EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Im achtzehnten Jahr seiner Regierung erging am zweiundzwanzigsten Tag des ersten Monats im Palast Nebukadnezzars, des Königs der Assyrer, der Befehl, an der ganzen Erde das Strafgericht zu vollstrecken, das der König angedroht hatte.	1 And in the eighteenth year, the two and twentieth day of the first month, there was talk in the house of Nabuchodonosor king of the Assyrians that he should, as he said, avenge himself on all the earth.
2 Er rief alle seine Minister und Generäle zusammen, hielt mit ihnen eine geheime Beratung ab und verfügte mit seinem Wort alles Unheil über die Erde.	2 So he called unto him all his officers, and all his nobles, and communicated with them his secret counsel, and concluded the afflicting of the whole earth out of his own mouth.
3 Auch seine Berater waren der Meinung, dass alle zu vernichten seien, die dem Wort des Königs nicht gehorcht hätten.	3 Then they decreed to destroy all flesh, that did not obey the commandment of his mouth.
4 Als Nebukadnezzar, der König der Assyrer, die Beratung beendet hatte, bestellte er Holofernes zu sich, den Oberbefehlshaber seiner Truppen, der nach ihm den höchsten Rang einnahm, und sagte zu ihm:	4 And when he had ended his counsel, Nabuchodonosor king of the Assyrians called Holofernes the chief captain of his army, which was next unto him, and said unto him.
5 So spricht der Großkönig, der Herr der ganzen Erde: Du sollst von hier ausziehen und Männer mit dir nehmen, die auf ihren Mut vertrauen: hundertzwanzigtausend Mann Fußtruppen und ein Aufgebot von zwölftausend Pferden und Reitern.	5 Thus saith the great king, the lord of the whole earth, Behold, thou shalt go forth from my presence, and take with thee men that trust in their own strength, of footmen an hundred and twenty thousand; and the number of horses with their riders twelve thousand.
6 Du sollst gegen alle Länder im Westen zu Feld ziehen, weil sie meinem Wort nicht gehorcht haben.	6 And thou shalt go against all the west country, because they disobeyed my commandment.
7 Befiehl ihnen, schon Erde und Wasser bereitzuhalten. Denn ich will in meinem Zorn gegen sie zu Felde ziehen; die ganze Erde werde ich mit den Füßen meiner Truppen bedecken und den Besitz der Menschen meinen Männern zur Plünderung preisgeben.	7 And thou shalt declare unto that they prepare for me earth and water: for I will go forth in my wrath against them and will cover the whole face of the earth with the feet of mine army, and I will give them for a spoil unto them:
8 Ihre Täler sollen sich mit Gefallenen füllen; jeder Bach und Fluss soll übervoll werden von Toten.	8 So that their slain shall fill their valleys and brooks and the river shall be filled with their dead, till it overflow:
9 Ihre Gefangenen will ich bis an die Grenzen der Erde verschleppen.	9 And I will lead them captives to the utmost parts of all the earth.
10 Zieh also aus und erobere mir ihr ganzes Gebiet! Alle, die sich dir ergeben, sollst du mir aufbewahren für den Tag ihrer Bestrafung.	10 Thou therefore shalt go forth. and take beforehand for me all their coasts: and if they will yield themselves unto thee, thou shalt reserve them for me till the day of their punishment.
11 Alle aber, die Widerstand leisten, sollst du schonungslos dem Tod und der Plünderung preisgeben in deinem ganzen Machtbereich.	11 But concerning them that rebel, let not thine eye spare them; but put them to the slaughter, and spoil them wheresoever thou goest.
12 Bei meinem Leben und bei der Macht meines Königtums - ich habe gesprochen und ich werde meinen Entschluss ausführen.	12 For as I live, and by the power of my kingdom, whatsoever I have spoken, that will I do by mine hand.
13 Du aber wag es nicht, auch nur einen einzigen Befehl deines Herrn zu übertreten. Erfülle, was ich dir befohlen habe; führ es unverzüglich aus!	13 And take thou heed that thou transgress none of the commandments of thy lord, but accomplish them fully, as I have commanded thee, and defer not to do them.
14 Holofernes ging von seinem Herrn weg und rief alle Befehlshaber, Feldherren und Hauptleute der assyrischen Truppen zusammen.	14 Then Holofernes went forth from the presence of his lord, and called ail the governors and captains, and the officers of the army of Assur;
15 Er hob für das Heer die besten Leute aus, wie ihm sein Herr befohlen hatte: hundertzwanzigtausend Mann Fußvolk und zwölftausend berittene Bogenschützen,	15 And he mustered the chosen men for the battle, as his lord had commanded him, unto an hundred and twenty thousand, and twelve thousand archers on horseback;
16 und teilte sie in Kampftruppen ein.	16 And he ranged them, as a great army is ordered for the war.
17 Für den Transport der Kriegsgeräte beschaffte er sich eine gewaltige Menge von Kamelen, Eseln und Maultieren; außerdem brachte er eine unübersehbare Herde von Schafen, Rindern und Ziegen für ihre Verpflegung zusammen,	17 And he took camels and asses for their carriages, a very great number; and sheep and oxen and goats without number for their provision:
18 dazu reichlich Proviant für alle und sehr viel Gold und Silber aus dem Palast des Königs.	18 And plenty of victual for every man of the army, and very much gold and silver out of the king's house.
19 Darauf setzte er sich mit seinem ganzen Heer in Marsch, um dem König Nebukadnezzar voranzuziehen und alle Länder im Westen mit seinen Wagen, Reitern und Elitetruppen zu überfluten.	19 Then he went forth and all his power to go before king Nabuchodonosor in the voyage, and to cover all the face of the earth westward with their chariots, and horsemen, and their chosen footmen.
20 Eine Masse von Hilfsvölkern schloss sich ihnen an, unübersehbar wie ein Heuschreckenschwarm und wie der Sand der Erde; man konnte ihre Menge nicht zählen.	20 A great number also sundry countries came with them like locusts, and like the sand of the earth: for the multitude was without number.
21 Von Ninive zogen sie drei Tagesmärsche weit bis zur Ebene von Bektilet und schlugen jenseits von Bektilet in der Nähe des Gebirges, das im Norden von Ober-Zilizien liegt, ihr Lager auf.	21 And they went forth of Nineve three days' journey toward the plain of Bectileth, and pitched from Bectileth near the mountain which is at the left hand of the upper Cilicia.
22 Von dort rückte Holofernes mit seiner ganzen Streitmacht, seinen Fußtruppen, Reitern und Wagen, gegen das Bergland vor.	22 Then he took all his army, his footmen, and horsemen and chariots, and went from thence into the hill country;
23 Er eroberte Put und Lud und plünderte die Rassiter und Ismaeliter aus, die am Rand der Wüste südlich des Chelëerlandes wohnten.	23 And destroyed Phud and Lud, and spoiled all the children of Rasses, and the children of Israel, which were toward the wilderness at the south of the land of the Chellians.
24 Dann überschritt er den Eufrat und zog durch Mesopotamien; er zerstörte alle befestigten Städte am Fluss Habor bis hin zum Meer.	24 Then he went over Euphrates, and went through Mesopotamia, and destroyed all the high cities that were upon the river Arbonai, till ye come to the sea.
25 Er eroberte das Gebiet von Zilizien und machte alle nieder, die ihm Widerstand leisteten. So kam er in das Gebiet von Jafet, das im Süden liegt und Arabien vorgelagert ist.	25 And he took the borders of Cilicia, and killed all that resisted him, and came to the borders of Japheth, which were toward the south, over against Arabia.
26 Er kreiste alle Midianiter ein, steckte ihre Zeltlager in Brand und raubte ihr Vieh.	26 He compassed also all the children of Madian, and burned up their tabernacles, and spoiled their sheepcotes.
27 Zur Zeit der Weizenernte stieg er in die Ebene von Damaskus hinab, brannte die Felder nieder, vernichtete die Herden, das Klein- und Großvieh, plünderte die Städte, verheerte die Ebenen und erschlug alle jungen Männer mit scharfem Schwert.	27 Then he went down into the plain of Damascus in the time of wheat harvest, and burnt up all their fields, and destroyed their flocks and herds, also he spoiled their cities, and utterly wasted their countries, and smote all their young men with the edge of the sword.
28 Furcht und Zittern befiel alle Bewohner der Küstengebiete, in Sidon und Tyrus, in Sur und Okina sowie alle Einwohner von Jamnia; auch die Einwohner von Aschdod und Aschkelon bekamen große Angst vor ihm.	28 Therefore the fear and dread of him fell upon all the inhabitants of the sea coasts, which were in Sidon and Tyrus, and them that dwelt in Sur and Ocina, and all that dwelt in Jemnaan; and they that dwelt in Azotus and Ascalon feared him greatly.
