Psalms 97

CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN	NEW JERUSALEM
1 A Psalm of David himself. Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has performed wonders. His right hand has accomplished salvation for him, with his holy arm.	1 Yahweh is king! Let earth rejoice, the many isles be glad!
2 The Lord has made known his salvation. He has revealed his justice in the sight of the nations.	2 Cloud, black cloud enfolds him, saving justice and judgement the foundations of his throne.
3 He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.	3 Fire goes before him, sets ablaze his enemies al around;
4 Sing joyfully to God, all the earth. Sing and exult, and sing psalms.	4 his lightning-flashes light up the world, the earth sees it and quakes.
5 Sing psalms to the Lord with stringed instruments, with strings and the voice of a psalmist,	5 The mountains melt like wax, before the Lord of all the earth.
6 with subtle wind instruments and the voice of woodwinds. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our king.	6 The heavens proclaim his saving justice, all nations see his glory.
7 Let the sea be moved and all its fullness, the whole world and all who dwell in it.	7 Shame on all who serve images, who pride themselves on their idols; bow down to him, al you gods!
8 The rivers will clap their hands, the mountains will exult together,	8 Zion hears and is glad, the daughters of Judah exult, because of your judgements, Yahweh.
9 before the presence of the Lord. For he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the whole world with justice, and the peoples with fairness.	9 For you are Yahweh, Most High over al the earth, far transcending al gods.
	10 Yahweh loves those who hate evil, he keeps safe his faithful, rescues them from the clutches of thewicked.
	11 Light dawns for the upright, and joy for honest hearts.
	12 Rejoice in Yahweh, you who are upright, praise his unforgettable holiness.
