1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 La parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:
2 'Son of man, prophesy and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Howl: Disaster day!	2 « Figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e di': Così parla il Signore Dio: Urlate: « Guai, guai a quel giorno:
3 For the day is near, the day of Yahweh is near; it wil be a day dark with cloud, a time of doom for thenations.	3 perchè il giorno è vicino, è vicino il giorno del Signore, il giorno della caligine: sarà il tempo delle nazioni.

6 "Yahweh says this: "The supports of Egypt wil fall; the pride of her strength wil crumble; they will fal by the sword from Migdol to Syene -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	6 Così parla il Signore Dio: Cadranno i sostegni dell'Egitto, e sarà abbattuta la superbia del suo impero: dalla torre di Siene vi cadranno sotto la spada — dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti —
7 "They will be the most desolate of desolate countries, and its cities the most ruined of cities.	7 e saran dispersi in mezzo a terre desolate, e le sue città saranno in mezzo a città rovinate,

10 The Lord Yahweh says this: I shal destroy the huge population of Egypt at the hand ofNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.	10 Così parla il Signore Dio: Io annienterò la moltitudine dell'Egitto per mezzo di Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia:
11 He and his people, the most barbarous of nations, wil be brought to ravage the country. They wildraw the sword against Egypt and fil the country with corpses.	11 egli e il suo popolo, fortissimi tra le nazioni, saran condotti a distruggere il paese, e sguaineranno le loro spade contro l'Egitto e riempiranno la terra d'uccisi.
12 I shal dry up the courses of the Nile and sel the country to the wicked. I shal lay the whole countrywaste and everything in it, at the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken.	12 E renderò asciutti i letti dei fiumi, e abbandonerò la terra nelle mani dei pessimi, e sterminerò il paese, e tutto quello che contiene, per mano di stranieri: — io, il Signore, ho parlato.
13 "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall destroy the foul idols and take the false gods away from Noph.Egypt wil be left without a ruler. I shall spread fear through Egypt.	13 Così parla il Signore Dio: Io abbatterò i simulacri, farò sparire gli idoli da Menfi, e non vi sarà più un principe nativo d'Egitto e sulla terra d'Egitto manderò il terrore.
14 I shal lay Pathros waste, set Zoan on fire, inflict my punishments on No.	14 E rovinerò la terra di Fatures, e darò alle fiamme Tafnis, e farò giustizia in Alessandria,
15 I shal vent my fury on Sin, the bastion of Egypt; I shall wipe out the throngs of No.	15 ed effonderò il mio sdegno sopra Pelusio, la fortezza d'Egitto, e sterminerò la moltitudine d'Alessandria,
16 I shal set fire to Egypt; Sin will be seized with convulsions; a breach wil be opened at No and thewaters flood out.	16 e darò fuoco all'Egitto: Pelusio sarà in dolori come una partoriente, Alessandria sarà distrutta, e Menti sarà in quotidiani affanni.

18 At Tahpanhes day will turn to darkness when I shatter the sceptres of Egypt there, when the pride ofher strength ceases. A cloud will cover Egypt itself, and its daughters will go into captivity.	18 A Tafnis il giorno si oscurerà, quando ivi io spezzerò gli scettri d'Egitto, e finirà la superbia della sua potenza, essa sarà coperta dalla caligine, e le sue figlie saran menate schiave.
19 Such wil be the punishments I inflict on Egypt. And they wil know that I am Yahweh." '	19 Ed io farò giustizia contro l'Egitto, e sapranno che io sono il Signore ».
20 In the eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to meas fol ows,	20 Nell'anno undecimo, il primo mese, ai sette del mese, la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:
21 'Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; you can see that no one has dressedhis wound by applying remedies to it, by bandaging it and by dressing it, to make it strong enough to wield thesword.	21 « Figlio dell'uomo, il braccio di Faraone, re d'Egitto, io l'ho rotto, ed ecco non è stato fasciato perchè ritorni sano, non è stato fasciato con pezze, nè legato con bende, in modo che, ripreso vigore, possa maneggiare la spada.
22 This being so, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Look, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt; I shal breakhis arms, the sound one and the broken one, and make the sword drop from his hand.	22 Per questo, così parla il Signore Dio: Eccomi a Faraone, re d'Egitto, e farò in pezzi il suo braccio forte, ma rotto, e gli farò cadere di mano la spada.
23 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries.	23 E disperderò l'Egitto fra le nazioni e lo disseminerò ai venti per le terre,
24 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand. I shal breakPharaoh's arms and, confronted with his enemy, he wil groan like a dying man.	24 renderò forti le braccia del re di Babilonia, e metterò la mia spada nella sua mano, e spezzerò le braccia di Faraone, e davanti a lui gemeranno con gemiti di uccisi.
25 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh wil fall. And they wilknow that I am Yahweh, when I put my sword into the hands of the king of Babylon and he wields it againstEgypt.	25 E darò vigore alle braccia del re di Babilonia, le braccia di Faraone cadranno; e sapranno che io sono il Signore, quando avrò posto la mia spada in mano al re di Babilonia, che la stenderà sopra la terra d'Egitto,
26 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries; and they wil know that Iam Yahweh." '	26 e disperderò l'Egitto fra le nazioni, e li getterò al vento per le terre; e sapranno che io sono il Signore ».
