Der erste Brief an die Korinther 9

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Bin ich nicht frei? Bin ich nicht ein Apostel? Habe ich nicht Jesus, unseren Herrn, gesehen? Seid ihr nicht mein Werk im Herrn?	1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?
2 Wenn ich für andere kein Apostel bin, bin ich es doch für euch. Ihr seid ja im Herrn das Siegel meines Apostelamtes.	2 Even if to others I am not an apostle, to you at any rate I am, for you are the seal of my apostolate inthe Lord.
3 Das aber ist meine Rechtfertigung vor denen, die abfällig über mich urteilen:	3 To those who want to interrogate me, this is my answer.
4 Haben wir nicht das Recht, zu essen und zu trinken?	4 Have we not every right to eat and drink?
5 Haben wir nicht das Recht, eine gläubige Frau mitzunehmen, wie die übrigen Apostel und die Brüder des Herrn und wie Kephas?	5 And every right to be accompanied by a Christian wife, like the other apostles, like the brothers of theLord, and like Cephas?
6 Sollen nur ich und Barnabas auf das Recht verzichten, nicht zu arbeiten?	6 Are Barnabas and I the only ones who have no right to stop working?
7 Wer leistet denn Kriegsdienst und bezahlt sich selber den Sold? Wer pflanzt einen Weinberg und isst nicht von seinem Ertrag? Oder wer weidet eine Herde und trinkt nicht von der Milch der Herde?	7 What soldier would ever serve in the army at his own expense? And who is there who would plant avineyard and never eat the fruit from it; or would keep a flock and not feed on the milk from his flock?
8 Sage ich das nur aus menschlicher Einsicht? Sagt das nicht auch das Gesetz?	8 Do not think that this is merely worldly wisdom. Does not the Law say exactly the same? It is written inthe Law of Moses:
9 Im Gesetz des Mose steht doch: Du sollst dem Ochsen zum Dreschen keinen Maulkorb anlegen. Liegt denn Gott etwas an den Ochsen?	9 You must not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the corn. Is it about oxen that God is concernedhere,
10 Sagt er das nicht offensichtlich unseretwegen? Ja, unseretwegen wurde es geschrieben. Denn der Pflüger wie der Drescher sollen ihre Arbeit in der Erwartung tun, ihren Teil zu erhalten.	10 or is it not said entirely for our sake? Clearly it was written for our sake, because it is right thatwhoever ploughs should plough with the expectation of having his share, and whoever threshes should threshwith the expectation of having his share.
11 Wenn wir für euch die Geistesgaben gesät haben, ist es dann zu viel, wenn wir von euch irdische Gaben ernten?	11 If we have sown the seed of spiritual things in you, is it too much to ask that we should receive fromyou a crop of material things?
12 Wenn andere an dem, was euch gehört, teilhaben dürfen, dann erst recht wir. Aber wir haben von diesem Recht keinen Gebrauch gemacht. Vielmehr ertragen wir alles, um dem Evangelium Christi kein Hindernis in den Weg zu legen.	12 Others have been given such rights over you and do we not deserve more? In fact, we have neverexercised this right; on the contrary, we have put up with anything rather than obstruct the gospel of Christ in anyway.
13 Wisst ihr nicht, dass alle, die im Heiligtum Dienst tun, vom Heiligtum leben, und dass alle, die am Altar Dienst tun, vom Altar ihren Anteil erhalten?	13 Do you not realise that the ministers in the Temple get their food from the Temple, and those whoserve at the altar can claim their share from the altar?
14 So hat auch der Herr denen, die das Evangelium verkündigen, geboten, vom Evangelium zu leben.	14 In the same way, the Lord gave the instruction that those who preach the gospel should get their livingfrom the gospel.
15 Ich aber habe all das nicht in Anspruch genommen. Ich schreibe dies auch nicht, damit es in meinem Fall so geschieht. Lieber wollte ich sterben, als dass mir jemand diesen Ruhm entreißt.	15 However, I have never availed myself of any rights of this kind; and I have not written this to securesuch treatment for myself; I would rather die than that . . . No one shal take from me this ground of boasting.
16 Wenn ich nämlich das Evangelium verkünde, kann ich mich deswegen nicht rühmen; denn ein Zwang liegt auf mir. Weh mir, wenn ich das Evangelium nicht verkünde!	16 In fact, preaching the gospel gives me nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion and I should bein trouble if I failed to do it.
17 Wäre es mein freier Entschluss, so erhielte ich Lohn. Wenn es mir aber nicht freisteht, so ist es ein Auftrag, der mir anvertraut wurde.	17 If I did it on my own initiative I would deserve a reward; but if I do it under compulsion I am simplyaccepting a task entrusted to me.
18 Was ist nun mein Lohn? Dass ich das Evangelium unentgeltlich verkünde und so auf mein Recht verzichte.	18 What reward do I have, then? That in my preaching I offer the gospel free of charge to avoid using therights which the gospel al ows me.
19 Da ich also von niemand abhängig war, habe ich mich für alle zum Sklaven gemacht, um möglichst viele zu gewinnen.	19 So though I was not a slave to any human being, I put myself in slavery to al people, to win as manyas I could.
20 Den Juden bin ich ein Jude geworden, um Juden zu gewinnen; denen, die unter dem Gesetz stehen, bin ich, obgleich ich nicht unter dem Gesetz stehe, einer unter dem Gesetz geworden, um die zu gewinnen, die unter dem Gesetz stehen.	20 To the Jews I made myself as a Jew, to win the Jews; to those under the Law as one under the Law(though I am not), in order to win those under the Law;
21 Den Gesetzlosen war ich sozusagen ein Gesetzloser - nicht als ein Gesetzloser vor Gott, sondern gebunden an das Gesetz Christi -, um die Gesetzlosen zu gewinnen.	21 to those outside the Law as one outside the Law, though I am not outside the Law but under Christ'slaw, to win those outside the Law.
22 Den Schwachen wurde ich ein Schwacher, um die Schwachen zu gewinnen. Allen bin ich alles geworden, um auf jeden Fall einige zu retten.	22 To the weak, I made myself weak, to win the weak. I accommodated myself to people in all kinds ofdifferent situations, so that by al possible means I might bring some to salvation.
23 Alles aber tue ich um des Evangeliums willen, um an seiner Verheißung teilzuhaben.	23 Al this I do for the sake of the gospel, that I may share its benefits with others.
24 Wisst ihr nicht, dass die Läufer im Stadion zwar alle laufen, aber dass nur einer den Siegespreis gewinnt? Lauft so, dass ihr ihn gewinnt.	24 Do you not realise that, though al the runners in the stadium take part in the race, only one of themgets the prize? Run like that -- to win.
25 Jeder Wettkämpfer lebt aber völlig enthaltsam; jene tun dies, um einen vergänglichen, wir aber, um einen unvergänglichen Siegeskranz zu gewinnen.	25 Every athlete concentrates completely on training, and this is to win a wreath that wil wither, whereasours wil never wither.
26 Darum laufe ich nicht wie einer, der ziellos läuft, und kämpfe mit der Faust nicht wie einer, der in die Luft schlägt;	26 So that is how I run, not without a clear goal; and how I box, not wasting blows on air.
27 vielmehr züchtige und unterwerfe ich meinen Leib, damit ich nicht anderen predige und selbst verworfen werde.	27 I punish my body and bring it under control, to avoid any risk that, having acted as herald for others, Imyself may be disqualified.
