Psalms 125

1 A Canticle in steps. When the Lord turned back the captivity of Zion, we became like those who are consoled.	1 Canto delle ascensioni. Quelli che confidano nel Signore sono come il monte Sion, che non vacilla, che è stabile in eterno.
2 Then our mouth was filled with gladness and our tongue with exultation. Then they will say among the nations: “The Lord has done great things for them.”	2 I monti circondano Gerusalemme e il Signore sta intorno al suo popolo, ora e sempre!
3 The Lord has done great things for us. We have become joyful.	3 Sì, lo scettro di empietà non riposerà sull'eredità dei giusti, purché i giusti non stendano le mani a compiere il male.
4 Convert our captivity, O Lord, like a torrent in the south.	4 Sii benevolo, Signore, con i buoni e con quanti sono retti nel loro cuore.
5 Those who sow in tears shall reap in exultation.	5 Ma coloro che declinano per sentieri tortuosi il Signore li accomunerà con gli operatori di male. Pace su Israele!
6 When departing, they went forth and wept, sowing their seeds.
7 But when returning, they will arrive with exultation, carrying their sheaves.
