1 Als Jesus am Ufer des Sees Gennesaret stand, drängte sich das Volk um ihn und wollte das Wort Gottes hören.	1 Now it happened that, when the crowds pressed toward him, so that they might hear the word of God, he was standing beside the lake of Genesaret.
2 Da sah er zwei Boote am Ufer liegen. Die Fischer waren ausgestiegen und wuschen ihre Netze.	2 And he saw two boats standing beside the lake. But the fishermen had climbed down, and they were washing their nets.
3 Jesus stieg in das Boot, das dem Simon gehörte, und bat ihn, ein Stück weit vom Land wegzufahren. Dann setzte er sich und lehrte das Volk vom Boot aus.	3 And so, climbing into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, he asked him to draw back a little from the land. And sitting down, he taught the crowds from the boat.
4 Als er seine Rede beendet hatte, sagte er zu Simon: Fahr hinaus auf den See! Dort werft eure Netze zum Fang aus!	4 Then, when he had ceased speaking, he said to Simon, “Lead us into deep water, and release your nets for a catch.”
5 Simon antwortete ihm: Meister, wir haben die ganze Nacht gearbeitet und nichts gefangen. Doch wenn du es sagst, werde ich die Netze auswerfen.	5 And in response, Simon said to him: “Teacher, working throughout the night, we caught nothing. But on your word, I will release the net.”
6 Das taten sie, und sie fingen eine so große Menge Fische, dass ihre Netze zu reißen drohten.	6 And when they had done this, they enclosed such a copious multitude of fish that their net was rupturing.
7 Deshalb winkten sie ihren Gefährten im anderen Boot, sie sollten kommen und ihnen helfen. Sie kamen und gemeinsam füllten sie beide Boote bis zum Rand, sodass sie fast untergingen.	7 And they signaled to their associates, who were in the other boat, so that they would come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were nearly submerged.
8 Als Simon Petrus das sah, fiel er Jesus zu Füßen und sagte: Herr, geh weg von mir; ich bin ein Sünder.	8 But when Simon Peter had seen this, he fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”
9 Denn er und alle seine Begleiter waren erstaunt und erschrocken, weil sie so viele Fische gefangen hatten;	9 For astonishment had enveloped him, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish that they had taken.
10 ebenso ging es Jakobus und Johannes, den Söhnen des Zebedäus, die mit Simon zusammenarbeiteten. Da sagte Jesus zu Simon: Fürchte dich nicht! Von jetzt an wirst du Menschen fangen.	10 Now the same was true of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were associates of Simon. And Jesus said to Simon: “Do not be afraid. From now on, you will be catching men.”
11 Und sie zogen die Boote an Land, ließen alles zurück und folgten ihm nach.	11 And having led their boats to land, leaving behind everything, they followed him.
12 Als Jesus in einer der Städte war, kam ein Mann, der am ganzen Körper Aussatz hatte. Sobald er Jesus sah, warf er sich vor ihm zu Boden und bat ihn: Herr, wenn du willst, kannst du machen, dass ich rein werde.	12 And it happened that, while he was in a certain city, behold, there was a man full of leprosy who, upon seeing Jesus and falling to his face, petitioned him, saying: “Lord, if you are willing, you are able to cleanse me.”
13 Da streckte Jesus die Hand aus, berührte ihn und sagte: Ich will es - werde rein! Im gleichen Augenblick verschwand der Aussatz.	13 And extending his hand, he touched him, saying: “I am willing. Be cleansed.” And at once, the leprosy departed from him.
14 Jesus befahl ihm: Erzähl niemand davon, sondern geh, zeig dich dem Priester und bring das Reinigungsopfer dar, wie es Mose angeordnet hat. Das soll für sie ein Beweis (deiner Heilung) sein.	14 And he instructed him that he should tell no one, “But go, show yourself to the priest, and make the offering for your cleansing, just as Moses has commanded, as a testimony for them.”
15 Sein Ruf verbreitete sich immer mehr, sodass die Menschen von überall herbeiströmten. Sie alle wollten ihn hören und von ihren Krankheiten geheilt werden.	15 Yet word of him traveled around all the more. And great crowds came together, so that they might listen and be cured by him from their infirmities.
16 Doch er zog sich an einen einsamen Ort zurück, um zu beten.	16 And he withdrew into the desert and prayed.
17 Eines Tages, als Jesus wieder lehrte, saßen unter den Zuhörern auch Pharisäer und Gesetzeslehrer; sie waren aus allen Dörfern Galiläas und Judäas und aus Jerusalem gekommen. Und die Kraft des Herrn drängte ihn dazu, zu heilen.	17 And it happened, on a certain day, that he again sat down, teaching. And there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting nearby, who had come from every town of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present, to heal them.
18 Da brachten einige Männer einen Gelähmten auf einer Tragbahre. Sie wollten ihn ins Haus bringen und vor Jesus hinlegen.	18 And behold, some men were carrying in the bed of a man who was paralyzed. And they sought a way to bring him in, and to place him before him.
19 Weil es ihnen aber wegen der vielen Leute nicht möglich war, ihn hineinzubringen, stiegen sie aufs Dach, deckten die Ziegel ab und ließen ihn auf seiner Tragbahre in die Mitte des Raumes hinunter, genau vor Jesus hin.	19 And not finding a way by which they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they climbed up to the roof, and they let him down through the roof tiles with his bed, into their midst, in front of Jesus.
20 Als er ihren Glauben sah, sagte er zu dem Mann: Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben.	20 And when he saw his faith, he said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
21 Da dachten die Schriftgelehrten und die Pharisäer: Wer ist das, dass er eine solche Gotteslästerung wagt? Wer außer Gott kann Sünden vergeben?	21 And the scribes and Pharisees began to think, saying: “Who is this, who is speaking blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins, except God alone?”
22 Jesus aber merkte, was sie dachten, und sagte zu ihnen: Was habt ihr für Gedanken im Herzen?	22 But when Jesus realized their thoughts, responding, he said to them: “What are you thinking in your hearts?
23 Was ist leichter, zu sagen: Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben!, oder zu sagen: Steh auf und geh umher?	23 Which is easier to say: ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk?’
24 Ihr sollt aber erkennen, dass der Menschensohn die Vollmacht hat, hier auf der Erde Sünden zu vergeben. Und er sagte zu dem Gelähmten: Ich sage dir: Steh auf, nimm deine Tragbahre und geh nach Hause!	24 But so that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralytic, “I say to you to: Rise up, take up your bed, and go into your house.”
25 Im gleichen Augenblick stand der Mann vor aller Augen auf. Er nahm die Tragbahre, auf der er gelegen hatte, und ging heim, Gott lobend und preisend.	25 And at once, rising up in their sight, he took up the bed on which he was lying, and he went away to his own house, magnifying God.
26 Da gerieten alle außer sich; sie priesen Gott und sagten voller Furcht: Heute haben wir etwas Unglaubliches gesehen.	26 And astonishment took hold of everyone, and they were magnifying God. And they were filled with fear, saying: “For we have seen miracles today.”
27 Als Jesus von dort wegging, sah er einen Zöllner namens Levi am Zoll sitzen und sagte zu ihm: Folge mir nach!	27 And after these things, he went out, and he saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the customs office. And he said to him, “Follow me.”
28 Da stand Levi auf, verließ alles und folgte ihm.	28 And leaving behind everything, rising up, he followed him.
29 Und er gab für Jesus in seinem Haus ein großes Festmahl. Viele Zöllner und andere Gäste waren mit ihnen bei Tisch.	29 And Levi made a great feast for him in his own house. And there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others, who were sitting at table with them.
30 Da sagten die Pharisäer und ihre Schriftgelehrten voll Unwillen zu seinen Jüngern: Wie könnt ihr zusammen mit Zöllnern und Sündern essen und trinken?	30 But the Pharisees and scribes were murmuring, saying to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”
31 Jesus antwortete ihnen: Nicht die Gesunden brauchen den Arzt, sondern die Kranken.	31 And responding, Jesus said to them: “It is not those who are well who need a doctor, but those who have maladies.
32 Ich bin gekommen, um die Sünder zur Umkehr zu rufen, nicht die Gerechten.	32 I have not come to call the just, but sinners to repentance.”
33 Sie sagten zu ihm: Die Jünger des Johannes fasten und beten viel, ebenso die Jünger der Pharisäer; deine Jünger aber essen und trinken.	33 But they said to him, “Why do the disciples of John fast frequently, and make supplications, and those of the Pharisees act similarly, while yours eat and drink?”
34 Jesus erwiderte ihnen: Könnt ihr denn die Hochzeitsgäste fasten lassen, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist?	34 And he said to them: “How can you cause the sons of the groom to fast, while the groom is still with them?
35 Es werden aber Tage kommen, da wird ihnen der Bräutigam genommen sein; in jenen Tagen werden sie fasten.	35 But the days will come when the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast, in those days.”
36 Und er erzählte ihnen auch noch ein Gleichnis: Niemand schneidet ein Stück von einem neuen Kleid ab und setzt es auf ein altes Kleid; denn das neue Kleid wäre zerschnitten und zu dem alten Kleid würde das Stück von dem neuen nicht passen.	36 Then he also made a comparison for them: “For no one sews a patch from a new garment onto an old garment. Otherwise, he both disrupts the new one, and the patch from the new one does not join together with the old one.
37 Auch füllt niemand neuen Wein in alte Schläuche. Denn der neue Wein zerreißt die Schläuche; er läuft aus und die Schläuche sind unbrauchbar.	37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine ruptures the wineskins, and it will be poured out, and the wineskins will be lost.
38 Neuen Wein muss man in neue Schläuche füllen.	38 Instead, the new wine is put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.
39 Und niemand, der alten Wein getrunken hat, will neuen; denn er sagt: Der alte Wein ist besser.	39 And no one who is drinking the old, soon wishes for the new. For he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”
