| 1 O rei disse a toda a assembleia: Deus escolheu um só, o meu filho Salomão, que é jovem e tenro; a empresa é grande, porque não se prepara a morada para um homem, mas para Deus. | 1 And king David said to all the assembly: Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is as yet young and tender: and the work is great, for a house is prepared not for man, but for God. |
| 2 Eu, pois, com todas as minha forças preparei o que era necessário para as despesas da casa do meu Deus: ouro para os vasos de ouro, prata para os de prata, bronze para as obras de bronze, ferro para as de ferro, madeira para as de madeira; preparei também pedras de ónix, e pedras semelhantes ao alabastro, e de diversas cores, toda a casta de pedras preciosas e mármores de Paros em grandíssima quantidade. | 2 And I with all my ability have prepared the expenses for the house of my God. Gold for vessels of gold, and silver for vessels of silver, brass for things of brass, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood: and onyx stones, and stones like alabaster, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble of Paros in great abundance. |
| 3 Além destas coisas, que ofereci para a casa do meu Deus, dou do meu pecúlio o ouro e a prata para o templo do meu Deus, sem falar do que preparei para o santuário: | 3 Now over and above the things which I have offered into the house of my God I give of my own proper goods, gold and silver for the temple of my God, beside what things I have prepared for the holy house. |
| 4 três mil talentos de ouro de Ofir, e sete mil talentos de prata finíssima para revestimento das paredes do templo. | 4 Three thousand talents of gold of the gold of Ophir: and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the temple. |
| 5 Desta sorte, quando seja preciso ouro, façam-se de ouro as obras, quando for preciso a prata, façam-se de prata as obras pelas mãos dos artistas. Se alguém, por sua vontade, oferecer alguma coisa ao Senhor, encha hoje as suas mãos e ofereça ao Senhor o que bem lhe parecer. | 5 And gold for wheresoever there is need of gold: and silver for wheresoever there is need of silver, for the works to be made by the hands of the artificers: now if any man is willing to offer, let him fill his hand to day, and offer what he pleaseth to the Lord. |
| 6 Fizeram ofertas voluntàriamente os chefes das famílias, os nobres das tribos de Israel, os chefes de milhar, os centuriões e os intendentes da fazenda do rei. | 6 Then the heads of the families, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands, and of hundreds, and the overseers of the king's possessions promised, |
| 7 Deram para as obras da casa de Deus cinco mil talentos de ouro, e dez mil dáricos; dez mil talentos de prata, dezoito mil talentos de cobre, e cem mil talentos de ferro. | 7 And they gave for the works of the house of the Lord, of gold, five thousand talents, and ten thousand solids: of silver ten thousand talents: and of brass eighteen thousand talents: and of iron a hundred thousand talents. |
| 8 Todos os que tinham pedras preciosas, deram-nas para os tesouros da casa do Senhor, por mão de Jaiel Gersonita. | 8 And all they that had stones, gave them to the treasures of the house of the Lord, by the hand of Jahiel the Gersonite. |
| 9 O povo alegrou-se, ao fazer estas oferendas voluntárias, porque as fazia de todo o seu coração ao Senhor; o rei Davide da mesma sorte se alegrou em extremo, | 9 And the people rejoiced, when they promised their offerings willingly: because they offered them to the Lord with all their heart: and David the king rejoiced also with a great joy. |
| 10 e louvou o Senhor diante de toda esta multidão, dizendo: Bem-dito és tu, ó Senhor Deus de Israel, nosso pai, de eternidade em eternidade. | 10 And he blessed the Lord before all the multitude, and he said: Blessed art thou, O Lord the God of Israel, our father from eternity to eternity. |
| 11 Tua é, Senhor, a grandeza, o poder, honra, majestade e porque tudo o que há no céu e na terra, é teu; teu é, Senhor, o império, e tu estás acima de todos os príncipes. | 11 Thine, O Lord, is magnificence, and power, and glory, and victory: and to thee is praise: for all that is in heaven, and in earth, is thine: thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art above all princes. |
| 12 Tuas são as riquezas, tua é a glória; tu és o dominador de tudo, na tua mão está a fortaleza e o poder; na tua mão está o dar grandeza e solidez a todas as coisas. | 12 Thine are riches, and thine is glory, thou hast dominion over all, in thy hand is power and might: in thy hand greatness, and the empire of all things. |
| 13 Agora, pois, ó Deus nosso, nós te louvamos e celebramos o teu nome glorioso. | 13 Now therefore our God we give thanks to thee, and we praise thy glorious name. |
| 14 Quem sou eu, e quem é o meu povo, para te podermos oferecer todas estas coisas? Tudo é teu, e o que recebemos da tua mão, isso mesmo te oferecemos. | 14 Who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to promise thee all these things? all things are thine: and we have given thee what we received of thy hand. |
| 15 Nós somos peregrinos e estrangeiros diante de ti, como todos os nossos pais. Os nossos dias são como a sombra sobre a terra, e não há consistência alguma. | 15 For we are sojourners before thee, and strangers, as were all our fathers. Our days upon earth are as a shadow, and there is no stay. |
| 16 Senhor nosso Deus, toda esta riqueza, que juntamos para se edificar uma casa ao teu santo nome, veio da tua mão, e todas as coisas são tuas. | 16 O Lord our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name, is from thy hand, and all things are thine. |
| 17 Eu sei, Deus meu, que sondas os corações e que amas a simplicidade, e por isso eu também te ofereci alegre todas estas coisas, na simplicidade do meu coração, e vi que o teu povo, que aqui está reunido, te ofereceu os seus presentes com grande alegria. | 17 I know my God that thou provest hearts, and lovest simplicity, wherefore I also in the simplicity of my heart, have joyfully offered all these things: and I have seen with great joy thy people, which are here present, offer thee their offerings. |
| 18 Senbor Deus de nossos pais Abraão, Isaac e Israel, conserva eternamente este afeto no coração do teu povo, e encaminha para ti o seu coração. | 18 O Lord God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Israel our fathers, keep for ever this will of their heart, and let this mind remain always for the worship of thee. |
| 19 Dá também a meu filho Salomão um coração perfeito, para que guarde os teus mandamentos, as tuas leis e as tuas cerimônias, cumpra tudo, e edifique a casa, para a qual fiz preparativos. | 19 And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, that he may keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy ceremonies, and do all things: and build the house, for which I have provided the charges. |
| 20 Depois disto, Davide disse a todo o ajuntamento: Bem-dizei o Senhor nosso Deus. E todo o povo bem-disse o Senhor Deus de seus pais, prostrando-se e adorando a Deus, e em seguida (prestando as suas homenagens) ao rei. | 20 And David commanded all the assembly: Bless ye the Lord our God. And all the assembly blessed the Lord the God of their fathers: and they bowed themselves and worshipped God, and then the king. |
| 21 Imolaram vítimas ao Senhor, e, no dia seguinte, ofereceram em holocausto mil touros, mil carneiros, mil cordeiros, com as suas libações ordinárias e muitos outros sacrifícios por todo o Israel. | 21 And they sacrificed victims to the Lord: and they offered holocausts the next day, a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their libations, and with every thing prescribed most abundantly for all Israel. |
| 22 E comeram e beberam naquele dia diante do Senhor, com grande regozijo. Ungiram segunda vez Salomão, filho de Davide. Ungiram-no diante do Senhor como rei, e a Sadoc como pontífice. | 22 And they ate, and drank before the Lord that day with great joy. And they anointed the second time Solomon the son of David. And they anointed him to the Lord to be prince, end Sadoc to be high priest. |
| 23 Salomão sentou-se no trono do Senhor, como rei em lugar de Davide, seu pai; agradou a todos, e todo o Israel lhe rendeu obediência. | 23 And Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and he pleased all: and all Israel obeyed him. |
| 24 Todos os príncipes, todos os grandes, mesmo todos os filhos do rei Davide juraram fidelidade e submeteram-se ao rei Salomão. | 24 And all the princes, and men of power, and all the sons of king David gave their hand, and were subject to Solomon the king. |
| 25 O Senhor elevou Salomão sobre todo o Israel e deu-lhe no seu reinado tal glória, qual antes dele não teve nenhum rei de Israel. | 25 And the Lord magnified Solomon over all Israel: and gave him the glory of a reign, such as no king of Israel had before him. |
| 26 Davide, filho de Isaf, assim reinou sobre todo o Israel. | 26 So David the son of Isai reigned over all Israel. |
| 27 O tempo que reinou sobre Israel foi de quarenta anos: em Hebron reinou sete anos, e em Jerusalém trinta e três anos. | 27 And the days that he reigned over Israel, were forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem three and thirty years. |
| 28 Morreu numa ditosa velhice, cheio de dias, de bens e de glória. Salomão seu filho reinou em lugar dele. | 28 And he died in a good age, full of days, and riches, and glory. And Solomon his son reigned in his stead. |
| 29 As ações do rei Davide, desde as primeiras às últimas, estão escritas no livro de Samuel, o vidente, no livro do profeta Natan e no volume de Gad, o vidente, | 29 Now the acts of king David first and last are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer: |
| 30 com tudo o que ocorreu no seu reinado, o seu poder e as vicissitudes por que passou, assim como Israel e todos os reinos da terra. | 30 And of all his reign, and his valour, and of the times that passed under him, either in Israel, or in all the kingdoms of the countries. |
