Der Brief an die Römer 15

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Wir müssen als die Starken die Schwäche derer tragen, die schwach sind, und dürfen nicht für uns selbst leben.	1 It is for us who are strong to bear with the susceptibilities of the weaker ones, and not pleaseourselves.
2 Jeder von uns soll Rücksicht auf den Nächsten nehmen, um Gutes zu tun und (die Gemeinde) aufzubauen.	2 Each of us must consider his neighbour's good, so that we support one another.
3 Denn auch Christus hat nicht für sich selbst gelebt; in der Schrift heißt es vielmehr: Die Schmähungen derer, die dich schmähen, haben mich getroffen.	3 Christ did not indulge his own feelings, either; indeed, as scripture says: The insults of those whoinsult you fal on me.
4 Und alles, was einst geschrieben worden ist, ist zu unserer Belehrung geschrieben, damit wir durch Geduld und durch den Trost der Schrift Hoffnung haben.	4 And all these things which were written so long ago were written so that we, learning perseveranceand the encouragement which the scriptures give, should have hope.
5 Der Gott der Geduld und des Trostes schenke euch die Einmütigkeit, die Christus Jesus entspricht,	5 Now the God of perseverance and encouragement give you al the same purpose, fol owing theexample of Christ Jesus,
6 damit ihr Gott, den Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, einträchtig und mit einem Munde preist.	6 so that you may together give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart.
7 Darum nehmt einander an, wie auch Christus uns angenommen hat, zur Ehre Gottes.	7 Accept one another, then, for the sake of God's glory, as Christ accepted you.
8 Denn, das sage ich, Christus ist um der Wahrhaftigkeit Gottes willen Diener der Beschnittenen geworden, damit die Verheißungen an die Väter bestätigt werden.	8 I tel you that Christ's work was to serve the circumcised, fulfil ing the truthfulness of God by carryingout the promises made to the fathers,
9 Die Heiden aber rühmen Gott um seines Erbarmens willen; es steht ja in der Schrift: Darum will ich dich bekennen unter den Heiden und deinem Namen lobsingen.	9 and his work was also for the gentiles, so that they should give glory to God for his faithful love; as scripture says: For this I shall praise you among the nations and sing praise to your name.
10 An anderer Stelle heißt es: Ihr Heiden, freut euch mit seinem Volk!	10 And in another place it says: Nations, rejoice, with his people,
11 Und es heißt auch: Lobt den Herrn, alle Heiden, preisen sollen ihn alle Völker.	11 and in another place again: Praise the Lord, all nations, extol him, al peoples.
12 Und Jesaja sagt: Kommen wird der Spross aus der Wurzel Isais; er wird sich erheben, um über die Heiden zu herrschen. Auf ihn werden die Heiden hoffen.	12 And in Isaiah, it says: The root of Jesse wil appear, he who rises up to rule the nations, and in himthe nations wil put their hope.
13 Der Gott der Hoffnung aber erfülle euch mit aller Freude und mit allem Frieden im Glauben, damit ihr reich werdet an Hoffnung in der Kraft des Heiligen Geistes.	13 May the God of hope fil you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the HolySpirit you may be rich in hope.
14 Meine Brüder, ich bin fest davon überzeugt, dass ihr viel Gutes tut, dass ihr reiche Erkenntnis besitzt und selbst imstande seid, einander zurechtzuweisen.	14 My brothers, I am quite sure that you, in particular, are ful of goodness, ful y instructed and capableof correcting each other.
15 Um euch aber einiges in Erinnerung zu rufen, habe ich euch einen teilweise sehr deutlichen Brief geschrieben. Ich tat es kraft der Gnade, die mir von Gott gegeben ist,	15 But I have special confidence in writing on some points to you, to refresh your memories, because ofthe grace that was given to me by God.
16 damit ich als Diener Christi Jesu für die Heiden wirke und das Evangelium Gottes wie ein Priester verwalte; denn die Heiden sollen eine Opfergabe werden, die Gott gefällt, geheiligt im Heiligen Geist.	16 I was given grace to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, dedicated to offer them the gospelof God, so that gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
17 In Christus Jesus kann ich mich also vor Gott rühmen.	17 So I can be proud, in Christ Jesus, of what I have done for God.
18 Denn ich wage nur von dem zu reden, was Christus, um die Heiden zum Gehorsam zu führen, durch mich in Wort und Tat bewirkt hat,	18 Of course I can dare to speak only of the things which Christ has done through me to win theal egiance of the gentiles, using what I have said and done,
19 in der Kraft von Zeichen und Wundern, in der Kraft des Geistes Gottes. So habe ich von Jerusalem aus in weitem Umkreis bis nach Illyrien überallhin das Evangelium Christi gebracht.	19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God. In this way, from Jerusalemand all round, even as far as Il yricum, I have ful y carried out the preaching of the gospel of Christ;
20 Dabei habe ich darauf geachtet, das Evangelium nicht dort zu verkündigen, wo der Name Christi schon bekannt gemacht war, um nicht auf einem fremden Fundament zu bauen;	20 and what is more, it has been my rule to preach the gospel only where the name of Christ has notalready been heard, for I do not build on another's foundations;
21 denn es heißt in der Schrift: Sehen werden die, denen nichts über ihn verkündet wurde, und die werden verstehen, die nichts gehört haben.	21 in accordance with scripture: Those who have never been told about him wil see him, and thosewho have never heard about him will understand.
22 Das ist es auch, was mich immer wieder gehindert hat, zu euch zu kommen.	22 That is why I have been so often prevented from coming to see you;
23 Jetzt aber habe ich in diesen Gegenden kein neues Arbeitsfeld mehr. Außerdem habe ich mich seit vielen Jahren danach gesehnt, zu euch zu kommen,	23 now, however, as there is nothing more to keep me in these parts, I hope, after longing for manyyears past to visit you, to see you when I am on the way to Spain-
24 wenn ich einmal nach Spanien reise; auf dem Weg dorthin hoffe ich euch zu sehen und dann von euch für die Weiterreise ausgerüstet zu werden, nachdem ich mich einige Zeit an euch erfreut habe.	24 and after enjoying at least something of your company, to be sent on my way with your support.
25 Doch jetzt gehe ich zuerst nach Jerusalem, um den Heiligen einen Dienst zu erweisen.	25 But now I have undertaken to go to Jerusalem in the service of the holy people of God there,
26 Denn Mazedonien und Achaia haben eine Sammlung beschlossen für die Armen unter den Heiligen in Jerusalem.	26 since Macedonia and Achaia have chosen to make a generous contribution to the poor amongGod's holy people at Jerusalem.
27 Sie haben das beschlossen, weil sie ihre Schuldner sind. Denn wenn die Heiden an ihren geistlichen Gütern Anteil erhalten haben, so sind sie auch verpflichtet, ihnen mit irdischen Gütern zu dienen.	27 Yes, they chose to; not that they did not owe it to them. For if the gentiles have been given a sharein their spiritual possessions, then in return to give them help with material possessions is repaying a debt tothem.
28 Wenn ich diese Aufgabe erfüllt und ihnen den Ertrag der Sammlung ordnungsgemäß übergeben habe, will ich euch besuchen und dann nach Spanien weiterreisen.	28 So when I have done this, and given this harvest into their possession, I shall visit you on the way toSpain.
29 Ich weiß aber, wenn ich zu euch komme, werde ich mit der Fülle des Segens Christi kommen.	29 I am sure that, when I do come to you, I shal come with the fullest blessing of Christ.
30 Ich bitte euch, meine Brüder, im Namen Jesu Christi, unseres Herrn, und bei der Liebe des Geistes: Steht mir bei, und betet für mich zu Gott,	30 Meanwhile I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that in yourprayers to God for me you exert yourselves to help me;
31 dass ich vor den Ungläubigen in Judäa gerettet werde, dass mein Dienst in Jerusalem von den Heiligen dankbar aufgenommen wird	31 praying that I may escape the unbelievers in Judaea, and that the aid I am carrying to Jerusalem wilbe acceptable to God's holy people.
32 und dass ich, wenn es Gottes Wille ist, voll Freude zu euch kommen kann, um mit euch eine Zeit der Ruhe zu verbringen.	32 Then I shal come to you, if God wil s, for a happy time of relaxation in your company.
33 Der Gott des Friedens sei mit euch allen! Amen.	33 The God of peace be with you al . Amen.
