EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Im ersten Jahr Belschazzars, des Königs von Babel, hatte Daniel einen Traum; auf seinem Lager hatte er eine Vision. Er schrieb den Traum auf und sein Bericht hat folgenden Inhalt:	1 In the first year of Baltasar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream: and the vision of his head was upon his bed: and writing the dream, he comprehended it in few words: and relating the sum of it in short, he said:
2 Ich hatte während der Nacht eine Vision: Die vier Winde des Himmels wühlten das große Meer auf.	2 I saw in my vision by night, and behold the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
3 Dann stiegen aus dem Meer vier große Tiere herauf; jedes hatte eine andere Gestalt.	3 And four great beasts, different one from another, came up out of the sea.
4 Das erste war einem Löwen ähnlich, hatte jedoch Adlerflügel. Während ich es betrachtete, wurden ihm die Flügel ausgerissen; es wurde vom Boden emporgehoben und wie ein Mensch auf zwei Füße gestellt und es wurde ihm ein menschliches Herz gegeben.	4 The first was like a lioness, and had the wings of an eagle: I beheld till her wings were plucked off, and she was lifted up from the earth, and stood upon her feet as a man, and the heart of a man was given to her.
5 Dann erschien ein zweites Tier; es glich einem Bären und war nach einer Seite hin aufgerichtet. Es hielt drei Rippen zwischen den Zähnen in seinem Maul und man ermunterte es: Auf, friss noch viel mehr Fleisch!	5 And behold another beast like a bear stood up on one side: and there were three rows in the mouth thereof, and in the teeth thereof, and thus they said to it: Arise, devour much flesh.
6 Danach sah ich ein anderes Tier; es glich einem Panther, hatte aber auf dem Rücken vier Flügel, wie die Flügel eines Vogels; auch hatte das Tier vier Köpfe; ihm wurde die Macht eines Herrschers verliehen.	6 After this I beheld, and lo, another like a leopard, and it had upon it four wings as of a fowl, and the beast had four heads, and power was given to it.
7 Danach sah ich in meinen nächtlichen Visionen ein viertes Tier; es war furchtbar und schrecklich anzusehen und sehr stark; es hatte große Zähne aus Eisen. Es fraß und zermalmte alles, und was übrig blieb, zertrat es mit den Füßen. Von den anderen Tieren war es völlig verschieden. Auch hatte es zehn Hörner.	7 After this I beheld in the vision of the night, and lo, a fourth beast, terrible and wonderful, and exceeding strong, it had great iron teeth, eating and breaking in pieces, and treading down the rest with its feet: and it was unlike to the other beasts which I had seen before it, and had ten horns.
8 Als ich die Hörner betrachtete, da wuchs zwischen ihnen ein anderes, kleineres Horn empor und vor ihm wurden drei von den früheren Hörnern ausgerissen; und an diesem Horn waren Augen wie Menschenaugen und ein Maul, das anmaßend redete.	8 I considered the horns, and behold another little horn sprung out of the midst of them: and three of the first horns were plucked up at the presence thereof: and behold eyes like the eyes of a man were in this horn, and a mouth speaking great things.
9 Ich sah immer noch hin; da wurden Throne aufgestellt und ein Hochbetagter nahm Platz. Sein Gewand war weiß wie Schnee, sein Haar wie reine Wolle. Feuerflammen waren sein Thron und dessen Räder waren loderndes Feuer.	9 I beheld till thrones were placed, and the Ancient of days sat: his garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like clean wool: his throne like flames of fire: the wheels of it like a burning fire.
10 Ein Strom von Feuer ging von ihm aus. Tausendmal Tausende dienten ihm, zehntausendmal Zehntausende standen vor ihm. Das Gericht nahm Platz und es wurden Bücher aufgeschlagen.	10 A swift stream of fire issued forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times a hundred thousand stood before him: the judgment sat, and the books were opened.
11 Ich sah immer noch hin, bis das Tier - wegen der anmaßenden Worte, die das Horn redete - getötet wurde. Sein Körper wurde dem Feuer übergeben und vernichtet.	11 I beheld because of the voice of the great words which that horn spoke: and I saw that the beast was slain, and the body thereof was destroyed, and given to the fire to be burnt:
12 Auch den anderen Tieren wurde die Herrschaft genommen. Doch ließ man ihnen das Leben bis zu einer bestimmten Frist.	12 And that the power of the other beasts was taken away: and that times of life were appointed them for a time, and time.
13 Immer noch hatte ich die nächtlichen Visionen: Da kam mit den Wolken des Himmels einer wie ein Menschensohn. Er gelangte bis zu dem Hochbetagten und wurde vor ihn geführt.	13 I beheld therefore in the vision of the night, and lo, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and he came even to the Ancient of days: and they presented him before him.
14 Ihm wurden Herrschaft, Würde und Königtum gegeben. Alle Völker, Nationen und Sprachen müssen ihm dienen. Seine Herrschaft ist eine ewige, unvergängliche Herrschaft. Sein Reich geht niemals unter.	14 And he gave him power, and glory, and a kingdom: and all peoples, tribes and tongues shall serve him: his power is an everlasting power that shall not be taken away: and his kingdom that shall not be destroyed.
15 Darüber war ich, Daniel, im Geist bekümmert, und was mir vor Augen stand, erschreckte mich.	15 My spirit trembled, I Daniel was affrighted at these things, and the visions of my head troubled me.
16 Ich wandte mich an einen der Umstehenden und bat ihn, mir das alles genau zu erklären. Er deutete mir die Vorgänge und sagte:	16 I went near to one of them that stood by, and asked the truth of him concerning all these things, and he told me the interpretation of the words, and instructed me:
17 Diese großen Tiere, vier an der Zahl, bedeuten vier Könige, die sich auf der Erde erheben werden.	17 These four great beasts are four kingdoms, which shall arise out of the earth.
18 Das Königtum aber werden die Heiligen des Höchsten erhalten und sie werden es behalten für immer und ewig.	18 But the saints of the most high God shall take the kingdom: and they shall possess the kingdom for ever and ever.
19 Dann wollte ich noch Genaueres über das vierte Tier erfahren, das Tier, das anders war als alle anderen, ganz furchtbar anzusehen, mit Zähnen aus Eisen und mit Klauen aus Bronze, das alles fraß und zermalmte, und was übrig blieb, mit den Füßen zertrat.	19 After this I would diligently learn concerning the fourth beast. which was very different from all, and exceeding terrible: his teeth and claws were of iron: he devoured and broke in pieces, and the rest he stamped upon with his feet:
20 Auch (wollte ich Genaueres erfahren) über die zehn Hörner an seinem Kopf und über das andere Horn, das emporgewachsen war und vor dem die drei Hörner abgefallen waren, das Horn, das Augen und einen Mund hatte, der anmaßend redete, und das schließlich größer als die anderen zu sein schien.	20 And concerning the ten horns that he had on his head: and concerning the other that came up, before which three horns fell: and of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and was greater than the rest.
21 Ich sah dieses Horn gegen die Heiligen kämpfen. Es überwältigte sie,	21 I beheld, and lo, that horn made war against the saints, and prevailed over them,
22 bis der Hochbetagte kam. Da wurde den Heiligen des Höchsten Recht verschafft und es kam die Zeit, in der die Heiligen das Königtum erhielten.	22 Till the Ancient of days came and gave judgment to the saints of the most High, and the time came, and the saints obtained the kingdom.
23 Der (Engel) antwortete mir: Das vierte Tier bedeutet: Ein viertes Reich wird sich auf der Erde erheben, ganz anders als alle anderen Reiche. Es wird die ganze Erde verschlingen, sie zertreten und zermalmen.	23 And thus he said: The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be greater than all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24 Die zehn Hörner bedeuten: In jenem Reich werden zehn Könige regieren; doch nach ihnen kommt ein anderer. Dieser ist ganz anders als die früheren. Er stürzt drei Könige,	24 And the ten horns of the same kingdom, shall be ten kings: and another shall rise up after them, and he shall be mightier than the former, and he shall bring down three kings.
25 er lästert über den Höchsten und unterdrückt die Heiligen des Höchsten. Die Festzeiten und das Gesetz will er ändern. Ihm werden die Heiligen für eine Zeit und zwei Zeiten und eine halbe Zeit ausgeliefert.	25 And he shall speak words against the High One, and shall crush the saints of the most High: and he shall think himself able to change times and laws, and they shall be delivered into his hand until a time, and times, and half a time.
26 Dann aber wird Gericht gehalten. Jenem König wird seine Macht genommen; er wird endgültig ausgetilgt und vernichtet.	26 And judgment shall sit, that his power may be taken away, and be broken in pieces, and perish even to the end.
27 Die Herrschaft und Macht und die Herrlichkeit aller Reiche unter dem ganzen Himmel werden dem Volk der Heiligen des Höchsten gegeben. Sein Reich ist ein ewiges Reich und alle Mächte werden ihm dienen und gehorchen.	27 And that the kingdom, and power, and the greatness of the kingdom, under the whole heaven, may be given to the people of the saints of the most High: whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all kings shall serve him, and shall obey him.
28 Hier endet die Mitteilung. Mich, Daniel, erschreckten meine Gedanken sehr und ich erbleichte. Aber ich bewahrte die Mitteilung in meinem Herzen.	28 Hitherto is the end of the word. I Daniel was much troubled with my thoughts, and my countenance was changed in me: but I kept the word in my heart.
