1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 “Voici un ordre pour les Israélites. Tu leur diras: Lorsque vous serez entrés dans le pays de Canaan, voici le territoire qui sera votre possession: c’est le pays de Canaan selon ses frontières.	2 “Instruct the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: When you will have entered into the land of Canaan, and it has fallen into your possession by lot, it shall be bound by these limits:
3 Il s’étendra au sud jusqu’au désert de Tsin à la limite d’Édom. Votre frontière au sud commencera à l’est de la Mer Salée.	3 The southern part shall begin from the wilderness of Sin, which is next to Edom, and it shall have the Sea of Salt as a limit to the east.
4 Elle descendra ensuite vers le sud dans la direction de la Montée-des-Scorpions, elle passera par Tsin et arrivera au sud à Qadesh-Barné. Elle ira ensuite vers Hasar-Addar, elle passera par Asmon,	4 It shall circle on the south side along the ascent of the Scorpion, by this way crossing into Senna, and passing through, from the south, as far as Kadesh-barnea, from which its confines shall go out to the town called Adar, and extend even to Azmon.
5 et d’Asmon, la frontière tournera vers le torrent d’Égypte pour aboutir à la mer.	5 And its limits shall go around from Azmon to the Torrent of Egypt, and shall end at the shore of the Great Sea.
6 La Grande Mer vous servira de frontière maritime, ce sera votre frontière occidentale.	6 Then the western region shall begin from the Great Sea, and the same shall be its end.
7 Voici votre frontière au nord: de la Grande Mer vous tracerez une ligne vers Hor-la-Montagne,	7 Furthermore, toward the northern region, its limits shall begin from the Great Sea, passing through even to the highest mountain.
8 puis de Hor-la-Montagne vous tracerez encore une ligne jusqu’à l’Entrée-de-Hamat. La frontière passera à Sédad,	8 From there, it limits shall advance into Hamath, as far as the limits of Zedad.
9 elle se prolongera vers Zifron et s’achèvera à Hasar-Énan. Voilà quelle sera votre frontière au nord.	9 And its confines shall go all the way to Ziphron, and to the village of Enan. These shall be the limits on the northern side.
10 Pour la frontière de l’est, vous tracerez une ligne depuis Hasar-Énan jusqu’à Chéfam.	10 From there, its limits shall be measured, facing the east side, from the village of Enan as far as Shepham.
11 La frontière descendra de Chéfam vers Harbel, à l’est d’Ayin, elle descendra encore pour rejoindre la rive orientale de la mer de Kinnéret.	11 And from Shepham, the boundaries shall descend into Riblah, opposite the fountain of Daphnis. From there, the boundaries shall pass through, opposite the east, to the Sea of Chinnereth,
12 Ensuite la frontière longera le Jourdain pour arriver à la Mer Salée. Voilà votre pays avec les frontières qui l’entourent.”	12 and shall extend as far as the Jordan, and, at the furthest extent, shall be enclosed by the Sea of Salt. You shall have this land, with its borders all around.”
13 Moïse donna cet ordre aux Israélites: “Voilà le pays que vous vous partagerez par le sort. Yahvé a ordonné de le donner aux neuf tribus et à la demi tribu.	13 And Moses instructed the sons of Israel, saying: “This shall be the land which you shall possess by lot, and which the Lord has ordered to be given to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.
14 En effet, les clans de la tribu de Ruben, les clans de la tribu de Gad et la demi-tribu de Manassé ont déjà pris leur part d’héritage.	14 For the tribe of the sons of Ruben, by their families, and the tribe of the sons of Gad, according to the number of their kinships, and also one half of the tribe of Manasseh,
15 Ces deux tribus et cette demi-tribu ont pris leur héritage au-delà du Jourdain, à l’est.”	15 that is, two and a half tribes, have received their portion across the Jordan, opposite Jericho, toward the eastern side.”
16 Yahvé dit encore à Moïse:	16 And the Lord said to Moses:
17 “Voici les noms des hommes qui feront le partage du pays: Éléazar, le prêtre, et Josué fils de Noun.	17 “These are the names of the men, who shall divide the land for you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun,
18 Vous choisirez aussi un chef par tribu pour partager le pays.	18 and one leader from each tribe,
19 Voici les noms de ces hommes: pour la tribu de Juda, Caleb fils de Yéfouné;	19 whose names are these: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;
20 pour la tribu de Siméon, Chémouel fils d’Ammihoud;	20 from the tribe of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud;
21 pour la tribu de Benjamin, Élidad fils de Kislon;	21 from the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon;
22 pour la tribu de Dan, le chef Bouki fils de Yogli;	22 from the tribe of the sons of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli;
23 pour les fils de Joseph, pour la tribu de Manassé, le chef Hanniel fils d’Éfod;	23 of the sons of Joseph, from the tribe of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod;
24 et pour la tribu d’Éphraïm, le chef Kémouel fils de Chiftan;	24 from the tribe of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;
25 pour la tribu de Zabulon, le chef Élisafan fils de Parnak;	25 from the tribe of Zebulon, Elizaphan the son of Parnach;
26 pour la tribu d’Issacar, le chef Paltiel fils d’Azzan;	26 from the tribe of Issachar, Paltiel the leader, the son of Azzan;
27 pour la tribu d’Asher, le chef Ahioud fils de Chélomi;	27 from the tribe of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi;
28 pour la tribu de Nephtali, le chef Pédahel fils d’Ammihoud.	28 from the tribe of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”
29 Ce sont eux que Yahvé désigna pour partager la terre de Canaan entre les Israélites.	29 These are the ones that the Lord has ordered to divide the land of Canaan to the sons of Israel.
