1 In der Gemeinde von Antiochia gab es Propheten und Lehrer: Barnabas und Simeon, genannt Niger, Luzius von Zyrene, Manaën, ein Jugendgefährte des Tetrarchen Herodes, und Saulus.	1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 Als sie zu Ehren des Herrn Gottesdienst feierten und fasteten, sprach der Heilige Geist: Wählt mir Barnabas und Saulus zu dem Werk aus, zu dem ich sie mir berufen habe.	2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 Da fasteten und beteten sie, legten ihnen die Hände auf und ließen sie ziehen.	3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 Vom Heiligen Geist ausgesandt, zogen sie nach Seleuzia hinab und segelten von da nach Zypern.	4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
5 Als sie in Salamis angekommen waren, verkündeten sie das Wort Gottes in den Synagogen der Juden. Johannes hatten sie als Helfer bei sich.	5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
6 Sie durchzogen die ganze Insel bis Paphos. Dort trafen sie einen Mann namens Barjesus, einen Zauberer und falschen Propheten, der Jude war	6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:
7 und zum Gefolge des Prokonsuls Sergius Paulus, eines verständigen Mannes, gehörte. Dieser ließ Barnabas und Saulus rufen und wünschte, von ihnen das Wort Gottes zu hören.	7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
8 Aber Elymas, der Zauberer - so wird nämlich der Name Elymas übersetzt -, trat gegen sie auf und wollte den Prokonsul vom Glauben abhalten.	8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
9 Saulus, der auch Paulus heißt, blickte ihn, vom Heiligen Geist erfüllt, an	9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
10 und sagte: Du elender und gerissener Betrüger, du Sohn des Teufels, du Feind aller Gerechtigkeit, willst du nicht endlich aufhören, die geraden Wege des Herrn zu durchkreuzen?	10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11 Jetzt kommt die Hand des Herrn über dich. Du wirst blind sein und eine Zeit lang die Sonne nicht mehr sehen. Im selben Augenblick fiel Finsternis und Dunkel auf ihn, er tappte umher und suchte jemand, der ihn an der Hand führte.	11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
12 Als der Prokonsul das alles sah, wurde er gläubig, denn er war betroffen von der Lehre des Herrn.	12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
13 Von Paphos fuhr Paulus mit seinen Begleitern ab und kam nach Perge in Pamphylien. Johannes aber trennte sich von ihnen und kehrte nach Jerusalem zurück.	13 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
14 Sie selbst wanderten von Perge weiter und kamen nach Antiochia in Pisidien. Dort gingen sie am Sabbat in die Synagoge und setzten sich.	14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
15 Nach der Lesung aus dem Gesetz und den Propheten schickten die Synagogenvorsteher zu ihnen und ließen ihnen sagen: Brüder, wenn ihr ein Wort des Trostes für das Volk habt, so redet.	15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
16 Da stand Paulus auf, gab mit der Hand ein Zeichen und sagte: Ihr Israeliten und ihr Gottesfürchtigen, hört!	16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
17 Der Gott dieses Volkes Israel hat unsere Väter erwählt und das Volk in der Fremde erhöht, in Ägypten; er hat sie mit hoch erhobenem Arm von dort herausgeführt	17 The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
18 und fast vierzig Jahre durch die Wüste getragen.	18 And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
19 Sieben Völker hat er im Land Kanaan vernichtet und ihr Land ihnen zum Besitz gegeben,	19 And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
20 für etwa vierhundertfünfzig Jahre. Danach hat er ihnen Richter gegeben bis zum Propheten Samuel.	20 And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
21 Dann verlangten sie einen König und Gott gab ihnen Saul, den Sohn des Kisch, einen Mann aus dem Stamm Benjamin, für vierzig Jahre.	21 And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
22 Nachdem er ihn verworfen hatte, erhob er David zu ihrem König, von dem er bezeugte: Ich habe David, den Sohn des Isai, als einen Mann nach meinem Herzen gefunden, der alles, was ich will, vollbringen wird.	22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
23 Aus seinem Geschlecht hat Gott dem Volk Israel, der Verheißung gemäß, Jesus als Retter geschickt.	23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
24 Vor dessen Auftreten hat Johannes dem ganzen Volk Israel Umkehr und Taufe verkündigt.	24 When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25 Als Johannes aber seinen Lauf vollendet hatte, sagte er: Ich bin nicht der, für den ihr mich haltet; aber seht, nach mir kommt einer, dem die Sandalen von den Füßen zu lösen ich nicht wert bin.	25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 Brüder, ihr Söhne aus Abrahams Geschlecht und ihr Gottesfürchtigen! Uns wurde das Wort dieses Heils gesandt.	26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
27 Denn die Einwohner von Jerusalem und ihre Führer haben Jesus nicht erkannt, aber sie haben die Worte der Propheten, die an jedem Sabbat vorgelesen werden, erfüllt und haben ihn verurteilt.	27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
28 Obwohl sie nichts fanden, wofür er den Tod verdient hätte, forderten sie von Pilatus seine Hinrichtung.	28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
29 Als sie alles vollbracht hatten, was in der Schrift über ihn gesagt ist, nahmen sie ihn vom Kreuzesholz und legten ihn ins Grab.	29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30 Gott aber hat ihn von den Toten auferweckt,	30 But God raised him from the dead:
31 und er ist viele Tage hindurch denen erschienen, die mit ihm zusammen von Galiläa nach Jerusalem hinaufgezogen waren und die jetzt vor dem Volk seine Zeugen sind.	31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
32 So verkünden wir euch das Evangelium: Gott hat die Verheißung, die an die Väter ergangen ist,	32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33 an uns, ihren Kindern, erfüllt, indem er Jesus auferweckt hat, wie es schon im zweiten Psalm heißt: Mein Sohn bist du, heute habe ich dich gezeugt.	33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
34 Dass er ihn aber von den Toten auferweckt hat, um ihn nicht mehr zur Verwesung zurückkehren zu lassen, hat er so ausgedrückt: Ich will euch die Heilsgaben gewähren, die ich David fest zugesagt habe.	34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35 Darum sagt er auch an einer anderen Stelle: Du lässt deinen Frommen nicht die Verwesung schauen.	35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
36 David aber ist, nachdem er seinen Zeitgenossen gedient hatte, nach Gottes Willen entschlafen und mit seinen Vätern vereint worden. Er hat die Verwesung gesehen;	36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37 der aber, den Gott auferweckte, hat die Verwesung nicht gesehen.	37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38 Ihr sollt also wissen, meine Brüder: Durch diesen wird euch die Vergebung der Sünden verkündet, und in allem, worin euch das Gesetz des Mose nicht gerecht machen konnte,	38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39 wird jeder, der glaubt, durch ihn gerecht gemacht.	39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40 Gebt also Acht, dass nicht eintrifft, was bei den Propheten gesagt ist:	40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41 Schaut hin, ihr Verächter, staunt und erstarrt! Denn ich vollbringe in euren Tagen eine Tat - würde man euch von dieser Tat erzählen, ihr glaubtet es nicht.	41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
42 Als sie hinausgingen, bat man sie, am nächsten Sabbat über diese Worte zu ihnen zu sprechen.	42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Und als die Versammlung sich aufgelöst hatte, schlossen sich viele Juden und fromme Proselyten Paulus und Barnabas an. Diese redeten mit ihnen und ermahnten sie, der Gnade Gottes treu zu bleiben.	43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 Am folgenden Sabbat versammelte sich fast die ganze Stadt, um das Wort des Herrn zu hören.	44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
45 Als die Juden die Scharen sahen, wurden sie eifersüchtig, widersprachen den Worten des Paulus und stießen Lästerungen aus.	45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
46 Paulus und Barnabas aber erklärten freimütig: Euch musste das Wort Gottes zuerst verkündet werden. Da ihr es aber zurückstoßt und euch des ewigen Lebens unwürdig zeigt, wenden wir uns jetzt an die Heiden.	46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 Denn so hat uns der Herr aufgetragen: Ich habe dich zum Licht für die Völker gemacht, bis an das Ende der Erde sollst du das Heil sein.	47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
48 Als die Heiden das hörten, freuten sie sich und priesen das Wort des Herrn; und alle wurden gläubig, die für das ewige Leben bestimmt waren.	48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
49 Das Wort des Herrn aber verbreitete sich in der ganzen Gegend.	49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
50 Die Juden jedoch hetzten die vornehmen gottesfürchtigen Frauen und die Ersten der Stadt auf, veranlassten eine Verfolgung gegen Paulus und Barnabas und vertrieben sie aus ihrem Gebiet.	50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
51 Diese aber schüttelten gegen sie den Staub von ihren Füßen und zogen nach Ikonion.	51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
52 Und die Jünger waren voll Freude und erfüllt vom Heiligen Geist.	52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
