1 Joschija feierte in Jerusalem ein Pascha zur Ehre des Herrn. Man schlachtete das Pascha am vierzehnten Tag des ersten Monats.	1 Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2 Er ließ die Priester zu ihrem Dienst antreten und ermunterte sie zu ihrer Tätigkeit im Haus des Herrn.	2 And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,
3 Zu den Leviten, die ganz Israel zu unterweisen hatten und dem Herrn heilig waren, sagte er: Die heilige Lade hat man in das Haus gebracht, das Salomo, der Sohn Davids, der König von Israel, gebaut hat. Ihr braucht sie nicht mehr auf euren Schultern zu tragen. Dient nun dem Herrn, eurem Gott, und seinem Volk Israel!	3 And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,
4 Haltet euch bereit nach euren Großfamilien und euren Abteilungen gemäß der Vorschrift Davids, des Königs von Israel, und der Weisung seines Sohnes Salomo.	4 And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
5 Seid den Familiengruppen eurer Brüder, den Leuten des Volkes, im Heiligtum zu Diensten; ein Teil einer levitischen Großfamilie (soll jeweils bereitstehen).	5 And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.
6 Schlachtet das Pascha und heiligt euch! Bereitet es auch für eure Brüder, damit alles geschieht, was der Herr durch Mose gesagt hat.	6 So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
7 Joschija spendete den Leuten aus dem Volk, die sich eingefunden hatten, 30000 Stück Kleinvieh, Lämmer und junge Ziegen zu Paschaopfern und 3000 Rinder. Sie stammten aus dem Besitz des Königs.	7 And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king's substance.
8 Auch seine hohen Beamten gaben freiwillige Spenden für das Volk, die Priester und die Leviten. Hilkija, Secharja und Jehiël, die Vorsteher des Gotteshauses, gaben den Priestern 2600 Stück Kleinvieh zu Paschaopfern und 300 Rinder.	8 And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.
9 Konanja und seine Brüder Schemaja und Netanel, ferner Haschabja, Jëiël und Josabad, die Vorsteher der Leviten, spendeten für die Leviten 5000 Tiere zu Paschaopfern und 500 Rinder.	9 Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.
10 Als man so zum Dienst gerüstet war, traten die Priester an ihren Platz und die Leviten zu ihren Abteilungen gemäß dem Befehl des Königs.	10 So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king's commandment.
11 Die Leviten schlachteten die Paschaopfer und die Priester sprengten das Blut aus, das sie aus ihrer Hand empfingen. Darauf enthäuteten die Leviten die Tiere.	11 And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.
12 Die zum Brandopfer bestimmten Stücke legten sie beiseite und gaben sie den Familiengruppen des Volkes, damit sie dem Herrn dargebracht würden, wie es im Buch des Mose vorgeschrieben war. Ebenso machten sie es mit den Rindern.	12 And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.
13 Dann brieten sie das Pascha der Vorschrift gemäß am Feuer. Die heiligen Gaben kochten sie in Kesseln, Töpfen und Schüsseln und brachten sie eilends zu allen Angehörigen des Volkes.	13 And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.
14 Hierauf besorgten sie das Pascha für sich selbst und für die Priester; denn die Priester, die Nachkommen Aarons, waren mit der Darbringung der Brandopfer und der Fettstücke bis in die Nacht hinein beschäftigt. Darum bereiteten es die Leviten für sich und die Priester, die Nachkommen Aarons.	14 And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
15 Die Sänger, die Nachkommen Asafs, waren an ihrem Platz gemäß der Vorschrift Davids, Asafs, Hemans und Jedutuns, des königlichen Sehers. Ebenso standen die Torwächter an den einzelnen Toren. Sie brauchten ihren Dienst nicht zu verlassen; denn ihre Amtsbrüder, die Leviten, bereiteten für sie das Pascha.	15 And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
16 So war der gesamte Dienst für den Herrn an jenem Tag gut geordnet. Man feierte das Pascha und brachte auf dem Altar des Herrn Brandopfer dar, wie es König Joschija befohlen hatte.	16 So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.
17 Sieben Tage lang begingen damals die Israeliten, die sich eingefunden hatten, das Pascha und das Fest der Ungesäuerten Brote.	17 And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.
18 Ein Pascha wie dieses war seit den Tagen des Propheten Samuel in Israel nicht mehr gefeiert worden. Keiner von den Königen Israels hat ein Pascha veranstaltet, wie es Joschija mit den Priestern und Leviten, mit ganz Juda und den anwesenden Israeliten und den Einwohnern Jerusalems feierte.	18 And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
19 Im achtzehnten Jahr der Regierung Joschijas wurde dieses Pascha begangen.	19 In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.
20 Nachdem Joschija all dies zur Instandsetzung des Hauses getan hatte, zog Necho, der König von Ägypten, herauf, um bei Karkemisch am Eufrat zu kämpfen. Joschija stellte sich ihm entgegen.	20 After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.
21 Necho aber sandte Boten zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Was habe ich mit dir zu tun, König von Juda? Nicht gegen dich ziehe ich heute, sondern gegen das Herrscherhaus, das mit mir im Krieg steht. Gott hat mir Eile geboten; lass daher ab von Gott, der auf meiner Seite steht; sonst wird er dich verderben.	21 But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.
22 Doch Joschija zog sich nicht vor Necho zurück, sondern wagte es, ihn anzugreifen. Er hörte nicht auf die Worte Nechos, die aus dem Mund Gottes kamen, sondern trat in der Ebene von Megiddo zum Kampf gegen ihn an.	22 Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
23 Aber die Bogenschützen trafen den König Joschija, der nun seinen Dienern zurief: Bringt mich weg, denn ich bin schwer verwundet.	23 And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.
24 Sie hoben ihn vom Kriegswagen, setzten ihn auf seinen zweiten Wagen und brachten ihn nach Jerusalem. Dort starb er und wurde in den Gräbern seiner Väter beigesetzt. Ganz Juda und Jerusalem trauerten um Joschija.	24 His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.
25 Jeremia aber hielt Klage über Joschija und alle Sänger und Sängerinnen singen auf ihn Klagelieder bis zum heutigen Tag. Es wurde dies zu einem festen Brauch in Israel. Sie sind aufgezeichnet in den Klageliedern.	25 And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.
26 Die übrige Geschichte Joschijas und seine frommen Taten, die ganz dem entsprachen, was im Gesetz des Herrn vorgeschrieben ist,	26 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,
27 seine frühere und spätere Geschichte, all das ist aufgezeichnet im Buch der Könige von Israel und Juda.	27 And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
