CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINSAGRADA BIBLIA
And when the Sabbath had passed, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought aromatic spices, so that when they arrived they could anoint Jesus.1 Passado o sábado, Maria Madalena, Maria, mãe de Tiago, e Salomé compraram aromas para ungir Jesus.
And very early in the morning, on the first of the Sabbaths, they went to the tomb, the sun having now risen.2 E no primeiro dia da semana, foram muito cedo ao sepulcro, mal o sol havia despontado.
And they said to one another, “Who will roll back the stone for us, away from the entrance of the tomb?”3 E diziam entre si: Quem nos há de remover a pedra da entrada do sepulcro?
And looking, they saw that the stone was rolled back. For certainly it was very large.4 Levantando os olhos, elas viram removida a pedra, que era muito grande.
And upon entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, covered with a white robe, and they were astonished.5 Entrando no sepulcro, viram, sentado do lado direito, um jovem, vestido de roupas brancas, e assustaram-se.
And he said to them, “Do not become frightened. You are seeking Jesus of Nazareth, the Crucified One. He has risen. He is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him.6 Ele lhes falou: Não tenhais medo. Buscais Jesus de Nazaré, que foi crucificado. Ele ressuscitou, já não está aqui. Eis o lugar onde o depositaram.
But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you into Galilee. There you shall see him, just as he told you.”7 Mas ide, dizei a seus discípulos e a Pedro que ele vos precede na Galiléia. Lá o vereis como vos disse.
But they, going out, fled from the tomb. For trembling and fear had overwhelmed them. And they said nothing to anyone. For they were afraid.8 Elas saíram do sepulcro e fugiram trêmulas e amedrontadas. E a ninguém disseram coisa alguma por causa do medo.
But he, rising early on the first Sabbath, appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.9 Tendo Jesus ressuscitado de manhã, no primeiro dia da semana apareceu primeiramente a Maria de Magdala, de quem tinha expulsado sete demônios.
She went and announced it to those who had been with him, while they were mourning and weeping.10 Foi ela noticiá-lo aos que estiveram com ele, os quais estavam aflitos e chorosos.
And they, upon hearing that he was alive and that he had been seen by her, did not believe it.11 Quando souberam que Jesus vivia e que ela o tinha visto, não quiseram acreditar.
But after these events, he was shown in another likeness to two of them walking, as they were going out to the countryside.12 Mais tarde, ele apareceu sob outra forma a dois entre eles que iam para o campo.
And they, returning, reported it to the others; neither did they believe them.13 Eles foram anunciá-lo aos demais. Mas estes tampouco acreditaram.
Finally, he appeared to the eleven, as they sat at table. And he rebuked them for their incredulity and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen that he had risen again.14 Por fim apareceu aos Onze, quando estavam sentados à mesa, e censurou-lhes a incredulidade e dureza de coração, por não acreditarem nos que o tinham visto ressuscitado.
And he said to them: “Go forth to the whole world and preach the Gospel to every creature.15 E disse-lhes: Ide por todo o mundo e pregai o Evangelho a toda criatura.
Whoever will have believed and been baptized will be saved. Yet truly, whoever will not have believed will be condemned.16 Quem crer e for batizado será salvo, mas quem não crer será condenado.
Now these signs will accompany those who believe. In my name, they shall cast out demons. They will speak in new languages.17 Estes milagres acompanharão os que crerem: expulsarão os demônios em meu nome, falarão novas línguas,
They will take up serpents, and, if they drink anything deadly, it will not harm them. They shall lay their hands upon the sick, and they will be well.”18 manusearão serpentes e, se beberem algum veneno mortal, não lhes fará mal; imporão as mãos aos enfermos e eles ficarão curados.
And indeed, the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and he sits at the right hand of God.19 Depois que o Senhor Jesus lhes falou, foi levado ao céu e está sentado à direita de Deus.
Then they, setting out, preached everywhere, with the Lord cooperating and confirming the word by the accompanying signs.20 Os discípulos partiram e pregaram por toda parte. O Senhor cooperava com eles e confirmava a sua palavra com os milagres que a acompanhavam.
