LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Queste sono le tappe dei figli d'Israele che uscirono dalla terra d'Egitto, secondo le loro schiere, sotto la guida di Mosè e Aronne.	1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.
2 Mosè scrisse i loro punti di partenza, secondo le loro tappe, per ordine del Signore: queste sono le loro tappe, secondo i loro punti di partenza.	2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:
3 Partirono da Ramses nel primo mese, il 15 del mese del primo mese. Il giorno dopo la Pasqua, i figli d'Israele uscirono con mano alzata, sotto gli occhi di tutti gli Egiziani,	3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.
4 mentre gli Egiziani seppellivano quelli che il Signore aveva colpito tra loro, tutti i primogeniti. Anche dei loro dèi il Signore aveva fatto giustizia.	4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.
5 I figli d'Israele partirono da Ramses e si accamparono a Succot.	5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.
6 Partirono da Succot e si accamparono a Etam, che è all'estremità del deserto.	6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.
7 Partirono da Etam e ripiegarono su Pi-Achirot, che è di fronte a Baal-Zefon: e si accamparono di fronte a Migdol.	7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.
8 Partirono da Pi-Achirot, passarono in mezzo al mare verso il deserto e per un cammino di tre giorni andarono nel deserto di Etam, accampandosi a Mara.	8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.
9 Partirono da Mara e arrivarono a Elim: a Elim ci sono dodici sorgenti d'acqua e settanta palme. Si accamparono là.	9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.
10 Partirono da Elim e si accamparono presso il Mar Rosso.	10 They left Elim and encamped by the Sea of Reeds.
11 Partirono dal Mar Rosso e si accamparono nel deserto di Sin.	11 They left the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the desert of Sin.
12 Partirono dal deserto di Sin e si accamparono in Dofka.	12 They left the desert of Sin and encamped at Dophkah.
13 Partirono da Dofka e si accamparono ad Alus.	13 They left Dophkah and encamped at Alush.
14 Partirono da Alus e si accamparono a Refidim: là non c'era acqua da bere per il popolo.	14 They left Alush and encamped at Rephidim; the people found no drinking water there.
15 Partirono da Refidim e si accamparono nel deserto del Sinai.	15 They left Rephidim and encamped in the desert of Sinai.
16 Partirono dal deserto del Sinai e si accamparono a Kibrot-Taava.	16 They left the desert of Sinai and encamped at Kibroth-ha-Taavah.
17 Partirono da Kibrot-Taava e si accamparono a Cazerot.	17 They left Kibroth-ha-Taavah and encamped at Hazeroth.
18 Partirono da Cazerot e si accamparono a Ritma.	18 They left Hazeroth and encamped at Rithmah.
19 Partirono da Ritma e si accamparono a Rimmon-Perez.	19 They left Rithmah and encamped at Rimmon-Perez.
20 Partirono da Rimmon-Perez e si accamparono a Libna.	20 They left Rimmon-Perez and encamped at Libnah.
21 Partirono da Libna e si accamparono a Rissa.	21 They left Libnah and encamped at Rissah.
22 Partirono da Rissa e si accamparono a Keelata.	22 They left Rissah and encamped at Kehelathah.
23 Partirono da Keelata e si accamparono al monte Sefer.	23 They left Kehelathah and encamped at Mount Shepher.
24 Partirono dal monte Sefer e si accamparono a Carada.	24 They left Mount Shepher and encamped at Haradah.
25 Partirono da Carada e si accamparono a Makelot.	25 They left Haradah and encamped at Makheloth.
26 Partirono da Makelot e si accamparono a Tacat.	26 They left Makheloth and encamped at Tahath.
27 Partirono da Tacat e si accamparono a Terach.	27 They left Tahath and encamped at Terah.
28 Partirono da Terach e si accamparono a Mitka.	28 They left Terah and encamped at Mithkah.
29 Partirono da Mitka e si accamparono a Casmona.	29 They left Mithkah and encamped at Hashmonah.
30 Partirono da Casmona e si accamparono a Moserot.	30 They left Hashmonah and encamped at Moseroth.
31 Partirono da Moserot e si accamparono a Bene-Iaakan.	31 They left Moseroth and encamped at Bene-Jaakan.
32 Partirono da Bene-Iaakan e si accamparono a Or-Ghidgad.	32 They left Bene-Jaakan and encamped at Hor-Gidgad.
33 Partirono da Or-Ghidgad e si accamparono a Iotbata.	33 They left Hor-Gidgad and encamped at Jotbathah.
34 Partirono da Iotbata e si accamparono ad Abrona.	34 They left Jotbathah and encamped at Abronah.
35 Partirono da Abrona e si accamparono a Ezion-Gheber.	35 They left Abronah and encamped at Ezion-Geber.
36 Partirono da Ezion-Gheber e si accamparono nel deserto di Zin, che è Kades.	36 They left Ezion-Geber and encamped in the desert of Zin, that is, at Kadesh.
37 Partirono da Kades e si accamparono al monte Or, all'estremità della terra di Edom.	37 They left Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, on the borders of the land of Edom.
38 Il sacerdote Aronne salì sul monte Or per ordine del Signore e vi morì nell'anno quaranta dall'uscita dei figli d'Israele dalla terra d'Egitto, nel mese quinto, nel primo del mese.	38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.
39 Aronne aveva centoventitré anni, quando morì sul monte Or.	39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40 Il cananeo re di Arad, che risiede nel Negheb, nella terra di Canaan, sentì dell'arrivo dei figli d'Israele.	40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.
41 Partirono dal monte Or e si accamparono a Zalmona.	41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.
42 Partirono da Zalmona e si accamparono a Punon.	42 They left Zalmonah and encamped at Punon.
43 Partirono da Punon e si accamparono a Obot.	43 They left Punon and encamped at Oboth.
44 Partirono da Obot e si accamparono a Iie-Abarim, al confine di Moab.	44 They left Oboth and encamped in Moabite territory at Iye-Abarim.
45 Partirono da Iie-Abarim e si accamparono a Dibon-Gad.	45 They left Iyim and encamped at Dibon-Gad.
46 Partirono da Dibon-Gad e si accamparono in Almon-Diblataim.	46 They left Dibon-Gad and encamped at Almon-Diblathaim.
47 Partirono da Almon-Diblataim e si accamparono ai monti Abarim, di fronte al Nebo.	47 They left Almon-Diblathaim and encamped in the Abarim mountains facing Nebo.
48 Partirono dai monti Abarim e si accamparono nella steppa di Moab, presso il Giordano di Gerico.	48 They left the Abarim mountains and encamped on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan oppositeJericho.
49 Si accamparono presso il Giordano, da Bet-Iesimot ad Abel-Sittim, nella steppa di Moab.	49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.
50 Il Signore disse a Mosè nella steppa di Moab, presso il Giordano di Gerico:	50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:
51 "Parla ai figli d'Israele e di' loro: Poiché state per passare il Giordano verso la terra di Canaan,	51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,
52 dovrete scacciare tutti gli abitanti della terra davanti a voi, distruggerete tutte le loro raffigurazioni, distruggerete tutte le loro statue fuse, annienterete tutti i loro luoghi alti.	52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.
53 Entrerete in possesso della terra e dei suoi abitanti, perché a voi l'ho data in eredità.	53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.
54 Vi spartirete la terra a sorte, secondo le vostre famiglie: a chi è grande moltiplicherete la propria eredità, a chi è piccolo diminuirete la propria eredità; e avrà quello su cui uscirà per lui la sorte. Vi spartirete secondo le tribù dei vostri padri.	54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.
55 Se non scaccerete gli abitanti del paese davanti a voi, quelli che resteranno di loro saranno spine per i vostri occhi e rovi per i vostri fianchi e vi premeranno nella terra in cui abiterete.	55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,
56 Quello che mi ero prefisso di fare a loro, lo farò a voi".	56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '
