| 1 Oráculo. Palavra do Senhor contra Israel. Palavra do Senhor, que estendeu o céu, fundou a terra e formou o espírito que o homem tem dentro de si: | 1 An oracle: the word of the LORD concerning Israel. Thus says the LORD, who spreads out the heavens, lays the foundations of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: |
| 2 Eis que farei de Jerusalém um copo inebriante para todos os povos circunvizinhos. Esta palavra é também para Judá, quando se cercar Jerusalém. | 2 See, I will make Jerusalem a bowl to stupefy all peoples round about. (Judah will be besieged, even Jerusalem.) |
| 3 Naquele dia farei de Jerusalém uma pedra pesada para todos os povos; todos aqueles que a levantarem, ficarão magoados; coligar-se-ão contra ela todos os reinos da terra. | 3 On that day I will make Jerusalem a weighty stone for all peoples. All who attempt to lift it shall injure themselves badly, and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered against her. |
| 4 Naquele dia, diz o Senhor, ferirei de pasmo todos os cavalos, e de delírio os que montam neles; abrirei os meus olhos sobre a casa de Judá, mas ferirei de cegueira os cavalos de todos os povos. | 4 On that day, says the LORD, I will strike every horse with fright, and its rider with madness. I will strike blind all the horses of the peoples, but upon the house of Judah I will open my eyes, |
| 5 Então dirão os chefes de Judá no seu coração; A força dos habitantes de Jerusalém reside no Senhor dos exércitos, seu Deus. | 5 and the princes of Judah shall say to themselves, "The inhabitants of Jerusalem have their strength in the LORD of hosts, their God." |
| 6 Naquele dia farei que os chefes de Judá sejam como um tição de fogo, que se mete debaixo da lenha, como um facho aceso entre a palha; devorarão à direita e à esquerda todos os povos circunvizinhos, e Jerusalém permanecerá firme no seu lugar. | 6 On that day I will make the princes of Judah like a brazier of fire in the woodland, and like a burning torch among sheaves, and they shall devour right and left all the surrounding peoples; but Jerusalem shall still abide on its own site. |
| 7 O Senhor salvará as tendas de Judá, para que a altivez da casa de Davide e a dos habitantes de Jerusalém não se elevem em detrimento de Judá. | 7 The LORD shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not be exalted over Judah. |
| 8 Naquele dia o Senhor protegerá os habitantes de Jerusalém: o mais fraco dentre eles será (tão valente) como Davide, e a casa de Davide surgirá aos olhos deles como Deus, como um anjo do Senhor. | 8 On that day, the LORD will shield the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the weakling among them shall be like David on that day, and the house of David godlike, like an angel of the LORD before them. |
| 9 Naquele dia procurarei esmagar todas as nações que vierem contra Jerusalém. | 9 On that day I will seek the destruction of all nations that come against Jerusalem. |
| 10 Derramarei sobre a casa de Davide e sobre os habitantes de Jerusalém um espírito de graça e de preces, e eles porão os olhos em mim. Quanto àquele que traspassaram, chorá-lo-ao com pranto, como se chora um filho único, terão dele um sentimento, como se costuma ter na morte de um primogênito. | 10 I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and petition; and they shall look on him whom they have thrust through, and they shall mourn for him as one mourns for an only son, and they shall grieve over him as one grieves over a first-born. |
| 11 Naquele dia haverá um grande pranto em Jerusalém, como o pranto de Adadremmon, no campo de Magedon. | 11 On that day the mourning in Jerusalem shall be as great as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo. |
| 12 A terra chorará, família por família: a família da casa de Davide à parte, com suas mulheres à parte; | 12 And the land shall mourn, each family apart: the family of the house of David, and their wives; the family of the house of Nathan, and their wives; |
| 13 a família da casa de Natan à parte, com suas mulheres à parte; a família da casa de Levi à parte, com suas mulheres à parte; a família de Semei à parte, com suas mulheres à parte; | 13 the family of the house of Levi, and their wives; the family of Shemei, and their wives; |
| 14 todas as outras famílias (se lamentarão), família por família, com suas mulheres à parte. | 14 and all the rest of the families, each family apart, and the wives apart. |
