1 Il Signore disse a Mosè sul monte Sinai:	1 The LORD said to Moses on Mount Sinai,
2 "Ordina ai figli d'Israele: Quando entrerete nel paese che vi do, la terra osserverà un tempo di riposo per il Signore:	2 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land that I am giving you, let the land, too, keep a sabbath for the LORD.
3 per sei anni seminerai il tuo campo e per sei anni poterai la tua vigna e ne raccoglierai i prodotti;	3 For six years you may sow your field, and for six years prune your vineyard, gathering in their produce.
4 nel settimo anno sarà un riposo completo per la terra, un riposo per il Signore. Non seminerai il tuo campo e non poterai la tua vigna,	4 But during the seventh year the land shall have a complete rest, a sabbath for the LORD, when you may neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard.
5 non mieterai il prodotto spontaneo al tempo del tuo raccolto, e non vendemmierai i grappoli della tua vite non potata. Sia un anno di riposo completo per la terra.	5 The aftergrowth of your harvest you shall not reap, nor shall you pick the grapes of your untrimmed vines in this year of sabbath rest for the land.
6 Il prodotto della terra in riposo vi servirà di cibo, a te, al tuo servo e alla tua serva e all'operaio preso a giornata e al tuo ospite, cioè a coloro che risiedono presso di te.	6 While the land has its sabbath, all its produce will be food equally for you yourself and for your male and female slaves, for your hired help and the tenants who live with you,
7 Tutto quanto essa produrrà servirà di cibo al tuo bestiame e a ogni animale che si trova nel paese.	7 and likewise for your livestock and for the wild animals on your land.
8 Tu conterai sette settimane di anni, sette volte sette anni; il periodo di sette settimane di anni è quarantanove anni.	8 "Seven weeks of years shall you count--seven times seven years--so that the seven cycles amount to forty-nine years.
9 Farai risuonare il corno dell'acclamazione nel settimo mese, il dieci del mese; nel giorno di espiazione farai risuonare il corno in tutta la vostra terra.	9 Then, on the tenth day of the seventh month let the trumpet resound; on this, the Day of Atonement, the trumpet blast shall re-echo throughout your land.
10 Dichiarerete sacro il cinquantesimo anno e proclamerete nel paese la libertà per ogni suo abitante. Sarà per voi un giubileo; ognuno tornerà nei suoi possessi, ognuno tornerà nella sua famiglia.	10 This fiftieth year you shall make sacred by proclaiming liberty in the land for all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when every one of you shall return to his own property, every one to his own family estate.
11 Sarà un giubileo, il cinquantesimo anno, per voi; non seminerete e non raccoglierete i prodotti della terra non seminata e non vendemmierete la vite non potata.	11 In this fiftieth year, your year of jubilee, you shall not sow, nor shall you reap the aftergrowth or pick the grapes from the untrimmed vines.
12 Il giubileo sarà infatti sacro per voi; potrete mangiare di quanto il campo produce spontaneamente.	12 Since this is the jubilee, which shall be sacred for you, you may not eat of its produce, except as taken directly from the field.
13 In tale anno giubilare ognuno torni nei suoi possessi.	13 "In this year of jubilee, then, every one of you shall return to his own property.
14 Se venderai qualcosa a un tuo compatriota o se comprerai qualcosa da un tuo compatriota, non danneggiatevi l'un l'altro.	14 Therefore, when you sell any land to your neighbor or buy any from him, do not deal unfairly.
15 Secondo il numero degli anni trascorsi dopo il giubileo stabilirai il prezzo d'acquisto da parte del tuo compatriota, ed egli secondo il numero degli anni di rendita ti stabilirà il prezzo di vendita;	15 On the basis of the number of years since the last jubilee shall you purchase the land from him; and so also, on the basis of the number of years for crops, shall he sell it to you.
16 più grande è il numero degli anni da trascorrere prima del giubileo e più aumenterai il prezzo; più piccolo è il numero degli anni e più ridurrai il prezzo, perché è un certo numero di raccolti che egli ti vende.	16 When the years are many, the price shall be so much the more; when the years are few, the price shall be so much the less. For it is really the number of crops that he sells you.
17 Non danneggiatevi l'un l'altro e temi il tuo Dio. Io sono il Signore Dio tuo.	17 Do not deal unfairly, then; but stand in fear of your God. I, the LORD, am your God.
18 Mettete in pratica le mie leggi e osservate i miei precetti, praticateli e risiederete tranquilli nel paese.	18 "Observe my precepts and be careful to keep my regulations, for then you will dwell securely in the land.
19 La terra darà i suoi frutti e voi mangerete a sazietà e risiederete tranquillamente in essa.	19 The land will yield its fruit and you will have food in abundance, so that you may live there without worry.
20 Se direte: "Che cosa mangeremo nell'anno settimo, se non abbiamo seminato né raccolto le nostre messi?",	20 Therefore, do not say, 'What shall we eat in the seventh year, if we do not then sow or reap our crop?'
21 io ho comandato che la mia benedizione sia sopra di voi nell'anno sesto, ed essa produrrà messi per tre anni.	21 I will bestow such blessings on you in the sixth year that there will then be crop enough for three years.
22 Nell'ottavo anno seminerete e mangerete del vecchio raccolto fino all'anno nono; fino a che venga il raccolto di tale anno, mangerete il vecchio raccolto.	22 When you sow in the eighth year, you will continue to eat from the old crop; and even into the ninth year, when the crop comes in, you will still have the old to eat from.
23 La terra non sarà venduta perdendone ogni diritto, perché mia è la terra e voi siete residenti e ospiti presso di me.	23 "The land shall not be sold in perpetuity; for the land is mine, and you are but aliens who have become my tenants.
24 Per ogni terreno in vostro possesso lascerete una possibilità di riscatto del terreno.	24 Therefore, in every part of the country that you occupy, you must permit the land to be redeemed.
25 Se un tuo fratello si trova in difficoltà e vende una parte dei suoi possedimenti, venga il suo parente più prossimo a esercitare il diritto di riscatto su quanto vende il suo fratello.	25 When one of your countrymen is reduced to poverty and has to sell some of his property, his closest relative, who has the right to redeem it, may go and buy back what his kinsman has sold.
26 Chi non ha un parente prossimo, quando sarà arrivato a trovare i mezzi necessari per il suo riscatto,	26 If, however, the man has no relative to redeem his land, but later on acquires sufficient means to buy it back in his own name,
27 calcoli gli anni della sua cessione e restituisca il denaro che è ancora dovuto all'uomo a cui ha venduto e rientri nel suo possesso.	27 he shall make a deduction from the price in proportion to the number of years since the sale, and then pay back the balance to the one to whom he sold it, so that he may thus regain his own property.
28 Se non riuscirà ad avere mezzi sufficienti per la restituzione, il bene venduto resti nelle mani di chi l'ha comprato fino all'anno del giubileo; questi ne uscirà nell'anno del giubileo e l'altro rientrerà nel suo possesso.	28 But if he does not acquire sufficient means to buy back his land, what he has sold shall remain in the possession of the purchaser until the jubilee, when it must be released and returned to its original owner.
29 Se qualcuno vende una casa d'abitazione in una città cinta di mura, avrà diritto di riscatto fino allo spirare dell'anno in cui ha venduto; il suo diritto al riscatto sarà limitato.	29 "When someone sells a dwelling in a walled town, he has the right to buy it back during the time of one full year from its sale.
30 Se il riscatto non ha avuto luogo prima dello spirare dell'intero anno, la casa, che si trova in una città cinta di mura, passi in possesso perpetuo di chi l'ha comprata e dei suoi discendenti; non dovrà uscirne nell'anno giubilare.	30 But if such a house in a walled town has not been redeemed at the end of a full year, it shall belong in perpetuity to the purchaser and his descendants; nor shall it be released in the jubilee.
31 Ma le case dei villaggi non cinti di mura saranno considerate come fondi rustici, ci sarà per esse diritto di riscatto, e nell'anno giubilare l'acquirente ne uscirà.	31 However, houses in villages that are not encircled by walls shall be considered as belonging to the surrounding farm land; they may be redeemed at any time, and in the jubilee they must be released.
32 Città dei leviti: per le case delle città che sono loro possesso, il diritto di riscatto sarà eterno per i leviti.	32 "In levitical cities the Levites shall always have the right to redeem the town houses that are their property.
33 Se colui che ha esercitato il riscatto appartiene ai leviti, lasci, nell'anno giubilare, la casa venduta in una delle città di loro proprietà, perché le case delle città levitiche sono loro possesso in mezzo ai figli d'Israele.	33 Any town house of the Levites in their cities that had been sold and not redeemed, shall be released in the jubilee; for the town houses of the Levites are their hereditary property in the midst of the Israelites.
34 I pascoli intorno alle loro città non siano venduti, perché sono un loro possesso perpetuo.	34 Moreover, the pasture land belonging to their cities shall not be sold at all; it must always remain their hereditary property.
35 Se il tuo fratello si trova in difficoltà ed è inadempiente con te, tu lo sostenterai come ospite e residente e vivrà presso di te.	35 "When one of your fellow countrymen is reduced to poverty and is unable to hold out beside you, extend to him the privileges of an alien or a tenant, so that he may continue to live with you.
36 Non prenderai da lui denaro per interesse o profitto. Temerai il tuo Dio e il tuo fratello vivrà presso di te.	36 Do not exact interest from your countryman either in money or in kind, but out of fear of God let him live with you.
37 Non gli darai il tuo denaro per ricavarne interesse, né per ricavarne profitto gli darai il tuo cibo.	37 You are to lend him neither money at interest nor food at a profit.
38 Io sono il Signore Dio vostro, che vi ha fatto uscire dalla terra d'Egitto, per darvi la terra di Canaan, per essere vostro Dio.	38 I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.
39 Se il tuo fratello si trova in difficoltà nei tuoi riguardi e si vende a te, non gli farai fare un lavoro da schiavo;	39 "When, then, your countryman becomes so impoverished beside you that he sells you his services, do not make him work as a slave.
40 vivrà presso di te come un salariato o un ospite. Fino all'anno del giubileo lavorerà con te;	40 Rather, let him be like a hired servant or like your tenant, working with you until the jubilee year,
41 poi ti lascerà, lui e i suoi figli con lui, e tornerà alla sua famiglia, e riprenderà quanto possedevano i suoi padri.	41 when he, together with his children, shall be released from your service and return to his kindred and to the property of his ancestors.
42 Perché sono miei servi, che ho fatto uscire dalla terra d'Egitto; non possono essere venduti come schiavi.	42 Since those whom I brought out of the land of Egypt are servants of mine, they shall not be sold as slaves to any man.
43 Non dominerai su di lui con durezza e temi il tuo Dio.	43 Do not lord it over them harshly, but stand in fear of your God.
44 Lo schiavo e la schiava di tua proprietà vi verranno dai popoli che abitano intorno a voi; da loro prenderete schiavi e schiave.	44 "Slaves, male and female, you may indeed possess, provided you buy them from among the neighboring nations.
45 Anche tra i figli degli ospiti che abitano presso di voi potrete prenderli e dalle loro famiglie che si trovano presso di voi e che hanno generato nella vostra terra; essi saranno vostro possesso.	45 You may also buy them from among the aliens who reside with you and from their children who are born and reared in your land. Such slaves you may own as chattels,
46 Li lascerete in eredità ai vostri figli dopo di voi, perché li assumano in possesso eterno; presso di loro prenderete gli schiavi. Ma tra i vostri fratelli, i figli d'Israele, nessuno domini duramente sull'altro.	46 and leave to your sons as their hereditary property, making them perpetual slaves. But you shall not lord it harshly over any of the Israelites, your kinsmen.
47 Se un ospite o un residente presso di te raggiunge l'agiatezza e un fratello si trova in difficoltà nei suoi riguardi e si vende schiavo a tale ospite o residente presso di te o a un membro della famiglia dell'ospite,	47 "When one of your countrymen is reduced to such poverty that he sells himself to a wealthy alien who has a permanent or a temporary residence among you, or to one of the descendants of an immigrant family,
48 dopo che si è venduto avrà possibilità di riscatto; uno tra i suoi fratelli lo può riscattare,	48 even after he has thus sold his services he still has the right of redemption; he may be redeemed by one of his own brothers,
49 o suo zio o suo cugino o qualche altro membro della sua famiglia lo può riscattare; o se ne avrà i mezzi, si può riscattare da sé.	49 or by his uncle or cousin, or by some other relative or fellow clansman; or, if he acquires the means, he may redeem himself.
50 Insieme con il suo compratore calcolerà il tempo a partire dall'anno in cui si è venduto fino all'anno giubilare, e l'ammontare del prezzo della vendita dipenderà dal numero degli anni, calcolando in base alla giornata di un salariato.	50 With his purchaser he shall compute the years from the sale to the jubilee, distributing the sale price over these years as though he had been hired as a day laborer.
51 Se gli anni sono ancora molti, in base al numero di essi rimborserà come suo riscatto una parte della somma con cui è stato acquistato.	51 The more such years there are, the more of the sale price he shall pay back as ransom;
52 Se gli anni che rimangono fino all'anno giubilare sono pochi, faccia il calcolo e secondo il numero degli anni rimborsi la somma per il suo riscatto.	52 the fewer years there are left before the jubilee year, the more he has to his credit; in proportion to his years of service shall he pay his ransom.
53 Stia presso il compratore come un salariato preso a servizio anno per anno, e questi non lo domini con durezza sotto i tuoi occhi.	53 The alien shall treat him as a servant hired on an annual basis, and he shall not lord it over him harshly under your very eyes.
54 Se non sarà stato riscattato nei modi predetti, sia libero nell'anno giubilare, lui e i suoi figli con lui.	54 If he is not thus redeemed, he shall nevertheless be released, together with his children, in the jubilee year.
55 A me infatti appartengono i figli d'Israele come servi; essi sono i miei servi che ho fatto uscire dalla terra d'Egitto. Io sono il Signore Dio loro.	55 For to me the Israelites belong as servants; they are servants of mine, because I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I, the LORD, your God.
