| 2 Tu, filho de homem, (atende) assim fala o Senhor Deus à terra de Israel: Eis o fim! Já vem o fim sobre os quatro lados desta terra. | 2 'Son of man, say, "Lord Yahweh says this to the land of Israel: Finished! The end is coming for the fourcorners of the country. |
| 3 Agora chega o fim para ti; desafogarei o meu furor contra ti, julgar-te-ei segundo o teu proceder, farei recair sobre ti todas as tuas abominações. | 3 This is the end for you; I shall unleash my anger on you, and judge you as your conduct deserves andcal you to account for al your loathsome practices. |
| 4 O meu olho não te poupará. não me compadecerei de ti, mas farei recair sobre ti as tuas obras, e as tuas abominações estarão no meio de ti. Então sabereis que eu sou o Senhor. | 4 I shall show you no pity, I shall not spare you; I shall repay you for your conduct and for the loathsomepractices in which you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh. |
| 5 Isto diz o Senhor Deus: Uma desgraça única! Eis que uma calamidade (singularíssima) chega. | 5 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster, a unique disaster, is coming. |
| 6 O fim vem, vem o fim; ele despertou contra ti; ei-lo aí vem! | 6 The end is coming, the end is coming, it is on the move towards you, it is coming now. |
| 7 Ó tu que habitas nesta terra, uma total ruína vem sobre ti! É chegado o tempo, está perto o dia (da mortandade)! É (chegada) a confusão! Não mais alegria sobre os montes. | 7 Now it is your turn, you who dwel in this country. Doom is coming, the day is near; no joy now, onlytumult, on the mountains. |
| 8 E agora, vou já derramar a minha ira sobre ti, satisfazer em ti o meu furor; julgar-te-ei segundo os teus caminhos, farei recair sobre ti todas as tuas abominações. | 8 Now I shal soon vent my fury on you and sate my anger on you: I shal judge you as your conductdeserves and repay you for al your loathsome practices. |
| 9 O meu olho não perdoará, não me compadecerei de ti, mas farei recair sobre ti as tuas obras, e as tuas abominações estarão no meio de ti. Então sabereis que sou eu, o Senhor que castigo. | 9 I shall show neither pity nor mercy, but shall repay you for your conduct and the loathsome practices inwhich you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh and that I strike. |
| 10 Eis o dia, ei-lo aí vem! Chegou o dia da total destruição, floresceu a vara, brotou-a soberba. | 10 "Now is the day, your turn has come, it has come, it appears, the sceptre has blossomed, pride is at itspeak. |
| 11 A iniquidade levantou-se com a vara da impiedade; não escapará nada deles, nem do povo, nem do seu ruído; e não haverá neles descanso. | 11 Violence has risen to become the scourge of wickedness . . . |
| 12 Chegou o tempo, está próximo o dia! O que compra, não alegre; e o que vende, não chore, porque a ira (do Senhor) está sobre todo o seu povo. | 12 Doom is coming, the day is near. Neither should buyer rejoice, nor sel er regret, for the fury rests oneveryone alike. |
| 13 O que vende, não tornará a possuir o que vendeu, ainda que esteja entre os viventes, porque a visão (que tive) relativa a toda a sua multidão não ficará sem efeito, e ninguém encontrará segurança por causa da sua iniquidade. | 13 The sel er wil not be able to go back on his bargain; each persists in his sins; they take no defensivemeasures. |
| 14 Soa a trombeta, tudo está pronto, mas ninguém vai à batalha, porque a minha ira está sobre todo o povo. | 14 The trumpet sounds, all is ready, but no one goes into battle, since my fury rests on all alike. |
| 15 Fora, a espada; dentro, a peste e a fome; o que está no campo, morrerá à espada; os que estão na cidade, serão devorados pela peste e pela fome. | 15 "Outside, the sword; inside, plague and famine. Whoever is living in the countryside wil die by thesword; whoever is living in the city will be devoured by famine and plague. |
| 16 Os que dentre eles fugirem, andarão sobre as montanhas como pombas dos vales, todos gemendo, cada um por causa da sua iniquidade. | 16 And those who escape wil escape to the mountains and there, like doves of the valleys, I shalslaughter them al , each one for his sin. |
| 17 Todas as mãos se enfraquecerão, todos os joelhos se fundirão em água. | 17 Every hand wil grow limp, every knee turn to water. |
| 18 Cingir-se-ão de sacos, o medo os cobrirá; em todo o rosto haverá confusão, e todas as suas cabeças serão rapadas (em. sinal de dor). | 18 They wil put on sackcloth, each one trembling. Every face wil be ashamed and every head beshaved. |
| 19 A sua prata será lançada às ruas, e o seu ouro será reputado como esterco. A sua prata e o seu ouro não os poderão livrar no dia do furor do Senhor. Não saciarão (com, isso) a sua alma, e os seus ventres se não se encherão, porque a sua iniquidade fez disso um motivo de queda. | 19 They wil throw their silver away in the streets and their gold they wil regard as a pollution; neithertheir silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of Yahweh's fury. Never again wil they haveenough to eat, never again wil they fil their bellies, since that was the occasion for their guilt. |
| 20 Orgulhavam-se dos seus adornos, e disso fizeram os seus ídolos abomináveis; por tal motivo farei que seja para eles uma imundicie, | 20 They used to pride themselves on the beauty of their jewel ery, out of which they made theirloathsome images, their horrors; so now I have made it pol ute them. |
| 21 pô-lo-ei nas mãos dos estranhos para ser saqueado: servirá de presa aos ímpios da terra, que o contaminarão. | 21 I shal hand it over as plunder to foreigners, as loot to the most evil people on earth. They wil profaneit. |
| 22 Apartarei deles o meu rosto e será profanado o meu santuário; entrarão nele bárbaros que o macularão. | 22 I shal turn my face away from them, while my treasure-house is profaned and robbers wil force theirway in and profane it. |
| 23 Prepara cadeias, porque a terra está cheia de delitos sanguinários, e a cidade repleta de violências. | 23 "Forge yourself a chain; for the country is full of bloody executions and the city ful of deeds ofviolence, |
| 24 Farei vir os mais perversos dentre as gentes, e eles se apoderarão das suas casas; farei cessar a soberba dos poderosos, e serão profanados os seus santuários. | 24 so I shall bring the cruel est of the nations to seize their houses. I shal put an end to the pride of theire'lite, and their sanctuary wil be profaned. |
| 25 Chega a ruína! Eles buscarão a paz, e não a haverá. | 25 Terror is on the way: they will look for peace and there wil be none. |
| 26 A um desastre sucederá outro, a uma notícia (funesta) outra notícia sucederá; buscarão visões junto dos profetas, e a lei não existirá no sacerdote, nem o conselho nos anciães. | 26 Disaster will fol ow on disaster, rumour on rumour; they will pester the prophet for a vision; the priestwil be at a loss over the law and the elders on how to advise. |
| 27 O rei chorará, e o príncipe cobrir-se-á de tristeza, e as mãos do povo da terra tremerão de medo. Tratá-los-ei segundo as suas obras, julgá-los-ei conforme eles julgaram os outros. Então saberão que eu sou o Senhor. | 27 The king wil go into mourning, the prince be plunged in grief, the hands of the country people tremble.I shal treat them as their conduct deserves, and judge them as their own verdicts merit. Then they wil know thatI am Yahweh!" ' |
