1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who are not walking according to the flesh.	1 Nessuna condanna dunque pesa più ora su quelli che sono in Cristo Gesù.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death.	2 La legge dello spirito che dà la vita in Cristo Gesù ti ha liberato dalla legge del peccato e della carne.
3 For though this was impossible under the law, because it was weakened by the flesh, God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and because of sin, in order to condemn sin in the flesh,	3 Quello che era impossibile alla legge, ridotta all’impotenza dalla carne, lo fece Dio che, mandando il proprio Figlio in una carne simile a quella del peccato pr vincere il peccato, condannò il peccato nella carne di Cristo,
4 so that the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us. For we are not walking according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.	4 affinché tutto ciò che prescrive la legge si compisse in noi la cui condotta non è ormai più conforme alla carne ma allo spirito.
5 For those who are in agreement with the flesh are mindful of the things of the flesh. But those who are in agreement with the spirit are mindful of the things of the spirit.	5 Infatti quelli. che vivono secondo la carne hanno le aspirazioni proprie della carne; mentre quelli che vivono secondo lo spirito hanno le aspirazioni dello spirito.
6 For the prudence of the flesh is death. But the prudence of the spirit is life and peace.	6 Certo le aspirazioni della carne dicono morte; le aspirazioni dello spirito, invece, vita e pace;
7 And the wisdom of the flesh is inimical to God. For it is not subject to the law of God, nor can it be.	7 le aspirazioni della carne sono nemiche di Dio: non si piegano alla legge di Dio, anzi neppure lo possono;
8 So those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.	8 e coloro che sono carnali non possono piacere a Dio.
9 And you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if it is true that the Spirit of God lives within you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.	9 Ma voi non siete esseri carnali ma spirituali, se, convè vero, lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi. All’opposto, se uno non ha lo Spirito di Cristo, costui non gli appartiene;
10 But if Christ is within you, then the body is indeed dead, concerning sin, but the spirit truly lives, because of justification.	10 ma se Cristo è in voi, il vostro corpo è bensì morto a causa del peccato, lo spirito però, a causa della giustizia, è vivo.
11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead lives within you, then he who raised up Jesus Christ from the dead shall also enliven your mortal bodies, by means of his Spirit living within you.	11 È se lo Spirito di colui che risuscitò Gesù da morte abita in voi, colui che risuscitò Cristo Gesù da morte vivificherà anche i vostri corpi mortali per mezzo del suo Spirito, che abita in voi.
12 Therefore, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, so as to live according to the flesh.	12 Pertanto, o fratelli, abbiamo sì delle obbligazioni, ma non verso la carne così da dover vivere in maniera carnale;
13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if, by the Spirit, you mortify the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.	13 vivendo secondo la carne morreste certamente; uccidendo invece con lo spirito le opere del corpo avrete la vita.
14 For all those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.	14 Sono infatti quanti vengono mossi dallo Spirito di Dio i veri figli di Dio.
15 And you have not received, again, a spirit of servitude in fear, but you have received the Spirit of the adoption of sons, in whom we cry out: “Abba, Father!”	15 Giacchè non riceveste uno spirito da schiavi per ricadere nel timore; riceveste quello Spirito da figli adottivi che vi fa. esclamare: Abba, Padre!
16 For the Spirit himself renders testimony to our spirit that we are the sons of God.	16 Lo Spirito stesso attesta al nostro spirito che siamo figli di Dio.
17 But if we are sons, then we are also heirs: certainly heirs of God, but also co-heirs with Christ, yet in such a way that, if we suffer with him, we shall also be glorified with him.	17 E, se figli, siamo pure eredi: eredi di Dio e coeredi di Cristo, dacchè soffriamo insieme con lui per essere altresì con lui glorificati.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with that future glory which shall be revealed in us.	18 Ritengo, infatti, che le sofferenze del tempo presente non reggono il confronto con la gloria che dovrà manifestarsi in noi.
19 For the anticipation of the creature anticipates the revelation of the sons of God.	19 La stessa intera creazione anela, in ansiosa attesa, alla manifestazione gloriosa dei figli di Dio;
20 For the creature was made subject to emptiness, not willingly, but for the sake of the One who made it subject, unto hope.	20 quella creazione che è stata sottomessa alla vanità non perché l’abbia voluto lei, ma per volontà di colui che l’ha sottomessa; sostenuta tuttavia dalla speranza
21 For the creature itself shall also be delivered from the servitude of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the sons of God.	21 che essa pure, la creazione, verrà affearicata dalla schiavitù della corruzione per partecipare alla libertà della gloria dei figli di Dio.
22 For we know that every creature groans inwardly, as if giving birth, even until now;	22 Sappiamo, infatti, che tutta la creazione fino al momento presente geme e soffre i dolori del parto.
23 and not only these, but also ourselves, since we hold the first-fruits of the Spirit. For we also groan within ourselves, anticipating our adoption as the sons of God, and the redemption of our body.	23 E non essa soltanto; anche noi, che già possediamo le primizie dello Spirito, noi pure gemiamo dentro di noi, anelando alla redenzione del nostro corpo.
24 For we have been saved by hope. But a hope which is seen is not hope. For when a man sees something, why would he hope?	24 Poiché siamo salvi, ma in speranza; ed una cosa sperata, se la si vede già, non è più una speranza: infatti quello che si vede come lo si può ancora sperare?
25 But since we hope for what we do not see, we wait with patience.	25 Se invece oggetto di speranza è quello che non vediamo, ad esso aspiriamo con costanza.
26 And similarly, the Spirit also helps our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself asks on our behalf with ineffable sighing.	26 E similmente anche lo Spirito viene in soccorso alla nostra debolezza, poiché noi non sappiamo né che cosa si ha da chiedere nella preghiera, né come convenga chiederlo; ma lo Spirito in persona intercede per noi con gemiti inesprimibili;
27 And he who examines hearts knows what the Spirit seeks, because he asks on behalf of the saints in accordance with God.	27 e colui che scruta i cuori sa qual è il desiderio dello Spirito: sa che egli intercede a favore dei santi secondo gli intendimenti di Dio.
28 And we know that, for those who love God, all things work together unto good, for those who, in accordance with his purpose, are called to be saints.	28 Sappiamo ancora che Dio fa cooperare tutto al bene di coloro che lo amano, di coloro che sono stati eletti secondo il suo eterno disegno.
29 For those whom he foreknew, he also predestinated, in conformity with the image of his Son, so that he might be the Firstborn among many brothers.	29 Poiché quelli che egli conobbe in antecedenza, li ha predestinati a riprodurre l’immagine del Figlio suo onde egli sia primogenito’ tra un gran numero di fratelli;
30 And those whom he predestinated, he also called. And those whom he called, he also justified. And those whom he justified, he also glorified.	30 e quelli che ha predestinato, li ha pure chiamati; e quelli che ha chiamato, li ha anche giustificati; e quelli che ha giustificato, li ha altresì glorificati.
31 So, what should we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?	31 Che cosa dunque concludere da ciò? Se Dio è per noi chi sarà contro di noi?
32 He who did not spare even his own Son, but handed him over for the sake of us all, how could he not also, with him, have given us all things?	32 Colui che non risparmiò nemmeno il suo proprio Figlio, ma lo sacrificò per tutti noi, come potrà non accordarci con lui tutto il resto?
33 Who will make an accusation against the elect of God? God is the One who justifies;	33 Chi muoverà accusa contro gli eletti di Dio? Dio, che giustifica?
34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus who has died, and who has indeed also risen again, is at the right hand of God, and even now he intercedes for us.	34 Chi li condannerà? Cristo Gesù, che è morto, o meglio; è risuscitato? il quale è altresì alla destra di Dio e per di più intercede a nostro favore?
35 Then who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation? Or anguish? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or peril? Or persecution? Or the sword?	35 Chi potrà strapparci dall’amore del Cristo? Suale tribolazione, angustia, persecuzione, fame, nudità, pericolo, spada?
36 For it is as it has been written: “For your sake, we are being put to death all day long. We are being treated like sheep for the slaughter.”	36 Se pur sta scritto: ogni giorno, per te, siamo messi a morte; siamo trattati come pecore da macello,
37 But in all these things we overcome, because of him who has loved us.	37 di tutte queste prove trionfiamo appieno, grazie a colui che ci ha amato.
38 For I am certain that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor Principalities, nor Powers, nor the present things, nor the future things, nor strength,	38 Certamente né la morte né la vita, né gli angeli né i principati, né il presente è il futuro, né le potenze,
39 nor the heights, nor the depths, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.	39 né cose alte o profonde, né alcun’altra creatura ci potranno separare dall’amore di Dio che ci giunge nel Cristo Gesù, nostro Signore.
