Psalms 75

1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.	1 In finem, in laudibus. Psalmus Asaph, canticum ad Assyrios.
2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.	2 Notus in Judæa Deus ; in Israël magnum nomen ejus.
3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.	3 Et factus est in pace locus ejus, et habitatio ejus in Sion.
4 I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:	4 Ibi confregit potentias arcuum, scutum, gladium, et bellum.
5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.	5 Illuminans tu mirabiliter a montibus æternis ;
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.	6 turbati sunt omnes insipientes corde. Dormierunt somnum suum, et nihil invenerunt omnes viri divitiarum in manibus suis.
7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.	7 Ab increpatione tua, Deus Jacob, dormitaverunt qui ascenderunt equos.
8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.	8 Tu terribilis es ; et quis resistet tibi ? ex tunc ira tua.
9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.	9 De cælo auditum fecisti judicium : terra tremuit et quievit
10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.	10 cum exsurgeret in judicium Deus, ut salvos faceret omnes mansuetos terræ.
	11 Quoniam cogitatio hominis confitebitur tibi, et reliquiæ cogitationis diem festum agent tibi.
	12 Vovete et reddite Domino Deo vestro, omnes qui in circuitu ejus affertis munera : terribili,
	13 et ei qui aufert spiritum principum : terribili apud reges terræ.
