1 Darauf wandte sich König David an die ganze Versammlung: Mein Sohn Salomo, den allein Gott erwählt hat, ist noch jung und unerfahren. Das Werk aber ist groß; denn wir bauen nicht für Menschen, sondern für Gott, den Herrn.	1 King David then said to the whole assembly: "My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and immature; the work, however, is great, for this castle is not intended for man, but for the LORD God.
2 Nach meinen besten Kräften habe ich nun für das Haus meines Gottes Gold beschafft für die goldenen, Silber für die silbernen, Bronze für die bronzenen, Eisen für die eisernen und Holz für die hölzernen Gegenstände, dazu Schohamsteine mit Einfassungen, Malachit und buntfarbige Steine sowie allerlei Edelsteine und Alabaster in Menge.	2 For this reason I have stored up for the house of my God, as far as I was able, gold for what will be made of gold, silver for what will be made of silver, bronze for what will be made of bronze, iron for what will be made of iron, wood for what will be made of wood, onyx stones and settings for them, carnelian and mosaic stones, every other kind of precious stone, and great quantities of marble.
3 Aus Liebe zum Haus meines Gottes spende ich aus meinem Besitz, meinem Gold und Silber, über all das hinaus, was ich für das Haus des Heiligtums schon bereitgestellt habe,	3 But now, because of the delight I take in the house of my God, in addition to all that I stored up for the holy house, I give to the house of my God my personal fortune in gold and silver:
4 noch weitere 3000 Talente Gold vom Ofirgold und 7000 Talente geläutertes Silber. Man soll damit die Wände der Räume verkleiden	4 three thousand talents of Ophir gold, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the rooms,
5 und Gold zur Verfügung haben für die goldenen und Silber für die silbernen Gegenstände und für jede Arbeit von Künstlerhand. Wer ist nun bereit, seine Hand ebenso für den Herrn zu füllen?	5 for the various utensils to be made of gold and silver, and for every work that is to be done by artisans. Now, who else is willing to contribute generously this day to the LORD?"
6 Da zeigten die Häupter der Großfamilien, die Vorsteher der israelitischen Stämme, die Obersten der Tausend- und Hundertschaften und die obersten Beamten des königlichen Dienstes ihre Freigebigkeit.	6 Then the heads of the families, the leaders of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the overseers of the king's affairs came forward willingly
7 Sie spendeten für den Bau des Hauses Gottes 5000 Talente Gold, 10000 Golddariken, 10000 Talente Silber, 18000 Talente Bronze, 100000 Talente Eisen.	7 and contributed for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.
8 Wer Edelsteine besaß, gab sie zum Schatz des Hauses des Herrn in die Hände Jehiëls, eines Nachkommen Gerschons.	8 Those who had precious stones gave them into the keeping of Jehiel the Gershonite for the treasury of the house of the LORD.
9 Das Volk freute sich über diese Freigebigkeit, denn sie hatten mit ungeteiltem Herzen willig für den Herrn gespendet. Auch König David hatte eine große Freude.	9 The people rejoiced over these free-will offerings, which had been contributed to the LORD wholeheartedly. King David also rejoiced greatly.
10 Da pries David den Herrn vor der ganzen Versammlung und rief: Gepriesen bist du, Herr, Gott unseres Vaters Israel, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit.	10 Then David blessed the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, praying in these words: "Blessed may you be, O LORD, God of Israel our father, from eternity to eternity.
11 Dein, Herr, sind Größe und Kraft, Ruhm und Glanz und Hoheit; dein ist alles im Himmel und auf Erden. Herr, dein ist das Königtum. Du erhebst dich als Haupt über alles.	11 "Yours, O LORD, are grandeur and power, majesty, splendor, and glory. For all in heaven and on earth is yours; yours, O LORD, is the sovereignty; you are exalted as head over all.
12 Reichtum und Ehre kommen von dir; du bist der Herrscher über das All. In deiner Hand liegen Kraft und Stärke; von deiner Hand kommt alle Größe und Macht.	12 "Riches and honor are from you, and you have dominion over all. In your hand are power and might; it is yours to give grandeur and strength to all.
13 Darum danken wir dir, unser Gott, und rühmen deinen herrlichen Namen.	13 Therefore, our God, we give you thanks and we praise the majesty of your name."
14 Doch wer bin ich und was ist mein Volk, dass wir die Kraft besaßen, diese Gaben zu spenden? Von dir kommt ja alles; und was wir dir gegeben haben, stammt aus deiner Hand.	14 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should have the means to contribute so freely? For everything is from you, and we only give you what we have received from you.
15 Denn wir sind nur Gäste bei dir, Fremdlinge, wie alle unsere Väter. Wie ein Schatten sind unsere Tage auf Erden und ohne Hoffnung.	15 For we stand before you as aliens: we are only your guests, like all our fathers. Our life on earth is like a shadow that does not abide.
16 Herr, unser Gott, diese ganze Fülle, die wir bereitgestellt haben, um dir, deinem heiligen Namen, ein Haus zu bauen, kam aus deiner Hand; dir gehört alles.	16 O LORD our God, all this wealth that we have brought together to build you a house in honor of your holy name comes from you and is entirely yours.
17 Ich weiß, mein Gott, dass du die Herzen prüfst und an Aufrichtigkeit Gefallen hast. Mit aufrichtigem Herzen habe ich dies alles gegeben und ich habe mit Freuden gesehen, wie auch dein Volk, das sich hier eingefunden hat, dir willig spendet.	17 I know, O my God, that you put hearts to the test and that you take pleasure in uprightness. With a sincere heart I have willingly given all these things, and now with joy I have seen your people here present also giving to you generously.
18 Herr, Gott unserer Väter Abraham, Isaak und Israel, erhalte diese Gesinnung für immer im Herzen deines Volkes! Lenke sein Herz auf dich!	18 O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep such thoughts in the hearts and minds of your people forever, and direct their hearts toward you.
19 Gib auch meinem Sohn Salomo ein ungeteiltes Herz, damit er auf deine Gebote, Anordnungen und Gesetze achtet und alles tut, um den Bau zu errichten, den ich vorbereitet habe.	19 Give to my son Solomon a wholehearted desire to keep your commandments, precepts, and statutes, that he may carry out all these plans and build the castle for which I have made preparation."
20 Dann befahl David der ganzen Versammlung: Preist den Herrn, euren Gott! Und die ganze Versammlung lobte den Herrn, den Gott ihrer Väter. Sie verneigten sich und warfen sich nieder vor dem Herrn und dem König.	20 Then David besought the whole assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God!" And the whole assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, bowing down and prostrating themselves before the LORD and before the king.
21 Am folgenden Tag brachten sie dem Herrn Opfer dar. Sie spendeten zu Brandopfern tausend Stiere, tausend Widder, tausend Lämmer sowie die dazugehörenden Trankopfer. Dazu kam eine Menge Schlachtopfer für ganz Israel.	21 On the following day they offered sacrifices and holocausts to the LORD, a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, together with their libations and many other sacrifices for all Israel;
22 Voller Freude aßen und tranken sie an jenem Tag vor dem Herrn und machten Salomo, den Sohn Davids, zum zweiten Mal zum König. Sie salbten ihn zum Fürsten des Herrn und Zadok salbten sie zum Priester.	22 and on that day they ate and drank in the LORD'S presence with great rejoicing. Then for a second time they proclaimed David's son Solomon king, and they anointed him as the LORD'S prince, and Zadok as priest.
23 Salomo setzte sich nun anstelle seines Vaters David als König auf den Thron des Herrn. Er hatte Glück und ganz Israel leistete ihm Gehorsam.	23 Thereafter Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David; he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.
24 Alle hohen Beamten und Helden, auch alle Söhne des Königs David, unterwarfen sich Salomo.	24 All the leaders and warriors, and also all the other sons of King David, swore allegiance to King Solomon.
25 Der Herr ließ Salomo überaus mächtig werden vor den Augen Israels. Er verlieh seinem Königtum einen Glanz, wie ihn kein König in Israel vor ihm besessen hatte.	25 And the LORD exalted Solomon greatly in the eyes of all Israel, giving him a glorious reign such as had not been enjoyed by any king over Israel before him.
26 David, der Sohn Isais, war König von ganz Israel.	26 Thus David, the son of Jesse, had reigned over all Israel.
27 Die Zeit, die er in Israel regierte, betrug vierzig Jahre. In Hebron regierte er sieben und in Jerusalem dreiunddreißig Jahre.	27 The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem thirty-three.
28 Er starb in hohem Alter, satt an Tagen, Reichtum und Ehre. Sein Sohn Salomo wurde König an seiner Stelle.	28 He died at a ripe old age, rich in years and wealth and glory, and his son Solomon succeeded him as king.
29 Die frühere und die spätere Geschichte des Königs David ist aufgezeichnet in der Geschichte des Sehers Samuel, in der Geschichte des Propheten Natan und in der Geschichte des Sehers Gad.	29 Now the deeds of King David, first and last, can be found written in the history of Samuel the seer, the history of Nathan the prophet, and the history of Gad the seer,
30 Sie berichten von seiner ganzen Regierung, seiner Machtentfaltung und von den Zeiten, die über ihn, über Israel und alle Reiche der Länder hinweggegangen sind.	30 together with the particulars of his reign and valor, and of the events that affected him and all Israel and all the kingdoms of the surrounding lands.
