1 Unto the end, for them that shall he changed, a testimony for Asaph, a psalm.	1 Du maître de chant. Sur l'air: Des lys sont les préceptes. D'Asaph.Psaume.
2 Give ear, O thou that rulest Israel: thou that leadest Joseph like a sheep. Thou that sittest upon the cherubims, shine forth	2 Pasteur d'Israël, écoute, toi qui mènes Joseph comme un troupeau; toi qui sièges sur les Chérubins,resplendis
3 before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasses. Stir up thy might, and come to save us.	3 devant Ephraïm, Benjamin et Manassé, réveille ta vaillance et viens à notre secours.
4 Convert us, O God: and shew us thy face, and we shall be saved.	4 Dieu, fais-nous revenir, fais luire ta face et nous serons sauvés.
5 O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy servant?	5 Jusques à quand, Yahvé Dieu Sabaot, prendras-tu feu contre la prière de ton peuple?
6 How long wilt thou feed us with the bread of tears: and give us for our drink tears in measure?	6 Tu l'as nourri d'un pain de larmes, abreuvé de larmes à triple mesure;
7 Thou hast made us to be a contradiction to our neighbours: and our enemies have scoffed at us.	7 tu fais de nous une question pour nos voisins et nos ennemis se moquent de nous.
8 O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.	8 Dieu Sabaot, fais-nous revenir, fais luire ta face et nous serons sauvés.
9 Thou hast brought a vineyard out of Egypt: thou hast cast cut the Gentiles and planted it.	9 Il était une vigne: tu l'arraches d'Egypte, tu chasses des nations pour la planter;
10 Thou wast the guide of its journey in its sight: thou plantedst the roots thereof, and it filled the land.	10 devant elle tu fais place nette, elle prend racine et remplit le pays.
11 The shadow of it covered the hills: and the branches thereof the cedars of God.	11 Les montagnes étaient couvertes de son ombre, et de ses pampres les cèdres de Dieu;
12 It stretched forth its branches unto the sea, and its boughs unto the river.	12 elle étendait ses sarments jusqu'à la mer et du côté du Fleuve ses rejetons.
13 Why hast thou broken down the hedge thereof, so that all they who pass by the way do pluck it?	13 Pourquoi as-tu rompu ses clôtures, et tout passant du chemin la grappille,
14 The boar out of the wood hath laid it waste: and a singular wild beast hath devoured it.	14 le sanglier des forêts la ravage et la bête des champs la dévore?
15 Turn again, O God of hosts, look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vineyard:	15 Dieu Sabaot, reviens enfin, observe des cieux et vois, visite cette vigne:
16 And perfect the same which thy right hand hath planted: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.	16 protège-la, celle que ta droite a plantée.
17 Things set on fire and dug down shall perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.	17 Ils l'ont brûlée par le feu comme une ordure, au reproche de ta face ils périront.
18 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.	18 Ta main soit sur l'homme de ta droite, le fils d'Adam que tu as confirmé!
19 And we depart not from thee, thou shalt quicken us: and we will call upon thy name.	19 Jamais plus nous n'irons loin de toi; rends-nous la vie, qu'on invoque ton nom.
20 O Lord God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.	20 Yahvé Dieu Sabaot, fais-nous revenir, fais luire ta face et nous serons sauvés.
