1 The man who, with a stiff neck, treats the one who corrects him with contempt will be suddenly overwhelmed to his own destruction, and reason shall not follow him.	1 L’uomo, il quale, essendo spesso ripreso, indura il suo collo, Di subito sarà fiaccato, senza rimedio
2 When just men are multiplied, the common people shall rejoice. When the impious take up the leadership, the people shall mourn.	2 Quando i giusti sono aggranditi, il popolo si rallegra; Ma quando gli empi signoreggiano, il popolo geme
3 The man who loves wisdom rejoices his father. But whoever nurtures promiscuous women will lose his substance.	3 L’uomo, che ama sapienza, rallegra suo padre; Ma il compagno delle meretrici dissipa i suoi beni
4 A just king guides the land. A man of avarice will destroy it.	4 Il re mantiene il paese con dirittura; Ma chi è dato a’ presenti lo distrugge

6 A snare will entangle the iniquitous when he sins. And the just shall praise and be glad.	6 Nel misfatto dell’uomo malvagio vi è un laccio; Ma il giusto canterà, e si rallegrerà
7 The just knows the case of the poor. The impious is ignorant of knowledge.	7 Il giusto prende conoscenza della causa de’ miseri; Ma l’empio non intende alcun conoscimento
8 Pestilent men squander a city. Yet truly, the wise avert fury.	8 Gli uomini schernitori allacciano la città; Ma i savi stornano l’ira
9 A wise man, if he were to contend with the foolish, whether in anger or in laughter, would find no rest.	9 L’uomo savio che litiga con un uomo stolto, Or si adira, or ride, e non ha alcuna requie
10 Bloodthirsty men hate the simple one; but the just seek out his soul.	10 Gli uomini di sangue odiano l’uomo intiero; Ma gli uomini diritti hanno cura della vita di esso
11 A foolish one offers everything on his mind. A wise one reserves and defers until later.	11 Lo stolto sfoga tutta la sua ira; Ma il savio la racqueta e la rattiene indietro

13 The pauper and the creditor have met one another. The Lord is the illuminator of them both.	13 Il povero e l’usuraio si scontrano l’un l’altro; Il Signore è quello che allumina gli occhi di amendue
14 The king who judges the poor in truth, his throne shall be secured in eternity.	14 Il trono del re, che fa ragione a’ miseri in verità, Sarà stabilito in perpetuo

18 When prophecy fails, the people will be scattered. Yet truly, whoever guards the law is blessed.	18 Quando non vi è visione, il popolo è dissipato; Ma beato chi guarda la Legge
19 A servant cannot be taught by words, because he understands what you say, but he disdains to respond.	19 Il servo non si corregge con parole; Benchè intenda, non però risponderà
20 Have you seen a man rushing to speak? Foolishness has more hope than his correction.	20 Hai tu mai veduto un uomo precipitoso nel suo parlare? Vi è maggiore speranza d’uno stolto che di lui
21 Whoever nurtures his servant delicately from childhood, afterwards will find him defiant.	21 Se alcuno alleva delicatamente da fanciullo il suo servo, Quello sarà figliuolo alla fine
22 A short-tempered man provokes quarrels. And whoever is easily angered is more likely to sin.	22 L’uomo iracondo muove contese, E l’uomo collerico commette molti misfatti
23 Humiliation follows the arrogant. And glory shall uphold the humble in spirit.	23 L’alterezza dell’uomo l’abbassa; Ma chi è umile di spirito otterrà gloria
24 Whoever participates with a thief hates his own soul; for he listens to his oath and does not denounce him.	24 Chi partisce col ladro odia l’anima sua; Egli udirà l’esecrazione, e non però manifesterà il fatto
25 Whoever fears man will quickly fall. Whoever hopes in the Lord shall be lifted up.	25 Lo spavento dell’uomo gli mette un laccio; Ma chi si confida nel Signore sarà levato ad alto in salvo
26 Many demand the face of the leader. But the judgment of each one proceeds from the Lord.	26 Molti cercano la faccia di colui che signoreggia; Ma dal Signore procede il giudicio di ciascuno
27 The just abhor an impious man. And the impious abhor those who are on the right way. By keeping the word, the son shall be free from perdition.	27 L’uomo iniquo è l’abbominio de’ giusti; E l’uomo che cammina dirittamente è l’abbominio dell’empio
