1 David versammelte in Jerusalem alle führenden Männer Israels, die Vorsteher der Stämme und der Abteilungen, die im Dienst des Königs standen, die Obersten der Tausend- und der Hundertschaften, die Verwalter des ganzen Eigentums und des Viehbesitzes des Königs und seiner Söhne, dazu die Hofbeamten, die Helden und alle tapferen Krieger.	1 And so David called together all the leaders of Israel, the rulers of the tribes, and those in charge of the companies, who were ministering to the king, and also the tribunes and centurions, and those in charge of the substance and possessions of the king, and his sons, with the eunuchs and the powerful and those most experienced in the army, at Jerusalem.
2 Dabei erhob sich König David und sagte: Hört mich an, meine Brüder und mein Volk! Ich selbst hatte vor, für die Bundeslade des Herrn, den Fußschemel unseres Gottes, eine Ruhestätte zu errichten, und traf Vorbereitungen für den Bau.	2 And when the king had risen up and was standing, he said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I thought that I would build a house, in which the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the footstool of our God, might rest. And so I prepared everything for its building.
3 Doch Gott sprach zu mir: Du sollst meinem Namen kein Haus bauen; denn du hast Kriege geführt und Blut vergossen.	3 But God said to me: ‘You shall not build a house to my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’
4 Der Herr, der Gott Israels, hat mich aus dem ganzen Haus meines Vaters für immer zum König von Israel auserwählt. Er hat Juda zur Herrschaft bestimmt und im Haus Juda das Haus meines Vaters. Unter den Söhnen meines Vaters hat er an mir Gefallen gefunden, sodass er mich zum König über Israel machte.	4 Now the Lord God of Israel chose me, out of the entire house of my father, so that I would be king over Israel forever. For from Judah he chose leaders; then from the house of Judah he chose the house of my father; and from the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me as king over all of Israel.
5 Unter allen meinen Söhnen aber - der Herr hat mir ja viele Söhne geschenkt - hat er meinen Sohn Salomo erwählt, dass er auf dem Königsthron des Herrn über Israel herrscht.	5 Then too, among my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he chose Solomon my son, so that he would sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord, over Israel.
6 Er sprach zu mir: Dein Sohn Salomo soll mein Haus und meine Höfe bauen; denn ihn habe ich mir zum Sohn erwählt und ich werde ihm Vater sein.	6 And he said to me: ‘Solomon your son shall build my house and my courts. For I have chosen him to be to me as a son, and I will be to him as a father.
7 Ich will seinem Königtum ewigen Bestand verleihen, wenn er mannhaft meine Gebote und Anordnungen befolgt, wie es heute der Fall ist.	7 And I will make firm his kingdom, even unto eternity, if he will persevere in doing my precepts and judgments, as also today.’
8 Und nun ermahne ich euch vor den Augen ganz Israels, der Versammlung des Herrn, und vor den Ohren unseres Gottes: Achtet auf alle Gebote des Herrn, eures Gottes, und befolgt sie, damit ihr im Besitz des prächtigen Landes bleibt und es für immer auf eure Söhne nach euch vererben könnt.	8 Now therefore, before the entire assembly of Israel, in the hearing of our God, keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God, so that you may possess the good land, and may bequeath it to your sons after you, even forever.
9 Du aber, mein Sohn Salomo, erkenne den Gott deines Vaters; diene ihm mit ungeteiltem Herzen und williger Seele; denn der Herr erforscht alle Herzen und kennt jedes Sinnen der Gedanken. Wenn du ihn suchst, lässt er sich von dir finden. Wenn du ihn aber verlässt, verwirft er dich auf ewig.	9 And as for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts, and understands the thoughts of all minds. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will cast you aside for eternity.
10 Sieh nun zu: Der Herr hat dich erwählt, dass du ihm ein Haus als Heiligtum erbaust. Sei mutig und geh ans Werk!	10 Now therefore, since the Lord has chosen you, so that you would build the house of the Sanctuary, be strengthened and accomplish it.”
11 Darauf übergab David seinem Sohn Salomo den Plan der Vorhalle, des Hauptraums mit seinen Schatzkammern, Obergemächern und Innenräumen und des Raums der Deckplatte	11 Then David gave to his son Solomon a description of the portico, and the temple, and the storerooms, and the upper floor, and the innermost rooms, and the house of propitiation,
12 sowie den Plan von allem, was er sich für die Höfe des Tempels und für alle Kammern ringsum vorgenommen hatte. Er gab Anweisungen über die Schätze des Gotteshauses und die Schätze aus den Weihegaben,	12 and indeed also of all the courts that he had planned, and the outer rooms on all sides, for the treasuries of the house of the Lord, and for the treasuries of the holy things,
13 über die Abteilungen der Priester und Leviten, über den Vollzug des gesamten Dienstes am Haus des Herrn und über alle Geräte, die man zum Dienst im Haus des Herrn benötigte.	13 and for the divisions of the priests and the Levites: concerning all the works of the house of the Lord and all the items in the ministry of the temple of the Lord.
14 Dazu übergab er ihm seine Berechnungen über das Gold, mit Angabe des Gewichtes des Goldes für jedes einzelne Dienstgerät, und über alle silbernen Geräte, mit Angabe des Gewichtes eines jeden Dienstgerätes.	14 There was gold by weight for every vessel of the ministry, and also silver by weight for the diversity of vessels and equipment.
15 Er nannte ihm das Gewicht der goldenen Leuchter mit ihren goldenen Lampen, mit Angabe des Gewichtes eines jeden Leuchters und seiner Lampen, sowie der silbernen Leuchter, mit Angabe des Gewichtes eines jeden Leuchters und seiner Lampen, entsprechend der Verwendung eines jeden Leuchters.	15 Then too, he distributed gold for the lampstands and their lamps, according to the measure of each of the lampstands with their lamps. Similarly also, he distributed silver by weight for the silver lampstands with their lamps, according to the diversity of their measure.
16 Er bestimmte das Gold mit Angabe des Gewichtes für die einzelnen Schaubrotetische und des Silbers für die silbernen Tische.	16 Also, he gave gold for the tables of the presence, according to the diversity of the tables; similarly too, he gave silver for the other tables of silver.
17 Ebenso gab er ihm Auskunft über die Gabeln, Schalen und Kannen aus purem Gold, über die goldenen Becher, mit Angabe des Gewichtes eines jeden Bechers, auch über die silbernen Becher, mit Angabe des Gewichtes eines jeden Bechers.	17 Also, he distributed from the purest gold for the small hooks and the bowls and the censors, as well as for the little lions of gold, in accord with the precise measure of the weight, for lion after lion. Similarly too, for the lions of silver, he set aside a different weight of silver.
18 Er verordnete geläutertes Gold für den Räucheraltar, mit Angabe des Gewichtes, und Gold für den Aufbau des Thronwagens, die Kerubim, die ihre Flügel ausbreiteten und die Bundeslade des Herrn bedeckten.	18 Then, for the altar on which the incense was burned, he gave the purest gold. And from the same he made the likeness of the chariot of the Cherubim, with extended wings, which is veiling the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
19 All das legte er dar in einer Schrift aus der Hand des Herrn, die über ihm ruhte, und erörterte alle Arbeiten, die der Plan vorsah.	19 “All these things,” he said, “came to me written by the hand of the Lord, so that I would understand all the works of the pattern.”
20 Dann sagte David zu seinem Sohn Salomo: Sei mutig und stark! Geh ans Werk! Fürchte dich nicht und verzage nicht! Denn der Herr, mein Gott, wird mit dir sein. Er wird dich nicht erlahmen lassen und dich nicht im Stich lassen, bis alle Arbeiten für den Dienst des Hauses des Herrn zu Ende geführt sind.	20 David also said to his son Solomon: “Act manfully, and be strengthened, and carry it out. You should not be afraid, and you should not be dismayed. For the Lord my God will be with you, and he will not send you away, nor will he abandon you, until you have perfected the entire work of the ministry of the house of the Lord.
21 Sieh, die Abteilungen der Priester und Leviten stehen da, zu jeder Dienstleistung im Haus Gottes bereit. Bei jeder Arbeit und zu jedem Dienst werden dir alle willig nach ihren Fähigkeiten beistehen; ebenso werden dir die führenden Männer und das ganze Volk in jeder Angelegenheit zur Seite stehen.	21 Behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for every ministry of the house of the Lord, are standing before you. And they have been prepared, and so they know, both the leaders and the people, how to carry out all your precepts.”
