1 Davide si costruì edifici nella Città di Davide, preparò un posto per l'arca di Dio e le eresse una tenda.	1 Also, he made houses for himself in the City of David. And built a place for the ark of God, and he set up a tent for it.
2 Allora Davide disse: "Per portare l'arca di Dio non ci sono che i leviti, giacché il Signore scelse costoro per portare l'arca del Signore ed essere per sempre al suo servizio".	2 Then David said: “It is illicit for anyone to carry the ark of God except the Levites, whom the Lord chose to carry it and to minister to himself, even unto eternity.”
3 Davide convocò tutto Israele in Gerusalemme per trasportare l'arca del Signore nel posto che le aveva preparato.	3 And he gathered all of Israel in Jerusalem, so that the ark of God might be brought into its place, which he had prepared for it.
4 Davide radunò i figli di Aronne ed i leviti.	4 Certainly, there were both the sons of Aaron and the Levites:
5 Dei figli di Keat: Uriel, il principe, con i suoi centoventi fratelli.	5 From the sons of Kohath, Uriel was the leader, and his brothers were one hundred twenty.
6 Dei figli di Merari: Asaia, il principe, con i suoi duecentoventi fratelli.	6 From the sons of Merari: Asaiah was the leader, and his brothers were two hundred twenty.
7 Dei figli di Gherson: Gioele, il principe, con i suoi centotrenta fratelli.	7 From the sons of Gershom: Joel was the leader, and his brothers were one hundred thirty.
8 Dei figli di Elisafan: Semaia, il principe, con i suoi duecento fratelli.	8 From the sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah was the leader, and his brothers were two hundred.
9 Dei figli di Ebron: Eliel, il principe, con i suoi ottanta fratelli.	9 From the sons of Hebron: Eliel was the leader, and his brothers were eighty.
10 Dei figli di Uzziel: Amminadàb, il principe, con i suoi centododici fratelli.	10 From the sons of Uzziel: Amminadab was the leader, and his brothers were one hundred twelve.
11 Davide chiamò i sacerdoti Zadòk ed Ebiatàr ed i leviti Uriel, Asaia, Gioele, Semaia, Eliel e Amminadàb	11 And David summoned the priests, Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites: Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.
12 e disse loro: "Voi siete i capi dei casati dei leviti. Santificatevi, voi e i vostri fratelli, e poi trasportate l'arca del Signore, Dio d'Israele, nel posto che io le ho preparato.	12 And he said to them: “You who are the leaders of the Levitical families, be sanctified with your brothers, and bring the ark of the Lord God of Israel to the place that has been prepared for it.
13 Perché la prima volta non c'eravate e il Signore, nostro Dio, s'irritò con noi, perché non l'abbiamo consultato secondo la regola".	13 Otherwise, as it was before, when the Lord struck us because you were not present, so also it might be now, if we do what is illicit.”
14 Pertanto i sacerdoti e i leviti si santificarono per trasportare l'arca del Signore, Dio d'Israele.	14 Therefore, the priests and the Levites were sanctified, so that they might carry the ark of the Lord God of Israel.
15 I figli dei leviti sollevarono l'arca di Dio sulle loro spalle per mezzo di stanghe che poggiavano su di loro, come aveva ordinato Mosè secondo la parola del Signore.	15 And the sons of Levi took the ark of God, just as Moses had instructed, in accord with the word of the Lord, upon their shoulders by the bars.
16 Davide aveva ordinato ai capi dei leviti di tenere pronti i loro fratelli cantori con i loro strumenti musicali, arpe, cetre e cembali, perché li facessero risuonare a gran voce in segno di gioia.	16 And David spoke to the leaders of the Levites, so that they might appoint, from their brothers, singers with musical instruments, specifically, psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, so that a joyful noise might resound on high.
17 I leviti destinarono Eman, figlio di Gioele, e tra i suoi fratelli Asaf, figlio di Berechia; tra i figli di Merari, loro fratelli, Etan, figlio di Kusaia.	17 And they appointed from the Levites: Heman, the son of Joel; and from his brothers, Asaph, the son of Berechiah; and truly, from their brothers, the sons of Merari: Ethan, the son of Kushaiah.
18 Con loro c'erano i fratelli di secondo grado, Zaccaria, Uzziel, Semiramot, Iechièl, Unni, Eliel, Benaià, Maaseia, Mattatia, Elifel, Micneia, Obed-Edom e Ieièl, portieri.	18 And with them were their brothers in the second rank: Zechariah, and Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jahiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, who were gatekeepers.
19 I cantori Eman, Asaf ed Etan usavano squillanti cembali di bronzo.	19 Now the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were sounding out with cymbals of brass.
20 Zaccaria, Uzziel, Semiramot, Iechièl, Unni, Eliàb, Maaseia e Benaià suonavano arpe per voci di soprano.	20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah were singing mysteries with the psalteries.
21 Mattatia, Elifel, Micneia, Obed-Edom, Ieièl e Azaria suonavano le cetre sull'ottava per dare il tono.	21 Then Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah and Obededom, and Jeiel and Azaziah were singing a song of victory with the harps, for the octave.
22 Chenania, capo dei leviti trasportatori, dirigeva il trasporto, perché in ciò era esperto.	22 Now Chenaniah, the leader of the Levites, was foremost over the prophecies, in order to mark out in advance the melodies. For indeed, he was very skillful.
23 Berechia e Elkana fungevano da portieri presso l'arca.	23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were porters of the ark.
24 I sacerdoti Sebania, Giosafat, Netaneèl, Amasài, Zaccaria, Benaià ed Eliezer suonavano le trombe davanti all'arca di Dio, mentre Obed-Edom e Iechièl fungevano da portieri presso l'arca.	24 And the priests, Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, were sounding the trumpets before the ark of God. And Obededom and Jehiah were porters of the ark.
25 Allora Davide, gli anziani d'Israele e i capi di migliaia procedettero a trasportare con gioia l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore dalla casa di Obed-Edom.	25 Therefore, David, and all those greater by birth of Israel, and the tribunes, went to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obededom with rejoicing.
26 Poiché Dio veniva in aiuto dei leviti che portavano l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, si offrirono in sacrificio sette giovenchi e sette arieti.	26 And when God had assisted the Levites, who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they immolated seven bulls and seven rams.
27 Davide era rivestito di un manto di bisso, come anche tutti i leviti portatori dell'arca, i cantori e Chenania, capo del trasporto. Davide inoltre portava un efod di lino.	27 Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah, the leader of the prophecy among the singers. But David was also clothed with a linen ephod.
28 Tutto Israele accompagnava il trasporto dell'arca dell'alleanza del Signore con grida, al suono dei corni, con trombe e cembali, facendo risuonare arpe e cetre.	28 And all of Israel were leading back the ark of the covenant of the Lord with jubilation, sounding out with the noise of horns, and trumpets, and cymbals, and psalteries, and harps.
29 Quando l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore giunse nella città di Davide, Mical, figlia di Saul, guardando dalla finestra, vide il re Davide che danzava e saltava e lo disprezzò in cuor suo.	29 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord had arrived in the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, gazing through a window, saw king David dancing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.
