1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 'Son of man, prophesy and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Howl: Disaster day!	2 “Fils d’homme, prophétise. Tu diras cette parole de Yahvé: Ah, quel jour!
3 For the day is near, the day of Yahweh is near; it wil be a day dark with cloud, a time of doom for thenations.	3 Ce jour est proche, c’est l’heure de Yahvé, c’est le jugement des nations.
4 "The sword wil come on Egypt, and anguish on the country of Cush when the slaughtered fal inEgypt, when her riches are carried away and her foundations are destroyed.	4 L’épée est venue en Égypte, Kouch en a tremblé; les victimes tombent en Égypte et ses fondations sont disloquées.
5 Cush, Put and Lud, all Arabia, Cub and the children of the country of the covenant will fal by thesword with them.	5 Kouch, Pout et Loud, l’Arabie, Koub et les coalisés tombent ensemble sous l’épée.
6 "Yahweh says this: "The supports of Egypt wil fall; the pride of her strength wil crumble; they will fal by the sword from Migdol to Syene -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	6 Les alliés de l’Égypte succombent, et de Migdol à Syène son orgueilleuse puissance s’effondre: ils tomberont sous l’épée, parole du Seigneur Yahvé.
7 "They will be the most desolate of desolate countries, and its cities the most ruined of cities.	7 Ils seront le plus ruiné des pays, leurs villes seront les plus saccagées des villes.
8 And they wil know that I am Yahweh when I set fire to Egypt and al its supports are shattered.	8 On saura que je suis Yahvé lorsque je porterai le feu en Égypte et que tous ses alliés seront brisés.
9 "That day, I shal send messengers by ship to terrify the carefree Cushites, and anguish wil overtakethem on the day of Egypt -- it is coming now!	9 Des messagers iront jusqu’à Kouch, là-bas tous trembleront à la nouvelle de sa chute: ce jour vient.
10 The Lord Yahweh says this: I shal destroy the huge population of Egypt at the hand ofNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.	10 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je réduirai à rien les armées de l’Égypte par la main de Nabukodonozor, roi de Babylone.
11 He and his people, the most barbarous of nations, wil be brought to ravage the country. They wildraw the sword against Egypt and fil the country with corpses.	11 Je l’amènerai, lui et son monde, le tombeur des peuples, pour ravager le pays. Ils frapperont l’Égypte avec l’épée et le pays sera couvert de victimes.
12 I shal dry up the courses of the Nile and sel the country to the wicked. I shal lay the whole countrywaste and everything in it, at the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken.	12 Je mettrai ses canaux à sec, et je livrerai aux étrangers le pays et tout ce qu’il contient - parole de Yahvé.
13 "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall destroy the foul idols and take the false gods away from Noph.Egypt wil be left without a ruler. I shall spread fear through Egypt.	13 Voici ce que dit encore Yahvé: Il n’y aura plus de seigneurs à Nof, plus de princes en Égypte ( ).
14 I shal lay Pathros waste, set Zoan on fire, inflict my punishments on No.	14 Je dévasterai Patros, je brûlerai Soan et je châtierai No.
15 I shal vent my fury on Sin, the bastion of Egypt; I shall wipe out the throngs of No.	15 Je déchaînerai ma colère contre Sin, la forteresse de l’Égypte et je ferai disparaître la foule de No.
16 I shal set fire to Egypt; Sin will be seized with convulsions; a breach wil be opened at No and thewaters flood out.	16 Je mettrai le feu à l’Égypte, Sin sera pris de tremblements, à No on ouvrira une brèche et les eaux se déverseront.
17 The young men of On and Pi-Beseth wil fal by the sword and the cities themselves go into captivity.	17 Les jeunes d’On et de Pi-Béset tomberont sous l’épée: la ville ira en captivité.
18 At Tahpanhes day will turn to darkness when I shatter the sceptres of Egypt there, when the pride ofher strength ceases. A cloud will cover Egypt itself, and its daughters will go into captivity.	18 À Tahpanhès le jour se changera en ténèbres lorsque je briserai le sceptre de l’Égypte et mettrai fin à sa puissance insolente; elle ne sortira pas du nuage, et ses villes connaîtront la déportation.
19 Such wil be the punishments I inflict on Egypt. And they wil know that I am Yahweh." '	19 Je ferai rendre compte à l’Égypte, et l’on saura que je suis Yahvé.
20 In the eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to meas fol ows,	20 En la onzième année, le 7 du premier mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
21 'Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; you can see that no one has dressedhis wound by applying remedies to it, by bandaging it and by dressing it, to make it strong enough to wield thesword.	21 “Fils d’homme, j’ai brisé le bras de Pharaon roi d’Égypte, et personne n’est venu le soigner, lui appliquer un remède pour qu’il ait la force de reprendre l’épée.
22 This being so, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Look, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt; I shal breakhis arms, the sound one and the broken one, and make the sword drop from his hand.	22 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je vais revenir contre Pharaon roi d’Égypte; je lui briserai le bras et je ferai tomber l’épée de sa main.
23 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries.	23 Je disperserai les Égyptiens au milieu des nations, je les disséminerai parmi les pays.
24 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand. I shal breakPharaoh's arms and, confronted with his enemy, he wil groan like a dying man.	24 Je rendrai forts les bras du roi de Babylone et je placerai mon épée dans sa main; il en frappera l’Égypte et il s’en ira avec les dépouilles.
25 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh wil fall. And they wilknow that I am Yahweh, when I put my sword into the hands of the king of Babylon and he wields it againstEgypt.	25 Je rendrai forts les bras du roi de Babylone, et le Pharaon devra baisser les siens. On saura que je suis Yahvé lorsque je placerai mon épée dans la main du roi de Babylone et qu’il la lèvera contre l’Égypte.
26 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries; and they wil know that Iam Yahweh." '	26 Je disperserai les Égyptiens parmi les nations, je les disséminerai parmi les peuples et l’on saura que je suis Yahvé.
