1 And rising up from thence, he cometh into the coasts of Judea beyond the Jordan: and the multitudes flock to him again. And as he was accustomed, he taught them again.	1 Y desde allí se marchó a Judea y a Transjordania; otra vez se le fue reuniendo gente por el camino y según su costumbre les enseñaba.
2 And the Pharisees coming to him asked him: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.	2 Acercándose unos fariseos, le preguntaban para ponerlo a prueba: «¿Le es lícito al hombre repudiar a su mujer?».
3 But he answering, saith to them: What did Moses command you?	3 Él les replicó: «¿Qué os ha mandado Moisés?».
4 Who said: Moses permitted to write a bill of divorce, and to put her away.	4 Contestaron: «Moisés permitió escribir el acta de divorcio y repudiarla».
5 To whom Jesus answering, said: Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you that precept.	5 Jesús les dijo: «Por la dureza de vuestro corazón dejó escrito Moisés este precepto.
6 But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.	6 Pero al principio de la creación Dios los creó hombre y mujer.
7 For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife.	7 Por eso dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, se unirá a su mujer
8 And they two shall be in one flesh. Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh.	8 y serán los dos una sola carne. De modo que ya no son dos, sino una sola carne.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.	9 Pues lo que Dios ha unido, que no lo separe el hombre».
10 And in the house again his disciples asked him concerning the same thing.	10 En casa, los discípulos volvieron a preguntarle sobre lo mismo.
11 And he saith to them: Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another, committeth adultery against her.	11 Él les dijo: «Si uno repudia a su mujer y se casa con otra, comete adulterio contra la primera.
12 And if the wife shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.	12 Y si ella repudia a su marido y se casa con otro, comete adulterio».
13 And they brought to him young children, that he might touch them. And the disciples rebuked them that brought them.	13 Acercaban a Jesús niños para que los tocara, pero los discípulos los regañaban.
14 Whom when Jesus saw, he was much displeased, and saith to them: Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.	14 Al verlo, Jesús se enfadó y les dijo: «Dejad que los niños se acerquen a mí: no se lo impidáis, pues de los que son como ellos es el reino de Dios.
15 Amen I say to you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall not enter into it.	15 En verdad os digo que quien no reciba el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él».
16 And embracing them, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them.	16 Y tomándolos en brazos los bendecía imponiéndoles las manos.
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, a certain man running up and kneeling before him, asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may receive life everlasting?	17 Cuando salía Jesús al camino, se le acercó uno corriendo, se arrodilló ante él y le preguntó: «Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna?».
18 And Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? None is good but one, that is God.	18 Jesús le contestó: «¿Por qué me llamas bueno? No hay nadie bueno más que Dios.
19 Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, bear not false witness, do no fraud, honour thy father and mother.	19 Ya sabes los mandamientos: no matarás, no cometerás adulterio, no robarás, no darás falso testimonio, no estafarás, honra a tu padre y a tu madre».
20 But he answering, said to him: Master, all these things I have observed from my youth.	20 Él replicó: «Maestro, todo eso lo he cumplido desde mi juventud».
21 And Jesus looking on him, loved him, and said to him: One thing is wanting unto thee: go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.	21 Jesús se quedó mirándolo, lo amó y le dijo: «Una cosa te falta: anda, vende lo que tienes, dáselo a los pobres, así tendrás un tesoro en el cielo, y luego ven y sígueme».
22 Who being struck sad at that saying, went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.	22 A estas palabras, él frunció el ceño y se marchó triste porque era muy rico.
23 And Jesus looking round about, saith to his disciples: How hardly shall they that have riches, enter into the kingdom of God!	23 Jesús, mirando alrededor, dijo a sus discípulos: «¡Qué difícil les será entrar en el reino de Dios a los que tienen riquezas!».
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus again answering, saith to them: Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches, to enter into the kingdom of God?	24 Los discípulos quedaron sorprendidos de estas palabras. Pero Jesús añadió: «Hijos, ¡qué difícil es entrar en el reino de Dios!
25 It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.	25 Más fácil le es a un camello pasar por el ojo de una aguja, que a un rico entrar en el reino de Dios».
26 Who wondered the more, saying among themselves: Who then can be saved?	26 Ellos se espantaron y comentaban: «Entonces, ¿quién puede salvarse?».
27 And Jesus looking on them, saith: With men it is impossible; but not with God: for all things are possible with God.	27 Jesús se les quedó mirando y les dijo: «Es imposible para los hombres, no para Dios. Dios lo puede todo».
28 And Peter began to say unto him: Behold, we have left all things, and have followed thee.	28 Pedro se puso a decirle: «Ya ves que nosotros lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido».
29 Jesus answering, said: Amen I say to you, there is no man who hath left house or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my sake and for the gospel,	29 Jesús dijo: «En verdad os digo que no hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o hermanos o hermanas, o madre o padre, o hijos o tierras, por mí y por el Evangelio,
30 Who shall not receive an hundred times as much, now in this time; houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions: and in the world to come life everlasting.	30 que no reciba ahora, en este tiempo, cien veces más —casas y hermanos y hermanas y madres e hijos y tierras, con persecuciones— y en la edad futura, vida eterna.
31 But many that are first, shall be last: and the last, first.	31 Muchos primeros serán últimos, y muchos últimos primeros».
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem: and Jesus went before them, and they were astonished; and following were afraid. And taking again the twelve, he began to tell them the things that should befall him.	32 Estaban subiendo por el camino hacia Jerusalén y Jesús iba delante de ellos; ellos estaban sorprendidos y los que lo seguían tenían miedo. Él tomó aparte otra vez a los Doce y empezó a decirles lo que le iba a suceder:
33 Saying: Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests, and to the scribes and ancients, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles.	33 «Mirad, estamos subiendo a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del hombre va a ser entregado a los sumos sacerdotes y a los escribas; lo condenarán a muerte y lo entregarán a los gentiles,
34 And they shall mock him, and spit on him, and scourge him, and kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.	34 se burlarán de él, le escupirán, lo azotarán y lo matarán; y a los tres días resucitará».
35 And James and John the sons of Zebedee, come to him, saying: Master, we desire that whatsoever we shall ask, thou wouldst do it for us:	35 Se le acercaron los hijos de Zebedeo, Santiago y Juan, y le dijeron: «Maestro, queremos que nos hagas lo que te vamos a pedir».
36 But he said to them: What would you that I should do for you?	36 Les preguntó: «¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?».
37 And they said: Grant to us, that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.	37 Contestaron: «Concédenos sentarnos en tu gloria uno a tu derecha y otro a tu izquierda».
38 And Jesus said to them: You know not what you ask. Can you drink of the chalice that I drink of: or be baptized with the baptism wherewith I am baptized?	38 Jesús replicó: «No sabéis lo que pedís, ¿podéis beber el cáliz que yo he de beber, o bautizaros con el bautismo con que yo me voy a bautizar?».
39 But they said to him: We can. And Jesus saith to them: You shall indeed drink of the chalice that I drink of: and with the baptism wherewith I am baptized, you shall be baptized.	39 Contestaron: «Podemos». Jesús les dijo: «El cáliz que yo voy a beber lo beberéis, y seréis bautizados con el bautismo con que yo me voy a bautizar,
40 But to sit on my right hand, or on my left, is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared.	40 pero el sentarse a mi derecha o a mi izquierda no me toca a mí concederlo, sino que es para quienes está reservado».
41 And the ten hearing it, began to be much displeased at James and John.	41 Los otros diez, al oír aquello, se indignaron contra Santiago y Juan.
42 But Jesus calling them, saith to them: You know that they who seem to rule over the Gentiles, lord it over them: and their princes have power over them.	42 Jesús, llamándolos, les dijo: «Sabéis que los que son reconocidos como jefes de los pueblos los tiranizan, y que los grandes los oprimen.
43 But it is not so among you: but whosoever will be greater, shall be your minister.	43 No será así entre vosotros: el que quiera ser grande entre vosotros, que sea vuestro servidor;
44 And whosoever will be first among you, shall be the servant of all.	44 y el que quiera ser primero, sea esclavo de todos.
45 For the Son of man also is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a redemption for many.	45 Porque el Hijo del hombre no ha venido a ser servido, sino a servir y dar su vida en rescate por muchos».
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho, with his disciples, and a very great multitude, Bartimeus the blind man, the son of Timeus, sat by the way side begging.	46 Y llegan a Jericó. Y al salir él con sus discípulos y bastante gente, un mendigo ciego, Bartimeo (el hijo de Timeo), estaba sentado al borde del camino pidiendo limosna.
47 Who when he had heard, that it was Jesus of Nazareth, began to cry out, and to say: Jesus son of David, have mercy on me.	47 Al oír que era Jesús Nazareno, empezó a gritar: «Hijo de David, Jesús, ten compasión de mí».
48 And many rebuked him, that he might hold his peace; but he cried a great deal the more: Son of David, have mercy on me.	48 Muchos lo increpaban para que se callara. Pero él gritaba más: «Hijo de David, ten compasión de mí».
49 And Jesus, standing still, commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying to him: Be of better comfort: arise, he calleth thee.	49 Jesús se detuvo y dijo: «Llamadlo». Llamaron al ciego, diciéndole: «Ánimo, levántate, que te llama».
50 Who casting off his garment leaped up, and came to him.	50 Soltó el manto, dio un salto y se acercó a Jesús.
51 And Jesus answering, said to him: What wilt thou that I should do to thee? And the blind man said to him: Rabboni, that I may see.	51 Jesús le dijo: «¿Qué quieres que te haga?». El ciego le contestó: «Rabbuní, que recobre la vista».
52 And Jesus saith to him: Go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he saw, and followed him in the way.	52 Jesús le dijo: «Anda, tu fe te ha salvado». Y al momento recobró la vista y lo seguía por el camino.
