Der erste Brief an die Korinther 5

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Übrigens hört man von Unzucht unter euch, und zwar von Unzucht, wie sie nicht einmal unter den Heiden vorkommt, dass nämlich einer mit der Frau seines Vaters lebt.	1 It is widely reported that there is sexual immorality among you, immorality of a kind that is not foundeven among gentiles: that one of you is living with his stepmother.
2 Und da macht ihr euch noch wichtig, statt traurig zu werden und den aus eurer Mitte zu stoßen, der so etwas getan hat.	2 And you so fil ed with your own self-importance! It would have been better if you had been grievingbitterly, so that the man who has done this thing were turned out of the community.
3 Was mich angeht, so habe ich - leiblich zwar abwesend, geistig aber anwesend - mein Urteil über den, der sich so vergangen hat, schon jetzt gefällt, als ob ich persönlich anwesend wäre:	3 For my part, however distant I am physical y, I am present in spirit and have already condemned theman who behaved in this way, just as though I were present in person.
4 Im Namen Jesu, unseres Herrn, wollen wir uns versammeln, ihr und mein Geist, und zusammen mit der Kraft Jesu, unseres Herrn,	4 When you have gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus, with the presence of my spirit, and inthe power of our Lord Jesus,
5 diesen Menschen dem Satan übergeben zum Verderben seines Fleisches, damit sein Geist am Tag des Herrn gerettet wird.	5 hand such a man over to Satan, to be destroyed as far as natural life is concerned, so that on the Dayof the Lord his spirit may be saved.
6 Zu Unrecht rühmt ihr euch. Wisst ihr nicht, dass ein wenig Sauerteig den ganzen Teig durchsäuert?	6 Your self-satisfaction is il founded. Do you not realise that only a little yeast leavens the whole batch ofdough?
7 Schafft den alten Sauerteig weg, damit ihr neuer Teig seid. Ihr seid ja schon ungesäuertes Brot; denn als unser Paschalamm ist Christus geopfert worden.	7 Throw out the old yeast so that you can be the fresh dough, unleavened as you are. For our Passoverhas been sacrificed, that is, Christ;
8 Lasst uns also das Fest nicht mit dem alten Sauerteig feiern, nicht mit dem Sauerteig der Bosheit und Schlechtigkeit, sondern mit den ungesäuerten Broten der Aufrichtigkeit und Wahrheit.	8 let us keep the feast, then, with none of the old yeast and no leavening of evil and wickedness, but onlythe unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 Ich habe euch in meinem Brief ermahnt, dass ihr nichts mit Unzüchtigen zu schaffen haben sollt.	9 In my letter, I wrote to you that you should have nothing to do with people living immoral lives.
10 Gemeint waren damit nicht alle Unzüchtigen dieser Welt oder alle Habgierigen und Räuber und Götzendiener; sonst müsstet ihr ja aus der Welt auswandern.	10 I was not including everybody in this present world who is sexually immoral, or everybody who isgreedy, or dishonest or worships false gods -- that would mean you would have to cut yourselves off completelyfrom the world.
11 In Wirklichkeit meinte ich damit: Habt nichts zu schaffen mit einem, der sich Bruder nennt und dennoch Unzucht treibt, habgierig ist, Götzen verehrt, lästert, trinkt oder raubt; mit einem solchen Menschen sollt ihr nicht einmal zusammen essen.	11 In fact what I meant was that you were not to have anything to do with anyone going by the name ofbrother who is sexual y immoral, or is greedy, or worships false gods, or is a slanderer or a drunkard ordishonest; never even have a meal with anybody of that kind.
12 Ich will also nicht Außenstehende richten - ihr richtet ja auch nur solche, die zu euch gehören - ,	12 It is no concern of mine to judge outsiders. It is for you to judge those who are inside, is it not?
13 die Außenstehenden wird Gott richten. Schafft den Übeltäter weg aus eurer Mitte!	13 But outsiders are for God to judge. You must banish this evil-doer from among you.
