1 Ye know that after two days the passover takes place, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.	1 ויהי ככלות ישוע לדבר את כל הדברים האלה ויאמר אל תלמידיו
2 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together to the palace of the high priest who was called Caiaphas,	2 אתם ידעתם כי אחרי יומים יהיה הפסח ובן האדם ימסר להצלב
3 and took counsel together in order that they might seize Jesus by subtlety and kill him;	3 ויקהלו הכהנים הגדולים והסופרים וזקני העם אל חצר הכהן הגדול הנקרא קיפא
4 but they said, Not in the feast, that there be not a tumult among the people.	4 ויועצו יחדו לתפש את ישוע בערמה ולהמיתו
5 a woman, having an alabaster flask of very precious ointment, came to him and poured it out upon his head as he lay at table.	5 ויאמרו אך לא בחג פן תהיה מהומה בעם
6 But the disciples seeing it became indignant, saying, To what end {was} this waste?	6 ויהי בהיות ישוע בית היני בבית שמעון המצרע
7 for this might have been sold for much and been given to the poor.	7 ותקרב אליו אשה ובידה פך שמן יקר מאד ותצק על ראשו בהסבו על השלחן
8 But Jesus knowing {it} said to them, Why do ye trouble the woman? for she has wrought a good work toward me.	8 ויראו התלמידים ויתרעמו לאמר על מה האבוד הזה
9 For ye have the poor always with you, but me ye have not always.	9 כי השמן הזה היה ראוי להמכר במחיר רב ולתתו לעניים
10 For in pouring out this ointment on my body, she has done it for my burying.	10 וידע ישוע ויאמר אליהם למה תוגו את האשה הלא מעשה טוב עשתה עמדי
11 Verily I say to you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, that also which this {woman} has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.	11 כי עניים תמיד עמכם ואנכי אינני אתכם תמיד
12 and said, What are ye willing to give me, and *I* will deliver him up to you? And they appointed to him thirty pieces of silver.	12 כי אשר שפכה את השמן הזה על גופי לחנט אותי עשתה זאת
13 And from that time he sought a good opportunity that he might deliver him up.	13 אמן אמר אני לכם באשר תקרא הבשורה הזאת בכל העולם גם את אשר היא עשתה יספר לזכרון לה
14 And he said, Go into the city unto such a one, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is near, I will keep the passover in thy house with my disciples.	14 וילך אחד משנים העשר הנקרא יהודה איש קריות אל ראשי הכהנים
15 And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the passover.	15 ויאמר מה תתנו לי ואמסרנו בידכם וישקלו לו שלשים כסף
16 And when the evening was come he lay down at table with the twelve.	16 ומן העת ההיא בקש תאנה למסר אותו
17 And as they were eating he said, Verily I say to you, that one of you shall deliver me up.	17 ויהי בראשון לחג המצות ויגשו התלמידים אל ישוע לאמר באי זה מקום תחפץ כי נכין לך לאכל את הפסח
18 And being exceedingly grieved they began to say to him, each of them, Is it *I*, Lord?	18 ויאמר לכו העירה אל פלני אלמני ואמרתם אליו כה אמר הרב עתי קרובה היא ובביתך אעשה את הפסח עם תלמידי
19 But he answering said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, *he* it is who shall deliver me up.	19 ויעשו התלמידים כאשר צום ישוע ויכינו את הפסח
20 The Son of man goes indeed, according as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up; it were good for that man if he had not been born.	20 ויהי בערב ויסב עם שנים העשר
21 And Judas, who delivered him up, answering said, Is it *I*, Rabbi? He says to him, *Thou* hast said.	21 ובאכלם ויאמר אמן אמר אני לכם כי אחד מכם ימסרני
22 And having taken {the} cup and given thanks, he gave {it} to them, saying, Drink ye all of it.	22 ויתעצבו מאד ויחלו איש ואיש לאמר לו האנכי הוא אדני
23 For this is my blood, that of the {new} covenant, that shed for many for remission of sins.	23 ויען ויאמר האיש אשר טבל עמי את ידו בקערה הוא ימסרני
24 But I say to you, that I will not at all drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.	24 הן בן האדם הלוך ילך לו ככתוב עליו אבל אוי לאיש ההוא אשר על ידו ימסר בן האדם טוב לאיש ההוא אם לא נולד
25 Depois do canto dos Salmos, dirigiram-se eles para o monte das Oliveiras.	25 ויען יהודה המסר אותו ויאמר רבי האני הוא ויאמר אליו אתה אמרת
26 Disse-lhes então Jesus: Esta noite serei para todos vós uma ocasião de queda; porque está escrito: Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas do rebanho serão dispersadas {Zc 13,7}.	26 ובאכלם ויקח ישוע את הלחם ויברך ויבצע ויתן לתלמידים ויאמר קחו ואכלו זה הוא גופי
27 Mas, depois da minha Ressurreição, eu vos precederei na Galiléia.	27 ויקח את הכוס ויברך ויתן להם לאמר שתו ממנה כלכם
28 Pedro interveio: Mesmo que sejas para todos uma ocasião de queda, para mim jamais o serás.	28 כי זה הוא דמי דם הברית החדשה הנשפך בעד רבים לסליחת חטאים
29 Disse-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo: nesta noite mesma, antes que o galo cante, três vezes me negarás.	29 ואני אמר לכם כי מעתה שתה לא אשתה מתנובת הגפן הזאת עד היום ההוא אשר אשתה אתה עמכם חדשה במלכות אבי
30 Respondeu-lhe Pedro: Mesmo que seja necessário morrer contigo, jamais te negarei! E todos os outros discípulos diziam-lhe o mesmo.	30 ויהי אחרי גמרם את ההלל ויצאו אל הר הזיתים
31 Retirou-se Jesus com eles para um lugar chamado Getsêmani e disse-lhes: Assentai-vos aqui, enquanto eu vou ali orar.	31 אז אמר אליהם ישוע אתם כלכם תכשלו בי בלילה הזה כי כתוב אכה את הרעה ותפוצין הצאן
32 E, tomando consigo Pedro e os dois filhos de Zebedeu, começou a entristecer-se e a angustiar-se.	32 ואחרי קומי אלך לפניכם הגלילה
33 Disse-lhes, então: Minha alma está triste até a morte. Ficai aqui e vigiai comigo.	33 ויען פטרוס ויאמר לו גם כי יכשלו בך כלם אני לעולם לא אכשל
34 Adiantou-se um pouco e, prostrando-se com a face por terra, assim rezou: Meu Pai, se é possível, afasta de mim este cálice! Todavia não se faça o que eu quero, mas sim o que tu queres.	34 ויאמר אליו ישוע אמן אמר אני לך כי בלילה הזה בטרם יקרא התרנגול תכחש בי שלש פעמים
35 Foi ter então com os discípulos e os encontrou dormindo. E disse a Pedro: Então não pudestes vigiar uma hora comigo...	35 ויאמר אליו פטרוס גם כי יהיה עלי למות אתך כחש לא אכחש בך וכן אמרו גם כל התלמידים
36 Vigiai e orai para que não entreis em tentação. O espírito está pronto, mas a carne é fraca.	36 אחרי כן בא אתם ישוע אל חצר הנקרא גת שמני ויאמר אל התלמידים שבו לכם פה עד אשר אלך שמה והתפללתי
37 Afastou-se pela segunda vez e orou, dizendo: Meu Pai, se não é possível que este cálice passe sem que eu o beba, faça-se a tua vontade!	37 ויקח אתו את פטרוס ואת שני בני זבדי ויחל להעצב ולמוג
38 Voltou ainda e os encontrou novamente dormindo, porque seus olhos estavam pesados.	38 ויאמר להם נפשי מרה לי עד מות עמדו פה ושקדו עמי
39 Deixou-os e foi orar pela terceira vez, dizendo as mesmas palavras.	39 וילך מעט האלה ויפל על פניו ויתפלל לאמר אבי אם יוכל להיות תעבר נא מעלי הכוס הזאת אך לא כרצוני כי אם כרצונך
40 Voltou então para os seus discípulos e disse-lhes: Dormi agora e repousai! Chegou a hora: o Filho do Homem vai ser entregue nas mãos dos pecadores...	40 ויבא אל התלמידים וימצאם ישנים ויאמר אל פטרוס הנה לא היה ביכלתכם לשקד עמי שעה אחת
41 Levantai-vos, vamos! Aquele que me trai está perto daqui.	41 שקדו והתפללו פן תבאו לידי נסיון הן הרוח היא חפצה והבשר הוא רפה
42 Jesus ainda falava, quando veio Judas, um dos Doze, e com ele uma multidão de gente armada de espadas e cacetes, enviada pelos príncipes dos sacerdotes e pelos anciãos do povo.	42 ויוסף ללכת לו שנית ויתפלל לאמר אבי אם לא תוכל הכוס הזאת לעבר ממני מבלי שתותי אתה יהי כרצונך
43 O traidor combinara com eles este sinal: Aquele que eu beijar, é ele. Prendei-o!	43 ויבא וימצאם גם בפעם הזאת ישנים כי עיניהם היו כבדות
44 Aproximou-se imediatamente de Jesus e disse: Salve, Mestre. E beijou-o.	44 ויניחם ויוסף ללכת ויתפלל שלישית באמרו עוד הפעם כדבר הזה
45 Disse-lhe Jesus: É, então, para isso que vens aqui? Em seguida, adiantaram-se eles e lançaram mão em Jesus para prendê-lo.	45 ויבא אל התלמידים ויאמר אליהם נומו מעתה ונוחו הנה השעה קרובה ובן האדם נמסר לידי חטאים
46 Mas um dos companheiros de Jesus desembainhou a espada e feriu um servo do sumo sacerdote, decepando-lhe a orelha.	46 קומו ונלכה הנה הלך וקרב המסר אותי
47 Jesus, no entanto, lhe disse: Embainha tua espada, porque todos aqueles que usarem da espada, pela espada morrerão.	47 עודנו מדבר והנה בא יהודה אחד משנים העשר ועמו המון רב ברחבות ובמקלות מאת ראשי הכהנים וזקני העם
48 Crês tu que não posso invocar meu Pai e ele não me enviaria imediatamente mais de doze legiões de anjos?	48 והמסר אתו נתן להם אות לאמר האיש אשר אשקהו זה הוא תפשוהו
49 Mas como se cumpririam então as Escrituras, segundo as quais é preciso que seja assim?	49 ומיד נגש אל ישוע ויאמר שלום לך רבי וינשק לו
50 Depois, voltando-se para a turba, falou: Saístes armados de espadas e porretes para prender-me, como se eu fosse um malfeitor. Entretanto, todos os dias estava eu sentado entre vós ensinando no templo e não me prendestes.	50 ויאמר אליו ישוע רעי על מה באת ויגשו וישלחו את ידיהם בישוע ויתפשו אתו
51 Mas tudo isto aconteceu porque era necessário que se cumprissem os oráculos dos profetas. Então os discípulos o abandonaram e fugiram.	51 והנה אחד מן האנשים אשר עם ישוע שלח ידו וישלף חרבו ויך את עבד הכהן הגדול ויקצץ את אזנו
52 Os que haviam prendido Jesus levaram-no à casa do sumo sacerdote Caifás, onde estavam reunidos os escribas e os anciãos do povo.	52 ויאמר אליו ישוע השב את חרבך אל תערה כי כל אחזי חרב בחרב יאבדו
53 Pedro seguia-o de longe, até o pátio do sumo sacerdote. Entrou e sentou-se junto aos criados para ver como terminaria aquilo.	53 או היחשב לבך כי לא יכלתי לשאל עתה מאת אבי והוא יצוה לי יותר משנים עשר לגיונות של מלאכים
54 Enquanto isso, os príncipes dos sacerdotes e todo o conselho procuravam um falso testemunho contra Jesus, a fim de o levarem à morte.	54 ואיככה אפוא ימלאו הכתובים כי כן היה תהיה
55 Mas não o conseguiram, embora se apresentassem muitas falsas testemunhas.	55 בשעה ההיא אמר ישוע אל המון העם כעל פריץ יצאתם בחרבות ובמקלות לתפשני ויום יום הייתי ישב ומלמד אצלכם במקדש ולא החזקתם בי
56 Por fim, apresentaram-se duas testemunhas, que disseram: Este homem disse: Posso destruir o templo de Deus e reedificá-lo em três dias.	56 וכל זאת היתה למלאת כתבי הנביאים אז עזבוהו התלמידים כלם וינוסו
57 Levantou-se o sumo sacerdote e lhe perguntou: Nada tens a responder ao que essa gente depõe contra ti?	57 והאנשים אשר תפשו את ישוע הוליכהו אל קיפא הכהן הגדול אשר נקהלו שם הסופרים והזקנים
58 Jesus, no entanto, permanecia calado. Disse-lhe o sumo sacerdote: Por Deus vivo, conjuro-te que nos digas se és o Cristo, o Filho de Deus?	58 ופטרוס הלך אחריו מרחוק עד לחצר הכהן הגדול ויבא פנימה וישב לו אצל המשרתים לראות את אחרית הדבר
59 Jesus respondeu: Sim. Além disso, eu vos declaro que vereis doravante o Filho do Homem sentar-se à direita do Todo-poderoso, e voltar sobre as nuvens do céu.	59 והכהנים הגדולים והסופרים וכל הסנהדרין בקשו עדות שקר בישוע להמיתו ולא מצאו
60 A estas palavras, o sumo sacerdote rasgou suas vestes, exclamando: Que necessidade temos ainda de testemunhas? Acabastes de ouvir a blasfêmia!	60 ואף בעמד שם עדי שקר רבים לא מצאו ובאחרונה נגשו שני עדי שקר
61 Qual o vosso parecer? Eles responderam: Merece a morte!	61 ויאמרו זה אמר יש ביכלתי להרס את היכל האלהים ולשוב לבנותו בשלשת ימים
62 Cuspiram-lhe então na face, bateram-lhe com os punhos e deram-lhe tapas,	62 ויקם הכהן הגדול ויאמר אליו האינך משיב דבר על אשר ענו בך אלה
63 dizendo: Adivinha, ó Cristo: quem te bateu?	63 וישוע החריש ויען הכהן הגדול ויאמר לו משביעך אני באלהים חיים שתאמר לנו אם אתה הוא המשיח בן האלהים
64 Enquanto isso, Pedro estava sentado no pátio. Aproximou-se dele uma das servas, dizendo: Também tu estavas com Jesus, o Galileu.	64 ויאמר אליו ישוע אתה אמרת אבל אני אמר לכם כי מעתה תראו את בן האדם ישב לימין הגבורה ובא עם ענני השמים
65 Mas ele negou publicamente, nestes termos: Não sei o que dizes.	65 ויקרע הכהן הגדול את בגדיו ויאמר הוא גדף ומה לנו עוד לבקש עדים הנה עתה שמעתם את גדופו
66 Dirigia-se ele para a porta, a fim de sair, quando outra criada o viu e disse aos que lá estavam: Este homem também estava com Jesus de Nazaré.	66 מה דעתכם ויענו ויאמרו איש מות הוא
67 Pedro, pela segunda vez, negou com juramento: Eu nem conheço tal homem.	67 וירקו בפניו ויכהו באגרוף ואחרים הכהו על הלחי
68 Pouco depois, os que ali estavam aproximaram-se de Pedro e disseram: Sim, tu és daqueles; teu modo de falar te dá a conhecer.	68 ויאמרו הנבא לנו המשיח מי הוא המכה אותך
69 Pedro então começou a fazer imprecações, jurando que nem sequer conhecia tal homem. E, neste momento, cantou o galo.	69 ופטרוס ישב מחוץ לבית בחצר ותגש אליו שפחה לאמר גם אתה היית עם ישוע הגלילי
70 Pedro recordou-se do que Jesus lhe dissera: Antes que o galo cante, negar-me-ás três vezes. E saindo, chorou amargamente.	70 ויכחש בפני כלם לאמר לא ידעתי מה את אמרת
	71 ויצא אל פתח השער ותרא אותו אחרת ותאמר לאנשים אשר שם גם זה היה עם ישוע הנצרי
	72 ויוסף לכחש וישבע לאמר לא ידעתי את האיש
	73 וכמעט אחרי כן ויגשו העמדים שם ויאמרו אל פטרוס אמת כי גם אתה מהם כי גם לשונך מגלה אותך
	74 ויחל להחרים את נפשו ולהשבע לאמר לא ידעתי את האיש ומיד קרא התרנגול
	75 ויזכר פטרוס את דבר ישוע אשר אמר אליו לאמר בטרם יקרא התרנגול תכחש בי שלש פעמים ויצא החוצה וימרר בבכי
