2 Grande è il Signore e degno di ogni lode nella città del nostro Dio. Il suo santo monte,	2 Great is the LORD and highly praised in the city of our God: The holy mountain,
3 che si eleva nella sua bellezza, è la gioia di tutta la terra: il monte Sion, l'arcana dimora del nord, la città del gran re.	3 fairest of heights, the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, the heights of Zaphon, the city of the great king.
4 Dio nei suoi torrioni qual rocca si è dimostrato.	4 God is its citadel, renowned as a stronghold.
5 Poiché ecco: i re si erano radunati, insieme avevano marciato;	5 See! The kings assembled, together they invaded.
6 ma appena essi videro, rimasero stupefatti, atterriti si diedero alla fuga;	6 When they looked they were astounded; terrified, they were put to flight!
7 là il terrore li colse, uno spasimo come di partoriente,	7 Trembling seized them there, anguish, like a woman's labor,
8 come al soffiar del vento d'oriente che sconquassa le navi di Tarsis.	8 As when the east wind wrecks the ships of Tarshish!

11 Come il tuo nome, o Dio, così giunge la tua lode su tutta la terra: piena di giustizia è la tua destra.	11 Like your name, O God, your praise reaches the ends of the earth. Your right hand is fully victorious.
12 Si rallegri il monte Sion, esultino le figlie di Giuda a causa dei tuoi giudizi.	12 Mount Zion is glad! The cities of Judah rejoice because of your saving deeds!
13 Girate intorno a Sion e andatele attorno: enumerate le sue torri;	13 Go about Zion, walk all around it, note the number of its towers.
14 osservate le sue mura, passate in rassegna i suoi torrioni, affinché possiate riferire a quelli della generazione ventura	14 Consider the ramparts, examine its citadels, that you may tell future generations:
