| 1 Entretanto eis o que diz o Senhor que te criou, ó Jacob, que te formou, ó Israel: Não temas, porque eu te remi e te chamei pelo teu nome; tu és meu. | 1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. |
| 2 Quando passares por entre as águas (dos perigos), eu serei contigo, e os rios não te submergirão; quando andares por entre o fogo, não serás queimado, e a chama não arderá em ti. | 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. |
| 3 Porque eu sou o Senhor teu Deus, o Santo de Israel, teu Salvador; eu dei por teu resgate o Egito, a Etiópia e Sabá. | 3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. |
| 4 Visto que és de muita estima, precioso, a meus olhos, visto que te amo, entregarei homens por ti, povos pela tua vida. | 4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. |
| 5 Não temas, porque eu sou contigo; eu trarei do oriente a tua posteridade e te congregarei do ocidente. | 5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; |
| 6 Eu direi ao aquilão: Dá-mos cá; e ao meio-dia: Não os retenhas; conduze-me os meus filhos de países remotos, e as minhas filhas das extremidades da terra, | 6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; |
| 7 porque todos aqueles que trazem o meu nome, eu os criei, os formei e os fiz para minha glória. | 7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. |
| 8 Faze comparecer o povo cego, apesar de ter olhos; (o povo) surdo, apesar de ter ouvidos. | 8 Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears. |
| 9 Juntem-se todas as nações, reúnam-se os povos. Quem, dentre eles, anunciou isto, e nos contou o que aconteceu outrora? Apresentem as suas testemunhas, justifiquem-se de modo que os ouvintes possam dizer: É verdade. | 9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth. |
| 10 Vós sois as minhas testemunhas, diz o Senhor, e o meu servo a quem escolhi, para que saibais e me acrediteis, e entendais que eu sou o mesmo (Deus). Antes de mim não foi formado nenhum Deus, nem o será depois de mim. | 10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. |
| 11 Sou eu, sou eu o Senhor, e fora de mim não há salvador. | 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. |
| 12 Eu é que vos anunciei (o futuro) e que vos salvei; eu vos fiz ouvir (o futuro), e não houve entre vós (deus) estranho; vós sois as minhas testemunhas, diz o Senhor, e eu sou o Deus (único e verdadeiro). | 12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. |
| 13 E eu sou o mesmo desde sempre, e não há nada que possa subtrair-se à minha mão. Agirei, e quem mo impedirá? | 13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it? |
| 14 Eis o que diz o Senhor, vosso Redentor, o Santo de Israel: Por amor de vós, mandei (uma expedição) Babilônia, e obriguei-os a fugir, a eles, Caldeus, nas naus em que se gloriavam. | 14 Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. |
| 15 Eu sou o Senhor, o vosso Santo, o criador de Israel, vosso rei. | 15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King. |
| 16 Eis o que diz o Senhor, o qual (quando saístes do Egito) vos abriu um caminho pelo meio do mar, uma vereda por entre as torrentes das águas; | 16 Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; |
| 17 que pôs em campanha carros e cavalos, tropas e esforçados combatentes - todos eles juntos dormiram (o sono da morte), para nunca mais despertar, foram abafados e apagados como uma torcida. | 17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow. |
| 18 (Mas) não vos lembreis das coisas passadas, não olheis para as antigas. | 18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. |
| 19 Eis que vou realizar uma obra nova (e mais maravilhosa), e ela vai já aparecer: não a conhecereis? Abrirei no deserto um caminho, e farei brotar rios numa terra inacessível. | 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. |
| 20 Os animais selvagens, os chacais e os avestruzes me glorificarão, porque fiz brotar águas no deserto, rios numa terra inacessível, para dar de beber ao meu povo, ao meu escolhido. | 20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. |
| 21 Eu formei este povo para mim, ele publicará o meu louvor. | 21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. |
| 22 Tu, Jacob, não me invocaste, tu, Israel, não fizeste caso de mim. | 22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel. |
| 23 Não me ofereceste carneiros em holocausto, nem me glorificaste com os teus sacrifícios; não te fui oneroso com (exigências de) oblações, nem te importunei com (exigências de) incenso. | 23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense. |
| 24 Tu não compraste para mim com dinheiro a cana aromática, nem me satisfizeste com a gordura das tuas vítimas. Antes me carregaste com os teus pecados, e me fatigaste com as tuas iniquidades. | 24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities. |
| 25 (Apesar disso) sou eu, sou eu mesmo que apago as tuas iniquidades por amor de mim, e não me lembrarei mais dos teus pecados. | 25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. |
| 26 Aviva-me a memória, entremos em juízo; expõe as tuas razões para te justificares. | 26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified. |
| 27 Teu primeiro pai pecou, e os teus intérpretes prevaricaram contra mim. | 27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me. |
| 28 Por isso degradei os príncipes do santuário, entreguei Jacob ao extermínio e Israel ao opróbrio. | 28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches. |
