willing mind. I glory about you, concerning this, to the Macedonians. For Achaia has also been prepared, for the past year. And your example has inspired very many others.
3 Trotzdem habe ich die Brüder zu euch geschickt; denn unser Lob für euch könnte in dieser Hinsicht verfrüht gewesen sein. Ihr solltet also jetzt wirklich, wie ich sagte, gerüstet sein.	3 Now I have sent the brothers, so that what we glory about concerning you might be not be empty in this matter, in order that (as I have explained) you may be prepared.
4 Wenn nämlich Mazedonier mit mir kämen und euch noch nicht gerüstet fänden, dann könnte es geschehen, dass wir uns wegen dieser unserer Erwartung zu schämen hätten - um nicht zu sagen, ihr hättet euch zu schämen.	4 Otherwise, if the Macedonians arrive with me and find you unprepared, we (not to mention you) would be ashamed in this matter.
5 Ich hielt es also für notwendig, die Brüder zu bitten, sie möchten vorausreisen und eure in Aussicht gestellte Spende schon jetzt einsammeln, damit sie dann verfügbar ist, und zwar als großzügige Spende, nicht als Gabe des Geizes.	5 Therefore, I considered it necessary to ask the brothers to go to you in advance and to prepare this blessing as promised, and in this way, you may be ready as a blessing, not as an excess.
6 Denkt daran: Wer kärglich sät, wird auch kärglich ernten; wer reichlich sät, wird reichlich ernten.	6 But I say this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. And whoever sows with blessings shall also reap from blessings:
7 Jeder gebe, wie er es sich in seinem Herzen vorgenommen hat, nicht verdrossen und nicht unter Zwang; denn Gott liebt einen fröhlichen Geber.	7 each one giving, just as he has determined in his heart, neither out of sadness, nor out of obligation. For God loves a cheerful giver.
8 In seiner Macht kann Gott alle Gaben über euch ausschütten, sodass euch allezeit in allem alles Nötige ausreichend zur Verfügung steht und ihr noch genug habt, um allen Gutes zu tun,	8 And God is able to make every grace abound in you, so that, always having what you need in all things, you may abound unto every good work,
9 wie es in der Schrift heißt: Reichlich gibt er den Armen; seine Gerechtigkeit hat Bestand für immer.	9 just as it was written: “He has distributed widely, he has given to the poor; his justice remains from age to age.”
10 Gott, der Samen gibt für die Aussaat und Brot zur Nahrung, wird auch euch das Saatgut geben und die Saat aufgehen lassen; er wird die Früchte eurer Gerechtigkeit wachsen lassen.	10 And he who ministers seed to the sower will offer you bread to eat, and will multiply your seed, and will increase the growth of the fruits of your justice.
11 In allem werdet ihr reich genug sein, um selbstlos schenken zu können; und wenn wir diese Gabe überbringen, wird sie Dank an Gott hervorrufen.	11 So then, having been enriched in all things, you may abound in all simplicity, which works thanksgiving to God through us.
12 Denn euer Dienst und eure Opfergabe füllen nicht nur die leeren Hände der Heiligen, sondern werden weiterwirken als vielfältiger Dank an Gott.	12 For the ministration of this office not only supplies whatever the saints need, but also abounds through many thanksgivings in the Lord.
13 Vom Zeugnis eines solchen Dienstes bewegt, werden sie Gott dafür preisen, dass ihr euch gehorsam zum Evangelium Christi bekannt und dass ihr ihnen und allen selbstlos geholfen habt.	13 And so, through the evidence of this ministry, you glorify God by the obedience of your confession in the Gospel of Christ, and by the simplicity of your communion with them and with everyone,
14 In ihrem Gebet für euch werden sie sich angesichts der übergroßen Gnade, die Gott euch geschenkt hat, eng mit euch verbunden fühlen.	14 and they offer prayers for you, being solicitous about you, because of the excellent grace of God within you.
15 Dank sei Gott für sein unfassbares Geschenk.	15 Thanks be to God for his ineffable gift.
