1 Then Baldad the Suhite answered, and said:	1 Da antwortete Bildad von Schuach und sprach:
2 How long will you throw out words? understand first, and so let us speak.	2 Wann endlich macht ihr Schluss mit den Reden? Nehmt Einsicht an, dann reden wir.
3 Why are we reputed as beasts, and counted vile before you?	3 Warum sind wir wie Vieh geachtet, gelten als unrein in euren Augen?
4 Thou that destroyest thy soul in thy fury, shall the earth be forsaken for thee, and shall rocks be removed out of their place?	4 Du, der sich selbst zerfleischt in seinem Zorn, soll deinetwegen die Erde sich entvölkern, der Fels von seiner Stelle rücken?
5 Shall not the light of the wicked be extinguished, and the flame of his fire not shine?	5 Ja, der Frevler Licht erlischt, die Flamme seines Feuers strahlt nicht auf.
6 The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and the lamp that is over him, shall be put out.	6 Das Licht in seinem Zelte dunkelt, seine Leuchte über ihm erlischt.
7 The step of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down headlong.	7 Eng wird sein gewaltiger Schritt, sein eigner Plan bringt ihn zu Fall.
8 For he hath thrust his feet into a net, and walketh in its meshes.	8 Denn mit seinen Füßen gerät er ins Netz und über Flechtwerk schreitet er dahin.
9 The sole of his foot shall be held in a snare, and thirst shall burn against him.	9 Das Klappnetz packt ihn an der Ferse, die Schlinge hält ihn fest.
10 A gin is hidden for him in the earth, and his trap upon the path.	10 Versteckt am Boden liegt sein Fangstrick, die Falle für ihn auf dem Pfad.
11 Fears shall terrify him on every side, and shall entangle his feet.	11 Ringsum ängstigen ihn Schrecken und scheuchen ihn auf Schritt und Tritt.
12 Let his strength be wasted with famine, and let hunger invade his ribs.	12 Hungrig nach ihm ist sein Unheil, das Verderben steht bereit zu seinem Sturz.
13 Let it devour the beauty of his skin, let the firstborn death consume his arms.	13 Es frisst die Glieder seines Leibes, seine Glieder frisst des Todes Erstgeborener.
14 Let his confidence be rooted out of his tabernacle, and let destruction tread upon him like a king.	14 Ausgerissen wird aus seinem Zelt die Zuversicht, du treibst ihn fort zum König der Schrecken.
15 Let the companions of him that is not, dwell in his tabernacle, let brimstone be sprinkled in his tent.	15 Ihm Fremdes wohnt in seinem Zelt, Schwefel wird auf seinen Hof gestreut.
16 Let his roots be dried up beneath, and his harvest destroyed above.	16 Von unten her verdorren seine Wurzeln, von oben welken seine Zweige.
17 Let the memory of him perish from the earth and let not his name be renowned in the streets.	17 Sein Andenken schwindet von der Erde, kein Name bleibt ihm weit und breit.
18 He shall drive him out of light into darkness, and shall remove him out of the world.	18 Sie stoßen ihn vom Licht ins Dunkel und jagen ihn vom Erdkreis fort.
19 His seed shall not subsist, nor his offspring among his people, nor any remnants in his country.	19 Kein Spross, kein Stamm bleibt ihm in seinem Volk, am Ort seines Aufenthaltes keiner, der ihn überlebt.
20 They that come after him shall be astonished at his day, and horror shall fall upon them that went before.	20 Über seinen Tag schaudern die im Westen, die im Osten packt das Grauen.
21 These men are the tabernacles of the wicked, and this the place of him that knoweth not God.	21 Ja, so geht es mit der Wohnung des Frevlers, mit dem Ort des Menschen, der Gott nicht kennt.
