Der erste Brief an die Korinther 10

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ihr sollt wissen, Brüder, dass unsere Väter alle unter der Wolke waren, alle durch das Meer zogen	1 I want you to be quite certain, brothers, that our ancestors al had the cloud over them and al passedthrough the sea.
2 und alle auf Mose getauft wurden in der Wolke und im Meer.	2 In the cloud and in the sea they were all baptised into Moses;
3 Alle aßen auch die gleiche gottgeschenkte Speise	3 al ate the same spiritual food
4 und alle tranken den gleichen gottgeschenkten Trank; denn sie tranken aus dem Leben spendenden Felsen, der mit ihnen zog. Und dieser Fels war Christus.	4 and al drank the same spiritual drink, since they drank from the spiritual rock which fol owed them,and that rock was Christ.
5 Gott aber hatte an den meisten von ihnen kein Gefallen; denn er ließ sie in der Wüste umkommen.	5 In spite of this, God was not pleased with most of them, and their corpses were scattered over thedesert.
6 Das aber geschah als warnendes Beispiel für uns: damit wir uns nicht von der Gier nach dem Bösen beherrschen lassen, wie jene sich von der Gier beherrschen ließen.	6 Now these happenings were examples, for our benefit, so that we should never set our hearts, as theydid, on evil things;
7 Werdet nicht Götzendiener wie einige von ihnen; denn es steht in der Schrift: Das Volk setzte sich zum Essen und Trinken; dann standen sie auf, um sich zu vergnügen.	7 nor are you to worship false gods, as some of them did, as it says in scripture: The people sat down toeat and drink, and afterwards got up to amuse themselves.
8 Lasst uns nicht Unzucht treiben, wie einige von ihnen Unzucht trieben. Damals kamen an einem einzigen Tag dreiundzwanzigtausend Menschen um.	8 Nor, again, are we to fall into sexual immorality; some of them did this, and twenty-three thousand mettheir downfal in one day.
9 Wir wollen auch nicht den Herrn auf die Probe stellen, wie es einige von ihnen taten, die dann von Schlangen getötet wurden.	9 And we are not to put the Lord to the test; some of them put him to the test, and they were killed bysnakes.
10 Murrt auch nicht, wie einige von ihnen murrten; sie wurden vom Verderber umgebracht.	10 Never complain; some of them complained, and they were killed by the Destroyer.
11 Das aber geschah an ihnen, damit es uns als Beispiel dient; uns zur Warnung wurde es aufgeschrieben, uns, die das Ende der Zeiten erreicht hat.	11 Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were described in writing to bea lesson for us, to whom it has fallen to live in the last days of the ages.
12 Wer also zu stehen meint, der gebe Acht, dass er nicht fällt.	12 Everyone, no matter how firmly he thinks he is standing, must be careful he does not fall.
13 Noch ist keine Versuchung über euch gekommen, die den Menschen überfordert. Gott ist treu; er wird nicht zulassen, dass ihr über eure Kraft hinaus versucht werdet. Er wird euch in der Versuchung einen Ausweg schaffen, sodass ihr sie bestehen könnt.	13 None of the trials which have come upon you is more than a human being can stand. You can trustthat God wil not let you be put to the test beyond your strength, but with any trial will also provide a way out byenabling you to put up with it.
14 Darum, liebe Brüder, meidet den Götzendienst!	14 For that reason, my dear friends, have nothing to do with the worship of false gods.
15 Ich rede doch zu verständigen Menschen; urteilt selbst über das, was ich sage.	15 I am talking to you as sensible people; weigh up for yourselves what I have to say.
16 Ist der Kelch des Segens, über den wir den Segen sprechen, nicht Teilhabe am Blut Christi? Ist das Brot, das wir brechen, nicht Teilhabe am Leib Christi?	16 The blessing-cup, which we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ; and the loaf of bread which we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?
17 Ein Brot ist es. Darum sind wir viele ein Leib; denn wir alle haben teil an dem einen Brot.	17 And as there is one loaf, so we, although there are many of us, are one single body, for we all sharein the one loaf.
18 Schaut auf das irdische Israel: Haben die, welche von den Opfern essen, nicht teil am Altar?	18 Now compare the natural people of Israel: is it not true that those who eat the sacrifices share thealtar?
19 Was meine ich damit? Ist denn Götzenopferfleisch wirklich etwas? Oder ist ein Götze wirklich etwas?	19 What does this mean? That the dedication of food to false gods amounts to anything? Or that falsegods themselves amount to anything?
20 Nein, aber was man dort opfert, opfert man nicht Gott, sondern den Dämonen. Ich will jedoch nicht, dass ihr euch mit Dämonen einlasst.	20 No, it does not; simply that when pagans sacrifice, what is sacrificed by them is sacrificed to demonswho are not God. I do not want you to share with demons.
21 Ihr könnt nicht den Kelch des Herrn trinken und den Kelch der Dämonen. Ihr könnt nicht Gäste sein am Tisch des Herrn und am Tisch der Dämonen.	21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons as wel ; you cannot have a share at theLord's table and the demons' table as wel .
22 Oder wollen wir die Eifersucht des Herrn wecken ? Sind wir stärker als er?	22 Do we real y want to arouse the Lord's jealousy; are we stronger than he is?
23 «Alles ist erlaubt» - aber nicht alles nützt. «Alles ist erlaubt» - aber nicht alles baut auf.	23 'Everything is permissible'; maybe so, but not everything does good. True, everything is permissible,but not everything builds people up.
24 Denkt dabei nicht an euch selbst, sondern an die anderen.	24 Nobody should be looking for selfish advantage, but everybody for someone else's.
25 Alles, was auf dem Fleischmarkt verkauft wird, das esst, ohne aus Gewissenhaftigkeit nachzuforschen.	25 Eat anything that is sold in butchers' shops; there is no need to ask questions for conscience's sake,
26 Denn dem Herrn gehört die Erde und was sie erfüllt.	26 since To the Lord belong the earth and all it contains.
27 Wenn ein Ungläubiger euch einlädt und ihr hingehen möchtet, dann esst, was euch vorgesetzt wird, ohne aus Gewissensgründen nachzuforschen.	27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal, go if you want to, and eat whatever is put before you; you neednot ask questions of conscience first.
28 Wenn euch aber jemand darauf hinweist: Das ist Opferfleisch!, dann esst nicht davon, mit Rücksicht auf den, der euch aufmerksam macht, und auf das Gewissen;	28 But if someone says to you, 'This food has been offered in sacrifice,' do not eat it, out ofconsideration for the person that told you, for conscience's sake-
29 ich meine das Gewissen des anderen, nicht das eigene; denn (an sich gilt): Warum soll meine Freiheit vom Gewissensurteil eines anderen abhängig sein?	29 not your own conscience, I mean, but the other person's. Why should my freedom be governed bysomebody else's conscience?
30 Wenn ich in Dankbarkeit mitesse, soll ich dann getadelt werden, dass ich etwas esse, wofür ich Dank sage?	30 Provided that I accept it with gratitude, why should I be blamed for eating food for which I givethanks?
31 Ob ihr also esst oder trinkt oder etwas anderes tut: Tut alles zur Verherrlichung Gottes!	31 Whatever you eat, then, or drink, and whatever else you do, do it al for the glory of God.
32 Gebt weder Juden noch Griechen, noch der Kirche Gottes Anlass zu einem Vorwurf!	32 Never be a cause of offence, either to Jews or to Greeks or to the Church of God,
33 Auch ich suche allen in allem entgegenzukommen; ich suche nicht meinen Nutzen, sondern den Nutzen aller, damit sie gerettet werden.	33 just as I try to accommodate everybody in everything, not looking for my own advantage, but for theadvantage of everybody else, so that they may be saved.
