1 These are the generations of the sons of Noe: Sem, Cham, and Japheth: and unto them sons were born after the flood.	1 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge nach den Söhnen Noachs, Sem, Ham und Jafet. Ihnen wurden nach der Flut Söhne geboren.
2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Thubal, and Mosoch, and Thiras.	2 Die Söhne Jafets sind Gomer, Magog, Madai, Jawan, Tubal, Meschech und Tiras.
3 And the sons of Gomer: Ascenez and Riphath and Thogorma.	3 Die Söhne Gomers sind Aschkenas, Rifat und Togarma.
4 And the sons of Javan: Elisa and Tharsis, Cetthim, and Dodanim.	4 Die Söhne Jawans sind Elischa, Tarschisch, die Kittäer und die Rodaniter.
5 By these were divided the islands of the Gentiles in their lands, every one according to his tongue and their families in their nations.	5 Von ihnen zweigten sich die Inselvölker in ihren verschiedenen Ländern ab, jedes nach seiner Sprache und seinen Sippenverbänden in ihren Völkerschaften.
6 And the sons of Cham: Chus, and Mesram, and Phuth, and Chanaan.	6 Die Söhne Hams sind Kusch, Ägypten, Put und Kanaan.
7 And the sons of Chus: Saba and Hevila, and Sabatha, and Regma, and Sabatacha. The sons of Regma: Saba and Dadan.	7 Die Söhne von Kusch sind Seba, Hawila, Sabta, Ragma und Sabtecha, und die Söhne Ragmas sind Saba und Dedan.
8 Now Chus begot Nemrod: he began to be mighty on earth.	8 Kusch zeugte Nimrod; dieser wurde der erste Held auf der Erde.
9 And he was a stout hunter before the Lord. Hence came a proverb: Even as Nemrod the stout hunter before the Lord.	9 Er war ein tüchtiger Jäger vor dem Herrn. Deshalb pflegt man zu sagen: Ein tüchtiger Jäger vor dem Herrn wie Nimrod.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Arach, and Achad, and Chalanne in the land of Sennaar.	10 Kerngebiet seines Reiches war Babel, Erech, Akkad und Kalne im Land Schinar.
11 Out of that land came forth Assur, and built Ninive, and the streets of the city, and Chale.	11 Von diesem Land zog er nach Assur aus und erbaute Ninive, Rehobot-Ir, Kelach
12 Resen also between Ninive and Chale: this is the great city.	12 sowie Resen, zwischen Ninive und Kelach, das ist die große Stadt.
13 And Mesraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Laabim, Nepthuim,	13 Ägypten zeugte die Luditer, die Anamiter, die Lehabiter, die Naftuhiter,
14 And Phetrusim, and Chasluim; of whom came forth the Philistines, and the Capthorim.	14 die Patrositer und die Kasluhiter, von denen die Philister abstammen, ferner die Kaftoriter.
15 And Chanaan begot Sidon, his firstborn, the Hethite,	15 Kanaan zeugte Sidon, seinen Erstgeborenen, und Het,
16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite, and the Gergesite,	16 ferner die Jebusiter, die Amoriter, die Girgaschiter,
17 The Hevite and the Aracite: the Sinite,	17 die Hiwiter, die Arkiter, die Siniter,
18 And the Aradian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite: and afterwards the families of the Chanaanites were spread abroad.	18 die Arwaditer, die Zemariter und die Hamatiter. Später spalteten sich die Sippenverbände der Kanaaniter.
19 And the limits of Chanaan were from Sidon as one comes to Gerara even to Gaza, until thou enter Sodom and Gomorrha, and Adama, and Seboim even to Lesa.	19 Das Gebiet der Kanaaniter reichte von Sidon, wenn man über Gerar kommt, bis Gaza, wenn man über Sodom, Gomorra, Adma und Zebojim kommt, bis Lescha.
20 These are the children of Cham in their kindreds, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.	20 Das waren die Söhne Hams nach ihren Sippenverbänden, nach ihren Sprachen in ihren Ländern und Völkerschaften.
21 Of Sem also, the father of all children of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.	21 Auch Sem wurden Kinder geboren. Er ist der Stammvater aller Söhne Ebers, der ältere Bruder Jafets.
22 The sons of Sem: Elam and Assur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.	22 Die Söhne Sems sind Elam, Assur, Arpachschad, Lud und Aram.
23 The sons of Aram: Us and Hull, and Gether: and Mess.	23 Die Söhne Arams sind Uz, Hul, Geter und Masch.
24 But Arphaxad begot Sale, of whom was born Heber.	24 Arpachschad zeugte Schelach, Schelach zeugte Eber.
25 And to Heber were born two sons: the name of the one was Phaleg, because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother's name Jectan.	25 Dem Eber wurden zwei Söhne geboren; der eine hieß Peleg (Teilung), denn zu seiner Zeit wurde das Land geteilt, und sein Bruder hieß Joktan.
26 Which Jectan begot Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, Jare,	26 Joktan zeugte Almodad, Schelef, Hazarmawet, Jerach,
27 And Anduram, and Uzal, and Decla,	27 Hadoram, Usal, Dikla,
28 And Ebal, and Abimael, Saba,	28 Obal, Abimaël, Scheba,
29 And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab.	29 Ofir, Hawila und Jobab. Das alles sind Söhne Joktans.
30 And their dwelling was from Messa as we go on as far as Sephar, a mountain in the east.	30 Ihr Siedlungsgebiet reichte von Mescha, wenn man über Sefar kommt, bis ans Ostgebirge.
31 These are the children of Sem according to their kindreds and tongues, and countries in their nations.	31 Das waren die Söhne Sems nach ihren Sippenverbänden, nach ihren Sprachen in ihren Ländern, nach ihren Völkern.
32 These are the families of Noe, according to their peoples and nations. By these were the nations divided on the earth after the flood.	32 Das waren die Sippenverbände der Söhne Noachs nach ihrer Geschlechterfolge in ihren Völkern. Von ihnen zweigten sich nach der Flut die Völker der Erde ab.
