1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:	1 IL Signore parlò ancora a Mosè, nel deserto di Sinai, nel Tabernacolo della convenenza, nel primo giorno del secondo mese, nell’anno secondo da che i figliuoli d’Israele furono usciti fuor del paese di Egitto, dicendo:

3 from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.	3 di età da vent’anni in su, tutti coloro che possono andare alla guerra in Israele; annoverateli, tu, ed Aaronne, per le loro schiere.
4 And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,	4 E siavi con voi un uomo di ciascuna tribù, che sia capo della sua casa paterna.

12 of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;	12 Di Dan, Ahiezer, figliuolo di Ammisaddai;
13 of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;	13 Di Aser, Paghiel, figliuolo di Ocran;
14 of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel;	14 Di Gad, Eliasaf, figliuolo di Deuel;
15 of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”	15 Di Neftali, Ahira, figliuolo di Enan.
16 These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.	16 Costoro erano quelli che si chiamavano alla raunanza, principali delle tribù loro paterne, e capi delle migliaia d’Israele
17 Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,	17 Mosè adunque ed Aaronne presero seco questi uomini, ch’erano stati nominati per li nomi loro.
18 and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,	18 E, a’ calendi del secondo mese, adunarono tutta la raunanza; e le generazioni de’ figliuoli d’Israele furono descritte per le lor nazioni, e per le famiglie loro paterne, contandoli per nome dall’età di vent’anni in su, a testa a testa.
19 just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.	19 Come il Signore avea comandato a Mosè, egli li annoverò nel deserto di Sinai.
20 Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,	20 E delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Ruben, primogenito d’Israele, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome, a testa a testa, d’infra tutti i maschi, dall’età di vent’anni in su, tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra;
21 there were forty-six thousand five hundred.	21 gli annoverati della tribù di Ruben furono quarantaseimila cinquecento.
22 Of the sons of Simeon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names and heads of each one, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,	22 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Simeone, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome, a testa a testa, d’infra tutti i maschi, dall’età di vent’anni in su, tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra;
23 there were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.	23 gli annoverati della tribù di Simeone furono cinquantanovemila trecento.
24 Of the sons of Gad, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,	24 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Gad, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
25 there were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.	25 gli annoverati della tribù di Gad furono quarantacinquemila seicencinquanta.
26 Of the sons of Judah, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	26 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Giuda, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
27 there were counted seventy-four thousand six hundred.	27 gli annoverati della tribù di Giuda furono settantaquattromila seicento.
28 Of the sons of Issachar, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,	28 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli d’Issacar, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
29 there were counted fifty-four thousand four hundred.	29 gli annoverati della tribù d’Issacar furono cinquantaquattromila quattrocento.
30 Of the sons of Zebulon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	30 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Zabulon, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
31 there were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.	31 gli annoverati della tribù di Zabulon furono cinquantasettemila quattrocento.
32 From the sons of Joseph, of the sons of Ephraim, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	32 De’ figliuoli di Giuseppe; delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Efraim, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
33 there were forty thousand five hundred.	33 gli annoverati della tribù di Efraim furono quarantamila cinquecento.
34 Furthermore, of the sons of Manasseh, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	34 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Manasse, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
35 there were thirty-two thousand two hundred.	35 gli annoverati della tribù di Manasse furono trentaduemila dugento.
36 Of the sons of Benjamin, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	36 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Beniaminio, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;

38 Of the sons of Dan, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	38 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Dan, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
39 there were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.	39 gli annoverati della tribù di Dan furono sessantaduemila settecento.
40 Of the sons of Asher, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	40 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Aser, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne; contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
41 there were forty thousand and one thousand five hundred.	41 gli annoverati della tribù di Aser furono quarantunmila cinquecento.
42 Of the sons of Naphtali, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	42 Delle generazioni de’ figliuoli di Neftali, per le lor nazioni, e famiglie paterne, contati per nome tutti quelli che potevano andare alla guerra, dall’età di vent’anni in su;
43 there were fifty-three thousand four hundred.	43 gli annoverati della tribù di Neftali furono cinquantatremila quattrocento
44 These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.	44 Questi furono gli annoverati, i quali Mosè ed Aaronne annoverarono, insieme co’ principali d’Israele, ch’erano dodici uomini, uno per famiglia paterna.
45 And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were	45 Così, tutti gli annoverati d’infra i figliuoli d’Israele, per le lor famiglie paterne, dall’età di vent’anni in su, che potevano andare alla guerra,
46 six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.	46 furono seicentotremila cinquecencinquanta
47 But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.	47 Ma i Leviti non furono annoverati fra loro secondo la lor tribù paterna;
48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	48 perciocchè il Signore avea detto a Mosè:
49 “Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.	49 Sol non annoverar la tribù di Levi, e non levarne la somma per mezzo i figliuoli d’Israele.
50 But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.	50 Ma ordina i Leviti sopra il Tabernacolo della Testimonianza, e sopra tutti i suoi arredi; e sopra tutte le cose ad esso appartenenti; e portino essi il Tabernacolo e tutti i suoi arredi; e facciano i servigi di esso, e accampinvisi attorno.
51 When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.	51 E quando il Tabernacolo si dipartirà, mettanlo giù i Leviti; quando altresì si accamperà, rizzinlo i Leviti; e se alcuno straniere vi si appressa, sia fatto morire.
52 Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.	52 Or accampinsi i figliuoli d’Israele, ciascuno nel suo quartiere, e ciascuno presso alla sua bandiera, per le loro schiere.
53 Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”	53 Ma accampinsi i Leviti intorno al Tabernacolo della Testimonianza; acciocchè non vi sia ira contro alla raunanza de’ figliuoli d’Israele; e facciano i Leviti la funzione del Tabernacolo della Testimonianza.
54 Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.	54 E i figliuoli d’Israele fecero interamente come il Signore avea comandato
