Estes disseram a Davide: Não entrarás cá, sem que lances fora os cegos e os coxos, os quais estão dizendo: Davide não entrará aqui. | 6 The king and his men then marched on Jerusalem, on the Jebusites living in the territory. These said toDavid, 'You wil not get in here. The blind and the lame wil hold you off.' (That is to say: David will never get inhere.) |

| 20 Foi, pois, Davide a Baal Farasim, onde os derrotou, e disse: O Senhor irrompeu sobre os meus inimigos à minha vista, como águas que irrompem sobre os diques, despedaçando-os. Por isso aquele lugar foi chamado Baal Farasim. | 20 Accordingly, David went to Baal-Perazim and there David defeated them. He said, 'Yahweh has madea breach in my enemies for me, as though they had been breached by a flood.' This is why the place was giventhe name Baal-Perazim. |
| 21 Os Filisteus deixaram lá os seus ídolos, os quais Davide e a sua gente levaram (para queimar). | 21 They had left their gods behind them there, and David and his men carried them off. |
| 22 Os Filisteus voltaram novamente e espalharam-se pelo vale dos Refains. | 22 Again the Philistines invaded and deployed in the Valley of the Rephaim. |

| 25 Fez, pois, Davide como o Senhor lhe tinha mandado, e derrotou os Filisteus desde Gabaa até chegar a Gezer. | 25 David did as Yahweh had ordered and beat the Philistines from Gibeon to the Pass of Gezer. |
