1 Il Signore disse a Mosè:	1 The LORD spoke to Moses, and said,
2 "Parla ad Aronne e digli: Quando collocherai le lampade, le sette lampade proiettino la luce dinanzi al candelabro".	2 "Give Aaron this command: When you set up the seven lamps, have them throw their light toward the front of the lampstand."
3 Così fece Aronne: collocò le lampade così che illuminassero di fronte al candelabro, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.	3 Aaron did so, setting up the lamps to face toward the front of the lampstand, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
4 Il candelabro era fatto d'oro massiccio; dal suo fusto ai suoi bracci era massiccio. Secondo la visione che il Signore aveva mostrato a Mosè, così era stato fatto il candelabro.	4 The lampstand was made of beaten gold in both its shaft and its branches, according to the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses.
5 Il Signore disse a Mosè:	5 The LORD said to Moses:
6 "Prendi i leviti tra i figli d'Israele e purificali.	6 "Take the Levites from among the Israelites and purify them.
7 Così farai per la loro purificazione: spargi su di loro l'acqua dell'espiazione, poi si raseranno in tutto il corpo, si laveranno i vestiti e saranno puri.	7 This is what you shall do to them to purify them. Sprinkle them with the water of remission; then have them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes, and so purify themselves.
8 Prenderanno un toro giovane e la propria offerta di fior di farina intrisa d'olio, mentre tu prenderai un secondo toro giovane per il peccato.	8 They shall take a young bull, along with its cereal offering of fine flour mixed with oil; you shall take another young bull for a sin offering.
9 Farai avvicinare i leviti davanti alla tenda del convegno e farai radunare tutta la comunità dei figli d'Israele.	9 Then have the Levites come forward in front of the meeting tent, where you shall assemble also the whole community of the Israelites.
10 Presenterai i leviti al Signore e i figli d'Israele poseranno le loro mani sui leviti.	10 While the Levites are present before the LORD, the Israelites shall lay their hands upon them.
11 Aronne presenterà i leviti come offerta da farsi con il rito di agitazione davanti al Signore, da parte dei figli d'Israele, ed essi faranno il servizio del Signore.	11 Let Aaron then offer the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the Israelites, thus devoting them to the service of the LORD.
12 Poi i leviti poseranno le loro mani sulla testa dei tori: con uno farai il sacrificio del peccato, con l'altro l'olocausto al Signore, per l'espiazione dei leviti.	12 The Levites in turn shall lay their hands on the heads of the bullocks, which shall then be immolated, the one as a sin offering and the other as a holocaust to the LORD, in atonement for the Levites.
13 Farai stare i leviti davanti ad Aronne e ai suoi figli e li presenterai come offerta da farsi con il rito di agitazione davanti al Signore.	13 Thus, then, shall you have the Levites stand before Aaron and his sons, to be offered as a wave offering to the LORD;
14 Separerai i leviti dai figli d'Israele ed essi saranno miei.	14 and thus shall you set aside the Levites from the rest of the Israelites, that they may be mine.
15 Dopo di che i leviti verranno a lavorare nella tenda del convegno: li purificherai e li presenterai come un'offerta fatta con il rito dell'agitazione,	15 "Only then shall the Levites enter upon their service in the meeting tent. You shall purify them and offer them as a wave offering;
16 perché sono "donati", miei "donati", tra i figli d'Israele; me li sono presi al posto di tutti quelli che aprono il grembo, al posto di tutti i primogeniti tra i figli d'Israele.	16 because they, among the Israelites, are strictly dedicated to me; I have taken them for myself in place of every first-born that opens the womb among the Israelites.
17 Perché mio è ogni primogenito dei figli d'Israele, uomo e bestia: nel giorno in cui colpii tutti i primogeniti nella terra d'Egitto li santificai per me,	17 Indeed, all the first-born among the Israelites, both of man and of beast, belong to me; I consecrated them to myself on the day I slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt.
18 e presi i leviti al posto di tutti i primogeniti dei figli d'Israele	18 But in place of all the first-born Israelites I have taken the Levites;
19 e diedi i leviti come "donati" ad Aronne e ai suoi figli, dal mezzo dei figli d'Israele, per fare il servizio dei figli d'Israele nella tenda del convegno e per espiare per i figli d'Israele, in modo che non ci sia un flagello se i figli di Israele si avvicinano al santuario".	19 and I have given these dedicated Israelites to Aaron and his sons to discharge the duties of the Israelites in the meeting tent and to make atonement for them, so that no plague may strike among the Israelites should they come near the sanctuary."
20 Mosè, Aronne e tutta la comunità dei figli d'Israele fecero ai leviti quanto il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè riguardo a loro.	20 Thus, then, did Moses and Aaron and the whole community of the Israelites deal with the Levites, carrying out exactly the command which the LORD had given Moses concerning them.
21 I leviti si purificarono, lavarono i loro vestiti, poi Aronne li dispose davanti al Signore; Aronne espiò per loro, per purificarli.	21 When the Levites had cleansed themselves of sin and washed their clothes, Aaron offered them as a wave offering before the LORD, and made atonement for them to purify them.
22 Dopo di che i leviti vennero a fare il servizio nella tenda del convegno davanti ad Aronne e ai suoi figli. Come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè per i leviti, così essi fecero.	22 Only then did they enter upon their service in the meeting tent under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. The command which the LORD had given Moses concerning the Levites was carried out.
23 Il Signore disse a Mosè:	23 The LORD said to Moses:
24 "Questo riguarda i leviti: da venticinque anni in su verranno a schierarsi in servizio per il lavoro nella tenda del convegno,	24 "This is the rule for the Levites. Each from his twenty-fifth year onward shall perform the required service in the meeting tent.
25 e da cinquanta anni in poi si ritireranno dall'esercizio del lavoro e non lavoreranno più.	25 When he is fifty years old, he shall retire from the required service and work no longer.
26 Serviranno i loro fratelli nella tenda del convegno per conservare le osservanze e il lavoro. Non lavoreranno. Così farai ai leviti, riguardo ai loro uffici".	26 His service with his fellow Levites shall consist in sharing their responsibilities in the meeting tent, but he shall not do the work. This, then, is how you are to regulate the duties of the Levites."
