1 Und er sagte zu ihnen: Amen, ich sage euch: Von denen, die hier stehen, werden einige den Tod nicht erleiden, bis sie gesehen haben, dass das Reich Gottes in (seiner ganzen) Macht gekommen ist.	1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
2 Sechs Tage danach nahm Jesus Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes beiseite und führte sie auf einen hohen Berg, aber nur sie allein. Und er wurde vor ihren Augen verwandelt;	2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 seine Kleider wurden strahlend weiß, so weiß, wie sie auf Erden kein Bleicher machen kann.	3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 Da erschien vor ihren Augen Elija und mit ihm Mose und sie redeten mit Jesus.	4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5 Petrus sagte zu Jesus: Rabbi, es ist gut, dass wir hier sind. Wir wollen drei Hütten bauen, eine für dich, eine für Mose und eine für Elija.	5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 Er wusste nämlich nicht, was er sagen sollte; denn sie waren vor Furcht ganz benommen.	6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
7 Da kam eine Wolke und warf ihren Schatten auf sie, und aus der Wolke rief eine Stimme: Das ist mein geliebter Sohn; auf ihn sollt ihr hören.	7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
8 Als sie dann um sich blickten, sahen sie auf einmal niemand mehr bei sich außer Jesus.	8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
9 Während sie den Berg hinabstiegen, verbot er ihnen, irgendjemand zu erzählen, was sie gesehen hatten, bis der Menschensohn von den Toten auferstanden sei.	9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
10 Dieses Wort beschäftigte sie und sie fragten einander, was das sei: von den Toten auferstehen.	10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
11 Da fragten sie ihn: Warum sagen die Schriftgelehrten, zuerst müsse Elija kommen?	11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?
12 Er antwortete: Ja, Elija kommt zuerst und stellt alles wieder her. Aber warum heißt es dann vom Menschensohn in der Schrift, er werde viel leiden müssen und verachtet werden?	12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
13 Ich sage euch: Elija ist schon gekommen, doch sie haben mit ihm gemacht, was sie wollten, wie es in der Schrift steht.	13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
14 Als sie zu den anderen Jüngern zurückkamen, sahen sie eine große Menschenmenge um sie versammelt und Schriftgelehrte, die mit ihnen stritten.	14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
15 Sobald die Leute Jesus sahen, liefen sie in großer Erregung auf ihn zu und begrüßten ihn.	15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.
16 Er fragte sie: Warum streitet ihr mit ihnen?	16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
17 Einer aus der Menge antwortete ihm: Meister, ich habe meinen Sohn zu dir gebracht. Er ist von einem stummen Geist besessen;	17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 immer wenn der Geist ihn überfällt, wirft er ihn zu Boden und meinem Sohn tritt Schaum vor den Mund, er knirscht mit den Zähnen und wird starr. Ich habe schon deine Jünger gebeten, den Geist auszutreiben, aber sie hatten nicht die Kraft dazu.	18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 Da sagte er zu ihnen: O du ungläubige Generation! Wie lange muss ich noch bei euch sein? Wie lange muss ich euch noch ertragen? Bringt ihn zu mir!	19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20 Und man führte ihn herbei. Sobald der Geist Jesus sah, zerrte er den Jungen hin und her, sodass er hinfiel und sich mit Schaum vor dem Mund auf dem Boden wälzte.	20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 Jesus fragte den Vater: Wie lange hat er das schon? Der Vater antwortete: Von Kind auf;	21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 oft hat er ihn sogar ins Feuer oder ins Wasser geworfen, um ihn umzubringen. Doch wenn du kannst, hilf uns; hab Mitleid mit uns!	22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23 Jesus sagte zu ihm: Wenn du kannst? Alles kann, wer glaubt.	23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 Da rief der Vater des Jungen: Ich glaube; hilf meinem Unglauben!	24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 Als Jesus sah, dass die Leute zusammenliefen, drohte er dem unreinen Geist und sagte: Ich befehle dir, du stummer und tauber Geist: Verlass ihn und kehr nicht mehr in ihn zurück!	25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 Da zerrte der Geist den Jungen hin und her und verließ ihn mit lautem Geschrei. Der Junge lag da wie tot, so dass alle Leute sagten: Er ist gestorben.	26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 Jesus aber fasste ihn an der Hand und richtete ihn auf, und der Junge erhob sich.	27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28 Als Jesus nach Hause kam und sie allein waren, fragten ihn seine Jünger: Warum konnten denn wir den Dämon nicht austreiben?	28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29 Er antwortete ihnen: Diese Art kann nur durch Gebet ausgetrieben werden.	29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
30 Sie gingen von dort weg und zogen durch Galiläa. Er wollte aber nicht, dass jemand davon erfuhr;	30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
31 denn er wollte seine Jünger über etwas belehren. Er sagte zu ihnen: Der Menschensohn wird den Menschen ausgeliefert und sie werden ihn töten; doch drei Tage nach seinem Tod wird er auferstehen.	31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
32 Aber sie verstanden den Sinn seiner Worte nicht, scheuten sich jedoch, ihn zu fragen.	32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33 Sie kamen nach Kafarnaum. Als er dann im Haus war, fragte er sie: Worüber habt ihr unterwegs gesprochen?	33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
34 Sie schwiegen, denn sie hatten unterwegs miteinander darüber gesprochen, wer (von ihnen) der Größte sei.	34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
35 Da setzte er sich, rief die Zwölf und sagte zu ihnen: Wer der Erste sein will, soll der Letzte von allen und der Diener aller sein.	35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
36 Und er stellte ein Kind in ihre Mitte, nahm es in seine Arme und sagte zu ihnen:	36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
37 Wer ein solches Kind um meinetwillen aufnimmt, der nimmt mich auf; wer aber mich aufnimmt, der nimmt nicht nur mich auf, sondern den, der mich gesandt hat.	37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
38 Da sagte Johannes zu ihm: Meister, wir haben gesehen, wie jemand in deinem Namen Dämonen austrieb; und wir versuchten, ihn daran zu hindern, weil er uns nicht nachfolgt.	38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 Jesus erwiderte: Hindert ihn nicht! Keiner, der in meinem Namen Wunder tut, kann so leicht schlecht von mir reden.	39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40 Denn wer nicht gegen uns ist, der ist für uns.	40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
41 Wer euch auch nur einen Becher Wasser zu trinken gibt, weil ihr zu Christus gehört - amen, ich sage euch: er wird nicht um seinen Lohn kommen.	41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
42 Wer einen von diesen Kleinen, die an mich glauben, zum Bösen verführt, für den wäre es besser, wenn er mit einem Mühlstein um den Hals ins Meer geworfen würde.	42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
43 Wenn dich deine Hand zum Bösen verführt, dann hau sie ab; es ist besser für dich, verstümmelt in das Leben zu gelangen, als mit zwei Händen in die Hölle zu kommen, in das nie erlöschende Feuer.	43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 []	44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 Und wenn dich dein Fuß zum Bösen verführt, dann hau ihn ab; es ist besser für dich, verstümmelt in das Leben zu gelangen, als mit zwei Füßen in die Hölle geworfen zu werden.	45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 []	46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 Und wenn dich dein Auge zum Bösen verführt, dann reiß es aus; es ist besser für dich, einäugig in das Reich Gottes zu kommen, als mit zwei Augen in die Hölle geworfen zu werden,	47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 wo ihr Wurm nicht stirbt und das Feuer nicht erlischt.	48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
49 Denn jeder wird mit Feuer gesalzen werden.	49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 Das Salz ist etwas Gutes. Wenn das Salz die Kraft zum Salzen verliert, womit wollt ihr ihm seine Würze wiedergeben? Habt Salz in euch und haltet Frieden untereinander!	50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
